"Good morning, Yǐn Cáng" the words were low and muffled by a pillow as Alex for whatever reason had decided to 'sleep' on his stomach all night, his arms curled up beneath his head. As he slowly began to move, stretching out his stiff joints and muscles, working out the almost rigor mortis that had set in. He rolled over in the bed, not realizing he was so near the edge, and fell off with a thud and a groan.
Mornings sucked.
"I'm okay." He grumbled, fairly certain that Yin might be a little concerned, before he rolled over to his hands and knees and pushed himself up quite unsteadily to his feet.
"Need to get ready for work." Work. Everyday work and every night back in Yin's room. At least this time he had left his work clothes here and didn't have to make the long steady trudge back to his own dorm room to get dressed. As he made his way to the closet, however, it became quite obvious that something was a little...off. Noises were coming from within, faint, quiet mewing sounds and he cocked his head to the side before glancing around towards the minipet beds. Fei wasn't there, and he didn't see Lady Terror either, though it was possible she was just somewhere else.
Oh no.
With a feeling of dread already in the pit of his stomach, Alexander opened the closet door, only to have Fei come sauntering out, head held high and blue markings glowing bright.
And he was followed by kittens.
"You little b*****d." Alex growled. Yep, totally more upset that his minipet was getting more action then him, rather then worrying about the kittens that were now filing out of the closet and into the room.

Alexander was up...rather early it seemed. Yin was still asleep when he began mumbling and moving about, though that quickly changed. It was probably due to the lack of a clock in his room, and the fact that with summer the days were longer, and the light the pumpkin sun offered entered his window a bit earlier, that the zomboil might have been a bit disoriented about the time. He glanced over in sleepy confusion, and watched as if in slow motion as Alexander fell out of the bed.
He was halfway across the bed when Alexander grumbled and got up, and he watched him go, somehow thinking that it would be a bad idea to fuss over him. It was almost as if Alexander was on autopilot after too many days of working, because he was just getting up and trudging along. Rather than get up and beginning his own stretches Yin stayed sitting up in bed, trying to remain out of the way for the time being.
Princess Eva was also awake, and with her boil being on the bed she crawled over to him, allowing him to pet her until Yin's head snapped up as he heard an almost growling noise from Alexander, immediately on the alert. What he saw instead were...
His stomach growled.
His saliva glands went into production mode.
No wait, why was Fei strutting in front of those little fluff balls? And there was Lady Terror, a small little fluff ball in her mouth that was hanging by the scruff of its neck. "What do you have there?" he questioned the vaisel, everything certainly not clicking as easily as it had for Alexander. Had someone put these creatures in his closet? Princess Eva just inwardly groaned. Great, more kittens to try to raise.

Alex watched the vaisel parade with narrowed eyes, arms going up to cross over his chest, his mouth closed in a tight line. He was unimpressed, and still slightly groggy from having just gotten up. When Lady Terror made her appearance with the kitten that she toted along with her, he glanced inside the closet in case more were to come, then firmly shut the door. He did not have time for this! He needed to get ready for work! Pulling his phone out of his pocket to check the time and figure out just how late he was going to be greeted him with a surprise.
He'd still had an hour at least to relax before he needed to get out of bed.
"Oh you've got to be jacking kidding me." He grumbled, clearly not in the best of moods this morning as he shuffled back towards the bed and just sort of...collapsed back into it on his stomach, burying his face into the pillow once more.
"Dinner?" Came Alex's muffled response to the question that Yin had directed at Lady Terror, his irritability towards this mornings very existence almost palpable.
"Why didn't you tell me I was up too early?" He bemoaned, finally turning his head to the side so that he could peek through tangled white and black hair back at Yin. Soon enough he was reaching over with one arm to curl around Yin's waist, attempting to pull the other boil closer and perhaps get a cuddle from him before he really did have to get up, Princess Eva be damned. Entirely ridiculous notion, really, but he could still hope. Ignoring the fluff balls toddling around the room and attempting to get attention from his boilfriend was obviously his priority right now.

For once Princess Eva and Alexander were in perfect agreement. She was unimpressed as well. Yin on the other hand was. Their vaisels had done so well to find so many other vaisels! Maybe they could learn to hunt other things too, that would be useful. "Kidding you?" Yin questioned, "I am not." Alexander seemed rather out of sorts this morning.
But with so much of his attention on the vaisels he was really only half paying attention to Alexander. So his suggestion that they be dinner was slightly misunderstood. He shoved aside the bit about being up too early, though now that he was awake he certainly wouldn't be going back to sleep himself, and turned to more pressing matters. "Are you hungry? Or did you have a special request for dinner tonight?" He could probably catch something special if requested.
Princess Eva was not exactly enjoying Alexander's arm on her boil, and there were kittens to investigate, so she jumped off of the bed to give them a once over. Yin twisted a bit, leaning to brush back some of the hair in Alexander's eyes so he could get a good look at him. "I was under the impression that you did not require sleep, so perhaps you should just view it as having extra time today?" Still so romantic. Of course there was someone in the room that did require sleep, and it had been cut into by a certain zomboil who would remain unnamed.

Alex mentally shrugged off the 'kidding you, I am not' stuff because well..it was Yin and it wasn't worth explaining when all he really felt like doing was not moving for the rest of the day. When Yin asked about dinner he sighed, and replied with the answer that was probably partially his reason for hating this day so much.
"Double shift. I'll be at work during dinner, so I'll eat there. Somebody called in sick. Mold or something I dunno. I uh..don't think they're coming back, actually. Probably need to hire somebody new." He shrugged, which looked silly considering he was laying down. "In the meantime, they asked me if I could work extra hours today and since I still need the money I couldn't really say no."
But that meant working more with a certain particular someone that Alex really didn't care for and was having a lot difficulty restraining himself around.
"I don't need sleep." He said, while enjoying the feeling of Yin's fingers brushing over his skin as he pushed away the hair in his eyes. "But I do need a day off. I'm tired of spending all day on my feet." He was pouting, and he knew he was, and that it was pathetic and possibly obnoxious, but jack damnit, he was not cut out for this!
"Anyways, uh...I guess we need to figure out what to do with all of these kittens before I go anywhere." Finally, grudgingly, coming to terms with the fact that this day had pretty much begun and there was no going back to the peaceful quiet of lying in bed with Yin, and that they actually had somethings..some many tiny fluffy things..to deal with.

A...double shift? So he was working the entire day? Yin frowned, not entirely sure about that. Working the entire day was not that strange of an idea, but Alexander working an entire day? "Do not catch...mold...at work," he cautioned, eyes furrowed at the idea. That was just completely unacceptable really.
'When do you receive days off?" he questioned curiously, not entirely sure how jobs worked outside of the Clan. "And will they allow you a break during the day so that you may sit?" Because really, the more he thought about it, the more surprised he was that Alexander could manage it. Pouting was cast aside as Yin worried about him. But if he could eat at work maybe he had a break time?
Yin cast a glance at the kittens. "No one will be upset that they brought them to us will they?" There were so many of them. So, so many. "I suppose we could" eat them "try to give them to others? If they stay here we would need food for them...do not kittens require special foods?" They had initially purchased some at least.

"I don't intend to." He smiled, finally taking his arm back from around Yin and pushing himself up in to a sitting position next to the other boil, able to have a look around at all the kittens that were stumbling about on their stubby little legs.
"I uh..think I have a day off tomorrow, if I don't get asked to work somebody else's shift again. Even if I do get asked I think I should just say no. I need a break." He said, eyebrow raising at a particularly feisty kitten that was attacking the edge of the blanket that was dangling towards the floor.
"And yes, I get a 30 minute break and two fifteen minute breaks per every 8 hour shift I work. Today I'll probably get double that, I suppose." And a bigger paycheck, hopefully. Yay for overtime! Boo for working more...
"What do you mean will anybody be upset?" Alex asked, his expression turning rather blank. He did not know how to brain through Yin's thinking this morning.

"Yes, a break would probably suit you well. If you would like you could come train with me tomorrow." Because really, training constituted a break. It might have been a bit sad at just how happy Yin looked at the idea.
"That many breaks? That should not be too bad then. Just make the most out of your breaks and I am sure you will be fine." But secretly his brain was beginning to try to work things out. If Alexander would be there that long perhaps he should go to the maul to walk him back (or carry him if the shift went that badly).
"Well, you know," Yin said as he gestured toward the kittens. "That all of these were in my closet. Someone probably misplaced them, I did not put them there." Apparently it was easy to ignore that that one had a firey glow and that one definitely had some shining blue to it. There were a few rather plain colored ones though, and that possibly could have been confusing.

Training? Training?? Alex had to try so very very hard to repress the groan that was building up inside of him. No wait, this was something Yin liked to do, and it would make Yin happy, so Alex should just agree and do it and be done with it. So, he thought happy thoughts, kissing Yin thoughts, and gave the weremantis a shining, glowing smile that well hid his discontentment. "Sounds great! I'll definitely tell them no if they ask me to work tomorrow then!"
Maybe a little more enthusiastic then necessary or perhaps believable, but he knew Yin was pretty easy to fool.
"Ya ya ya." He knew that they gave plenty of breaks and that he would probably be fine but...uggggghhhhhh such a long day ahead of him, and Yin would probably be sound asleep when he got back. Not cool. Not cool at all.
Alex continued to stare at his boilfriend rather blankly for a time. What was he even---Ohhhhhh. "Uh, Yin? They uh...you see..." Well, they were just minipets, it wasn't really that big of a deal, was it? Surely Yin could handle this better then he did the sex ed talk that he'd gotten from Alex's mother.
"When two vaisel's like each other very very much..." A grin was starting to break out across Alex's face, and he could feel the laughter that was threatening to bubble up and escape him. No! He could do this! Recomposing himself, he started over. "I think, just maybe, that Fei and Lady Terror might be the parents of these kittens. And yes, special food will be needed for them. And YES I definitely think we should try to get rid of them. I don't need any more pets." Though a couple of them were kind of cute.
NO! Control! Will power!

Wow, he had never heard Alexander that excited about training before! It was great that the zomboil was finally stepping up to the plate. Yin rewarded him by reaching over and letting his hand cover his, giving the cool flesh a gentle squeeze.
A hand that was removed when what Alexander was saying began to click. "Wait but..." he stared down at the kittens, a look of almost horror crossing his face. "I do not keep pumpkins in my closet!" he tried to assure the zomboil. As for why Alexander was so happy about it, he was not going to even dignify that with attention. "Fei!" Obviously it was Alexander's vaisel's fault. Oh Great Mantis there was possibly something wrong with the air or water in the Undead dormitory. Someone needed to warn Mort.
Then another thought occurred to him. "But Alexander, if they belong to Fei and Lady Terror we cannot just get rid of them! Think of how upsetting it would be if someone took your children from you! Or to just be torn away from your parents" And Yin genuinely did look upset at the thought, as it quite possibly brought up all sorts of childhood memories of wondering what it would be like to have a real set of parents.

Mmmm, hand. Warm hand. Okay, so saying yes to training had been a good idea. A fantastic idea.
Telling Yin where kittens came from was a horrible idea.
"Minipets don't need pump--" he started to say, but Yin was already yelling at Fei, as though accusing him. "I really don't think it's all his fau--" Nope, wasn't able to get that sentence out either, as Yin jumped on to a different topic.
"Oh Yin, please no don't--" But it was too late, he was clearly upset, and Alex was feeling just so tired and completely exasperated with this whole situation and when Yin looked at him all sad like that it was just absolutely impossible to say no.
"They'd have to all stay in your room." He warned, eyes narrowing, his smile from earlier long gone. "And they'll be expensive to feed until they get old enough to eat what the other vaisels eat. I don't even know if they'll ever be like Fei and Lady Terror. They aren't pure bred, after all. They might stay small forever." What did Alex know about kittens? Well, more then Yin, apparently.
Wait, what was that about children? Brain was derailing a little bit. "Do you want to have children??" He blurted out, before he could even stop himself.

All of these kittens in his room? Maybe if there was a way to get them to all stay in one area, or if they could be put back in the closet sometimes. Maybe when they were older they could go to others, just not before they were ready. But food...oh that did pose a problem. He frowned slightly. "They cannot eat raw meat?" Well, he did have a few seeds saved up that he had intended to spend on his prom things, and had wound up getting that free. So he could buy a bit of food he supposed. "I might have enough for some," he informed the zomboil.
But something the zomboil said made next to no sense at all. They could stay small forever? How did that even work. Still, smaller creatures meant that there would be more room for them. And they were teetering around an awful lot, which meant there might not be quite so many as they both suspected.
Wait, why was Alexander asking him about children? He gave him a completely bewildered look, but tried to answer the question. "I...do not know? Not right now." Then, his voice a bit suspicious and eyes narrowing he turned the question around. "Do you desire to have children?"

Really, what did Alex know about kittens? "Okay, you know what, maybe we should just go into the pet store today and ask---" Oh wait, he had to work all day, that just..would not work.
Why did it not occur to him at all that that was something Yin could go and do on his own?
"I think they'll need kitten food to start with, maybe they can eat raw meat later, when they are a little bit bigger." If they ever got bigger. ******** minipets. How do they work? Miracles.
Or something to that effect.
Alex would have clamped a hand over his mouth, had it not been much too late for that course of action. Once again he had just let himself speak without fully thinking it through, and had let an embarrassing question slip out. And of course Yin was going to turn this around on him, because there was just no way they could pretend it never happened.
That would just be too easy.
"I--I never really thought about it." He admitted, mind reeling at the question. Children? Presumably with Yin, of course. Well...why not? "I guess I would someday, when I'm older. Not right now, of course not!" Somebody was getting awfully defensive.
"Okay, so these kittens." Subject change was needed. "I have some money too, so don't feel like you need to take on all the responsibility of feeding them yourself." Never mind the fact that he'd been saving up, trying to prove that he could indeed be responsible. "How about I try and finish work early, and we can go to the pet store before it closes. You can just meet me at the maul." This wasn't such a bad idea. It meant he would at least get to see Yin when he was finished his shift after all!

The pet store sounded like a great idea (and who really thought about all of the workers there that they might, potentially, have to avoid?). The kittens needed food, and he could not let them starve. He could certainly get meat when they were old enough for that, but if they needed special food...well he was the provider for those that his room contained. Zomboil, rabo, kitten...they would all be taken care of.
Alexander had brought up the subject of children (in Yin's mind) so it was surprising that he seemed like he did not actually want to talk about them. "Children would take a lot of work." He somehow managed to start a lecture before Alexander changed the subject. If only he realized how much Alexander would prefer the act of creating children more than actually having them...
"We shall see what I have first, if I have plenty of seeds we would not need to use yours, and if we do I could pay you back." Though really, it was Fei's fault, so Alexander was probably more responsible. Even if Lady Terror might argue about who was to blame for all of the kittens. Alexander's idea to meet up sounded well enough, and would even allow him to walk the zomboil home. "I believe I can arrange that. So I shall meet you at the maul...outside of the restaurant that you work at?"

Children would be a lot of work. And for an incredibly lazy zomboil who would probably just beg his own mother to a be live in nanny it was really not anything he wished to consider at this time. In the future? Sure, if it was something that both he and his partner (assuming that partner was Yin) both wanted then he would more then willingly provide the fear required.
He couldn't help but think that Yin would make a very good dad someday before he put a halt to all train of thought still heading in that direction. Shut it down, lock it up, throw away the key.
"What's mine is yours, Yin." He didn't know how many times he had to tell the other boil that. "And the kittens are, I guess, half mine, so I should take on half the responsibility, right?" Well, it didn't matter that much, he supposed. It wasn't like Yin was actually using his money for anything.
Even if the other boil did desperately need some new clothes.
"Ya, just..come in a couple of hours before my shift is supposed to end and I'll try to leave early. You don't have to wait outside, though. Come in and sit down and have something to drink while you wait." There, that seemed to be all sorted out. Any hope of getting anymore time in bed was completely demolished by now, and with another sigh, Alex scooted to the edge of the bed to very very very slowly get ready for work.
