Dust 514 is a FPS MMO that will share the same superserver with EVE Online. In this FPS you start out as a soldier for hire. But unlike normal soldiers, you are immortal. A recent discovery in lost technology has uncovered an implant that can send a being's consciousness to a clone instantly, even at the very moment the brain shuts down and dies. Though this find is something to celebrate, all four core empires developed military use for artifact. So it has been reversed engineered and mass produced to make YOU. The Immortal Soldier, death is merely a hindrance. When you die, your consciousness is sent to a clone then redeployed onto the battlefield (respawning finally makes sense).
There are 7000+ Earth like planets, each with 10 to 20 districts. Each district has a unique code that has info on sea level, plant life, land elevation, ect. A map builder program takes this info and generates a unique map were the battle will take place. No two maps will be alike (other than the bases you fight over). The maps will be a few miles wide.
You first choose one of the four empires to start in, along with a bloodline and a starter profession to start you off with certain skills. All four empires have wide selections of weapons, vehicles, drop suits, each with it's own ups and downs. For instance, a tank developed by the Caldari State has very thick shields and a large amount of slots to fit shield moduals in, but has poor armor plating. You are NOT limited to equipment from one empire, if you have the skills to use it, you can use it. You could have Amarrian armor, a Minmatar weapon, a Gallente sidearm, and drive a Caldari dropship if you want.
But be warned, there is a brutal risk vs reward factor in this world. When you die, all the equipment you had on you...is GONE! the armor, the guns, the moduals you fit on them, GONE. That's why you should stock up on the fittings you can afford to loose multiple times. The same goes for vehicles that you can call to be dropped on the battlefield, if it's destroyed...GONE.
Who do you fight for? Whoever the hell you want. You could fight for one of the Empires in factional warfare and team up with EVE Online players who have done the same. You can be a mercenary and fight for the EVE player who pays you to take some other player's station. You can join or build your own player corporation and fight for your and your friends' interests. Corporations in EVE and Dust are the same thing, players can interjoin between them and fund it. You can even own a planet or every planet in an entire solar system if you have the ambition. There one feature I'm sure you'll like...but I'll let some of the vids bellow show you.
Best of all...this game is FREE 2 PLAY. You don't need to pay a dime to play it. You can spend money on vanity items and weapons but nothing you buy with real money will give you an advantage on the battlefield. CCP has made it clear that this game will not be pay 2 win.

CCP intends to continuously expand Dust like they're doing with EVE, and they depend on not just their imagination but player ideas as well. Much of what's in the EVE universe was thought up by players. They don't plan on there being sequel games, Instead they rather see how far they can go with the existing games they have. And in the world of EVE, not even skies limit limit you.
