I'm not really one for brevity, but in this case I think it'll have to do.

My name is Fighting Fefnir. I am currently the oldest continuously active member of The Sereitei, the oldest active moderator, a former guild vice captain as far back as 2009, as well as the player of the Captain-Commander and Squad One Captain.

As you can now see, I am the owner of this guild.

I've seen this place through good times and bad, and while I dearly love the way things have been set up, I think it's time to try something different. It's time to try something radically different. So different, in fact, that I don't think anyone has ever tried it before.

Over the coming weeks, the structure of the guild itself will be changed into something more narrative, with individual squads slowly faded into a different role. The biggest change is going to be something that most members won't have to worry about, and that is the removal of captain and lieutenant characters.

If you see forums moving around, don't worry; we'll be all in order soon.

Every time we try to come up with a plot, inevitably what happens is that the captains and VC are the emphasis, but that seriously sucks for all the non-captains. That's a majority of people. That's like 99% of people. So, the captains are going to be NPCs, serving primarily as a sort of 'mission control' for the efforts of the rest of the shinigami. Think of a Dungeon Master from D&D, where the crew design encounters, locations, and smaller storylines to challenge players and entertain them. VCs are going to be akin to NPC, people that accompany but don't lead these groups on occasion.

We're going to try and put the emphasis on the journey to becoming powerful, not on the destination of captaincy.

Alongside this, the levels of power that shinigami can attain are expansive in number but limited in scope. I'm hoping that we can expand, revise, tweak, and otherwise scrub the shinigami powers, reforming them into something that makes more sense for the vast wealth of options at a person's disposal. Take, for instance, the weapon forms. There's the sealed form, which rarely is used, the shikai which is the primary combat mode of most people, and finally bankai, which is always super overkill in a real RP. I'd like to work on how this structure functions and make each level more tactically viable in its own right. This means relaxing some restrictions and enforcing others. It also means a departure from the usually strict canon emphasis we've had in TSRT for a long time.

We're going to move away from the strictness of canon in order to make things more playable.

This is going to affect the the other races as well. I know I'm talking about shinigami a lot, but that's what I'm personally most familiar with. I've got guys like Pad Chief and Colm-kun who are much more experienced with things like Arrancar to help with the specifics of other races. Look for updates on these other groups later on.

Now, the biggest change is going to be in regard to the guild's history, Many people have asked for a timeline to fit into, and your calls haven't fallen on deaf ears. This is definitely going to be a priority. Having been around since the beginning of this guild, I'll be working on ordering the in-character story of our guild and working this into the backstory of what I'm tentatively calling 'World 2.0'. The guild is going to get a major overhaul in regards to our philosophy. This guild was established with no set dynamics to encourage creativity, but I feel that the evidence of its effect is enough to say we need to lay down some info about the Spiritual world at large. This is going to serve as the backdrop for the 'modules' the crew create, and hopefully add to the characters within it.

The details of all of these things are tentative, but at this moment, this is what we're looking at doing. Keep an ear to the ground for updates, and please feel free to contact Colm-kun, Pad Chief, or myself via PM. We'll be more than happy to hear any suggestions you guys have for what you want to see out of this new setup.
