Gaia username: Shotgun Mouthwash.

Character name/Family name: Vesna.

Race: Djinni.

Sex/Gender: Female.

Age: Approximately 400 years old; appears to be about fourteen when in disguise.

Description (Physical): Vesna takes two forms, depending on the situation she finds herself in. When around humans or creatures she doesn't wish to know her true identity, she takes the form of a younger teenage human: shoulder-length red hair, dark olive eyes, and paper-pale skin. She stands barely five feet tall, and due to her young appearance can easily disguise herself as a runaway or vagabond when need be. However, when in her lamp or amongst good company her appearance takes on a drastic change: her hair falls to just past her backside and takes on a ghost-white color, she stands at just under five-foot-nine, and her eyes change from faded green to a pale, canal gray that matches her ashen-colored skin.

Description (Personality): Vesna takes pride in being a fair-minded, even-tempered creature. It takes an immense amount of effort to rile her anger, and when when it manages to bubble up to do anything she usually just shuts down anyway. Vesna can't handle conflict of any kind: if she senses anxiety or anger she will retreat into her bottle without a moment's hesitation and refuse to come out until she knows for sure the trouble has passed. She's a painfully shy thing, and has issue when she finds herself around unfamiliar people. However, the moment someone or something figures out what she is and manages to summon her from her hiding place, she will stand beside them through anything fate throws at them until her services are complete.

Powers and Abilities: Aside from the obvious ability to grant wishes (given said wishes are within her parameters), Vesna has the ability to sense others' emotions. The closer she is to the person or creature, the better of a feel she can have of their true feelings. It's not a telepathic ability; she can't actively tell someone's thoughts. But if someone in the vicinity has a sudden or drastic change in emotion her empath ability kicks in almost instantaneously and she has a better chance at most to react properly.

History: Vesna's name is a direct reflection of the creature she is: an extension of a vessel, a mere artifact of a time long gone. For centuries she lived in peace in her native nation of Serbia, drifting between gypsy camps and orthodox churches doing her part to assist any person she came across. Before the first World War Vesna, who had taken to traveling further out of her homeland, caught wind of the brewing bloodshed and fled into hiding, planting the iron-wrought glass bottle she lived in deep within the Appalachian mountains in an effort to avoid getting caught up in the war. She slumbered there for decades, remaining unperturbed until a werecat discovered her hiding place while hunting for humans in the mountains. Vesna was reawakened with the Cyrillic chant etched on the side of her bottle, and upon rising from her slumber and learning of the conflict brewing in the world she had so earnestly tried to escape so many years ago fled once more.
