The Goddess hated him. She truly did. It was the only explanation Ricky had. Why else would she have made him have to put up with this blue haired idiot? Was it because of that one time when he cursed her name the first night Ariel snuck into his room? If that was it, he was sorry. He was sorry, dammit! Couldn’t she just forgive him, and let him be on his dandy way? Obviously not. What was Asariel even babbling on about now? Cats? Cake? ******** if he knew. All Caddarick was aware of was the fact that the moron was clutching to his arm, as if his life depended on it, while the pink haired man was doing his last rounds of the mail route. Not even being at work kept him safe anymore. Actually, scratch that “anymore”; it was never safe from the beginning. ********. ”Tell me again why you’re annoying me, instead of helping Mom right now?” he snapped, using his free hand to rub his temples. Wasn’t Ariel supposed to be with Carina, helping make the food for New Year’s Eve, while planning the appearance of their wedding cake, or plotting the new “top secret plan” of how to get Ricky to fall for him? Bloody hell.

██████████████████████████___ Asariel Ashford ____________██████████████████████████What was Asariel talking about again? It really didn't matter anymore, since he was only talking to hear his own voice, and Ricky wasn't listening anyway, he never did. Asariel Ashford, the most fantastic sounding guy in all of town, was accompanying his most adored Caddarick around while the pinkette delivered the mail. What more could you ask for? Having such a dotting boyfriend like Ariel~ He only stopped yammering when he actually heard the mailcarrier pip up and say something. Huh? What? Help Carina? "Oh, didn't i tell you? Since it's New Years, Carina-chan gave me the whole day and night off so i could spend some amazing quality time with you, Ricky! You're mom's so adorable! We worked super hard last night to get most of the food anyway." Ariel clutched onto Ricky's arm a little tighter, rubbing the side of his face against the pinkette's shoulder. This was nice. Ariel didn't get to spend that much time with Ricky anymore, which was whyCarina was awesome for letting him off work even though it would be busy. "We should do something fun when your done! Like. Like something awesome. Are you hungry? Wanna go eat? Or, or that tea house that Micheru runs! We could go there!" Just, anything to go on a date with Caddarick!

So why exactly did he actually open his trap to ask a question? Things would have been so much better had Ricky just continued on his own, merry damn way, ignoring the annoying voice that obviously brightened when he asked a question. Le sigh. Why couldn’t Asariel have found some other poor, unfortunate soul to become friends with as a child? ”I can see why Mom let you have the day off, but why the night too? ******** hell. You are not using New Years as an excuse to climb into my bed and do your ‘snuggling’ thing.” His face twisted as his arm was used as a teddy bear, and his entire body stiffened. He really needed to find some way to break free of the other male’s iron grip. When Ariel explained he and Carina made most of dinner for tonight already, the pinkette made a mental note to find out which meals Asariel made before he ate anything –knowing the nuisance, he probably went over to the fortune teller in Monotone Springs, and got some kind of love potion to use on him. Great. ”Maybe I should just take my bitter sweet time today,” he replied, opening a random house’s mail box, and putting in a few envelopes, ”But you know, there’s a lot to do at the office tonight too. I might be there all night. Hopefully. So why don’t you skedaddle off, and go to the Teahouse yourself. Tell Micheru I say hi. Try not to get eaten by any wolves on the way.” Anything to avoid a "date" with Asariel.

██████████████████████████___ Asariel Ashford ____________██████████████████████████Ugh. Why was Ricky such a jerk all the time? When had Ariel been anything but super nice and caring? It was so sad! "But thats the point of New Years. Spending time with the people that you adore. Its the perfect excuse!" Any opportunity to snuggle with Ricky was worth taking, at least in Asariel's eyes. Why miss a chance like that? And if Carina didn't mind him taking the day off, all the more reason to spend it with her son! Cranky Ricky was just too stubborn to admit that he really would like it, eventually, when he finally gave in and accepted it. Sigh. If only the mail carrier would accept it sooner, rather than later. Dealing with Elusive Caddarick was always so exhausting. When Ricky tried to get out of the date Ariel was trying to plan for tonight, the teal haired waiter finally let him go, crossing both arms across his chest with an annoyed huff. "Theres nothing stopping me from staying at the office with you, you jerk. We can order in and have like, candles and stuff on the floor while you sort through mail!" Ariel's eyes lit up, just picturing the whole thing. Awe, that would be so cute! They could feed each other and snuggle and snoop through peoples mail~<3

”And since when do I adore you?” he scoffed with a roll of his eyes. This conversation had occurred pretty much every single day there was a festival, since Caddarick and Asariel started living in the Inn –the teal haired fellow even used the excuse on days of the bloody Horse Festival. When was he going to start getting creative? Not like Ricky could talk –he used the same response every single time. And, as always, the other was probably going to go off on some spiel about how he did adore him, he just hadn’t realized it yet. Same routine, different days. When her was “pleasantly” informed of the cure to his little mishap, the pinkette’s jaw clenched. Even the fact that the pain had finally let go wasn’t making the situation better (though, he was quite pleased with that, no two ways about it). ”Never mind, then. I can do that tomorrow. It’s New Years, and I need to go to Mom’s tonight anyways. But if you’re so dead set on going somewhere, why don’t we go to the bar and get a drink. On the condition you stay five ******** paces behind me as soon as we hit the damn village, and don’t sit at the same table as me.” It was hardly likely to work, but you could never blame a guy for trying.

██████████████████████████___ Asariel Ashford ____________██████████████████████████It really was the same old song and dance routine, but Asariel was not opposed to playing his part. One of these days, the truth would sink in and everything would be happy. Not that he didn't like this jerkface Caddarick! No, he completely adored him! But even Ariel had a limit to how much a*****e he could take. "But you really do adore me. Thats why you've put up with me for so long, even if you are a ******** b*****d ninety percent of the time." His answer was obvious, and true. All of it. Still, knowing that didn't make it better and Ariel sighed, almost ready to give up when Ricky suggested his idea of a date. Ugh. This guy, was he serious? If Ariel could get annoyed at Ricky, it was happening now. "Great. That sounds like a ******** blast. You're a p***k, you know that? Can't you just accept it and do it my way for once? Thats all i'm asking." aaah... who was he kidding though? Stupid Caddarick McDouchbag. Ariel scratched a hand through his hair, thinking, trying to mend the situation before it got to out of hand that he couldn't salvage it. "How about, we just buy a ton of booze, and drink at the inn?" Alone. Together. Drunk. <3

xxxxxxxxxxx ████████████████ xxxLennox Dunstan xxx██████████████████████████It had been a long time since he'd walked the streets of Raynebow Valley. Even in the end of Winter, when snow melted in mud, the town was overwhelmingly bright. Lennox supposed he sort of blended in with it, having such pink hair and colorful eyes. The man hadn't seen the equally as vivid Ricky or his mother yet, but had decided to take a walk before paying a visit to them. They knew that he was moving back; however, they weren't aware when. He liked to think of it as a pleasant surprise, hopefully, when he showed up already moved in and not asking for any help with boxes. Len decided on a room at the inn, which he knew to also be housing his twin just a room away. It was surprising they hadn't bumped into each other just yet. Then again, it was also an easy feat to miss someone by just a moment. The pink-haired chef pushed cold hands into his pockets, feeling the ending effect of winter. He would have to begin work soon enough, may as well enjoy the free time while he could. Perhaps he could eventually buy a house if the job suited him well enough to be permanent. Walking at a casual pace, Len's mind calmly ran through the many things and people he remembered. One specifically popped out at him.. Asariel. He stuck to Ricky like cling wrap, but seemed like a different person when with the mute. They got along.. really quite well. He usually thought nothing of him, but once he left for college, Len found himself thinking of him more than he should have. His brother would kill him if he knew, so it'd have to stay a secret. The mute almost wished that Asariel wouldn't make an appearance. 'I wouldn't have a clue on what to do..' He sighed, turning a corner to who knows where.#AFB507

Caddarick sighed and shook his head. How badly he could use an Advil right about now. He didn’t know how he managed to not get addicted to the pain meds –he needed to use them almost every day the pest… Well, pestered him. Which was pretty much every bloody day. Yippee. How badly he wished mail carriers were higher up on the social latter, and could get awesome vacation pays. A break would be more than welcome. In every possible way. ”Only ninety percent? Well s**t, then. I better up my game. I must be losing my touch.” He wasn’t even going to bother with the adoration conversation anymore; it was an annoying, never-ending cycle that would just aggravate him more and more. He wanted to remain at least somewhat pleasant until dinner, for the sake of his mother. Goddess, the effort he put forth for the woman… Then again, he probably put in as much effort when it came to Lennox. Speaking of which, didn’t he say he was moving back sometime? Ricky gave a moment when “sometime” would be, but waved it off; no matter, he’d get here when the time was right. ”Yes, I am quite very aware of the fact I am a p***k. And I have accepted that fact. But accepting the other ‘it’ that you’re referring to, and going along with your plans just sounds like a s**t ton of effort, and consequences, that I would rather not deal with.”
The pinkette was on the verge of continuing his little rant, when a familiar pink blob came into view. Was that…? No, it couldn’t be. But who else? ”Okay, whatever, that works too,” he said automatically, not even bothering to glance at Asariel –until he shoved his messenger bag into the teal headed man’s arms, ”But first, count to ten, and deliver the rest down this street. Keep your eyes open and take a picture of a flying cow for me too; I think I saw one out of the corner of my eye.” Pointing down the street briefly, he took the other by the shoulders, opened the door of the nearest building, and slammed it shut. It would preoccupy him… For a little while. Knowing he wouldn’t have much of a chance to keep him away, Ricky started walking down the road, his speed increasing until he was breaking out into a jog. With a rare smile cracking his face, he called out to his twin, ”Lennox!” He opened his arms, and caught his brother in a hug –an odd feeling for him, to say the least. He got plenty of them, but it was a blue moon where he gave one out willingly. He didn’t spare much time before he started pulling his brother down the road, and around the corner, ”You have no idea how happy I am to see you! That stupid little ******** has been even more annoying recently. I don’t know how you can stand to be nice to him. But how’ve you been? Have you seen mom yet?” Caddarick felt somewhat bad for the chain of chattering, given his brother’s disability, but knowing Len, he’d reply to all he could, no matter how simple. If only Asariel weren’t around to inevitably ruin the moment.

██████████████████████████___ Asariel Ashford ____________██████████████████████████The familiar belittlement came and went, and Ariel rolled his eyes in traditional response. Annoyed as he was though, the tealette was still determined to get what he wanted out of Caddarick whether or not he was arrested afterwards depended on how much of a jerk the mail carrier continued to be. Still. Asariel couldn't help but follow after the other, there just wasn't anything else he wanted to do. being a douche was just part of Ricky's charms, and if he didn't accept that, then what was the point of the last twenty plus years? No way, He'd put too much time and effort into this to just abandon it now! The years had already shown progress! Sort of. Not really. Who was he kidding. Ugh this was going to be another depressing festival, wasn't it? At least, thats what Ariel thought until he though the heard Ricky agree to his last proposal. Wait, what? Asariel quickly looked over towards the pinkette just as Ricky thrust the messenger bag into his hands. "What?" Caddarick went off with his instructions, and the tealette tried his best to wrap his head around what the other was actually trying to say, if he was trying to say anything at all. Ariel scrunched his nose in confusion as Ricky turned him around and started pushing him forward. "A flying cow?" The door closed shut inches from his nose and Ricky was gone. What... What was that? Why... Where did Caddarick need to be so fast and alone?? Why couldn't Ariel come? He clutched the messenger bag tighter. He was off flirting again, wasn't he?

xxxxxxxxxxx ████████████████ xxxLennox Dunstan xxx██████████████████████████As Len turned, attempting to push away any of those thoughts that threatened to interfere, he swore he could see Asariel's rare teal hair color along with one that was identical to his. Aha.. it couldn't be, right after he desperately wanted him not to show up. He was just seeing things. Simply a hallucination in the blindingly colorful town. The mute brought a hand up to rub an eye, closing them for a few moments only to open them and realize that it had actually worked. He stopped in disbelief. Well, it didn't usually happen that way. The person who greatly resembled his friend from younger days was gone, and it became only.. Ricky! Len instantly smiled at the sight of his brother rushing toward him with a matching expression. The man returned the sudden hug he received happily, overjoyed to see his sibling in such a state. He wished he could let out an exclamation, but to no avail. Only a grin would do. Besides, Ricky had enough to say and was used to it anyways. Len was surprised to be tugged quickly away, not entirely sure where they were going off to in such a rush, but he didn't really mind. Adventures with his twin were always welcome, if that's what it was turning into. They were long overdue. As they walked, the pinkette's heart nearly skipped a beat at what he heard. He could only assume that 'stupid little ********' referred to the one and only Asariel. It definitely was him he saw only moments earlier. What terrible luck. The chef kept a smile on face. He was still happy to see his brother, and he would face the other man when the time was right. With all of the questions, Len chose to use sign language instead of writing on the pad that was safely in his pocket with a pencil to accompany it. 'If you just look for the positives, he's really not as awful as you think. I've been okay, but I'm really happy to be home. Actually, I was planning to visit you and mom today after this walk. I'm already moved in. How have you been holding up here?' His hands moved swiftly, attempting to answer everything and allow Ricky to see. It was possible his brother was rusty at sign language, for they hadn't seen each other for quite a while.#AFB507

Goddess, sign language was one thing Ricky hadn’t seen in a long time –not for real, at least. Carina used it on occasion, to make sure he didn’t completely forget, but it wasn’t nearly the same. Even so, he had to deal with it, and it only took a few missed words before he caught on again, watching intently. At the “comment” about Asariel, the mail carrier roll his eyes, ”Easy for you to say. You aren’t the one who has a hip he’s decided to attach himself to. And you seem to forget I have a very small tolerance for annoyances?” Even as he spoke, his tone was not unkind. It was an odd day when he was downright rude and cold to either Carina or his twin. Finally, he slowed his walk, and stopped, continuing to watch his brother’s quick gestures. With a completely serious face, he faced his mirror, and set a hand on the other’s shoulder, ”Well, I’m glad you’re back. Mom will be too. I missed you, brother.” He let his hand linger for a short time, before coughing awkwardly and walking backwards the few steps it took until his back was pressed against the bricks of a building, rose bushes growing around it fervently. Caddarick really wasn’t one for the whole “kind” and “caring” thing; it was an awkward and foreign personality. One he would much rather leave to his brother. ”It’s been alright, I suppose. Finally started getting used to the colours and whatever. It’s pretty boring, though. And things would be a lot more pleasant if Ariel learned how to give a guy some space. I’m living, though.” It was almost odd to be speaking to Lennox like this again. He had started getting used to only making contact with his brother through letters and the like. The thought was far from a complaint, nonetheless.

██████████████████████████___ Asariel Ashford ____________██████████████████████████Asariel counted to ten; that was how much time it took for him to get over the fact that Caddarick had shut him in some building so that he could escape. the tealette’s head thumped against the door, hugging the messenger back to his front with an annoyed groan before he straightened and decided to take a look at his surroundings. Clothes everywhere, and a woman that was not Carina Dunstan staring at him. This was the seamstress' shop. Smiling like an idiot in apology, Ariel opened the door that had been shut in his face and left in a hurry, not wanting to bother the tailor for no reason at all. ******** you, Ricky! Ariel’s boots sloshed in the slushy snow, once outside and for a fleeting moment as he glanced down the street in all directions he contemplated actually finishing Caddarick’s mail route. He’d tagged along on them for so long that he pretty much knew what he needed to do. Slinging the messenger bag over a shoulder, Ariel decided not to. No way! Not after that b*****d ran off like that! Why should he be nice? Where the hell had he gone, anyways? Asariel stalked off in the direction he and Ricky had been originally walking in, each step making him less and less mad at the pink haired p***k. How could he stay angry when this was so normal? Ugh, Caddarick had no ******** idea how lucky he was! If Ariel had been anyone else, they’d be down right pissed off for days after a stunt like that! As he rounded a corner, still fuming about how too nice and too lenient he was, Ariel thought he spotted a head of pink not too far away. ”Ricky!”

xxxxxxxxxxx ████████████████ xxxLennox Dunstan xxx██████████████████████████ Len allowed a soft smile to form across his silent mouth as Ricky complained of Asariel's attachment to him. Certainly it had to be better than taking life alone, right? The teal haired man simply adored the older twin, which could be much worse in Len's mind. Of course, he may have been a bit biased in thinking when it came to the current situation.. so as usual, he'd just keep his words to himself. It was true that the other Dunstan had a low tolerance level for not only pests, but others as well. Besides one being a mute, it was one of the greatest differences between the two. Len had learned to become very patient due to his disability, along with being a good listener. Sure, there were times when it could become irritating not having the power to voice his mind. These times, however, were quite rare as opposed to the notably angry Ricky. He was always caring to both Len and his mother, though, which Asariel was likely fighting hard to experience. He continued to walk cheerfully down the street, realizing his brother had stopped a bit late and pausing as well a few steps past him. The chef turned, face hinting confusion as the other placed a hand on his shoulder. This changed back into yet another warm smile once listening to the truthful words sound from Ricky. Len looked into his matching eyes, not bothering to use sign language or write it but mouthing, 'I missed you too, Caddarick.' The mute followed his brother to lean on the wall next to him afterwards, knowing that such sentimental moments were a bit awkward for the man. Understanding this, the younger wouldn't draw it out any longer than it had to be. Once again, he placed his cold hands into jean pockets, watching his breath cloud in the air. Just as he was about to respond, inquiring on the sudden strange coloring, familiar teal hair caught the corner of his eye. Len froze, an idea forming in his mind. Ricky continued to complain about Asariel not ceasing to annoy him, right? Well then, wouldn't it be helpful for them to switch for a little bit? He was curious, really curious, how differently the other acted around each twin. So, the first thing that came to mind was to.. quickly shove his older brother away, directly into the rose bushes. 'Sorry!' He mouthed and cringed for a moment, not realizing it was going to be such a painful type of plant, but knew he could explain it fully when there was time. For now, he had to deal with acting like him. Len kept his hands in his pockets, erasing the smile and trying to look as serious as possible as he stepped onto the road and carried on in the opposite direction of the one he wanted to trick, knowing that he'd follow. Now he'd know what his brother was taking so much time to talk about.#AFB507

The silence that fell upon the two was not an awkward one; Ricky was used to the quiet around his twin. Literally. But he wasn’t going to complain any time soon about being able to hear his own thoughts, and the little things that surrounded him –the wind, the music of wind chimes in the distance, the animals that were making themselves known for the spring that was only a day from officially being there, and... Asariel? ******** hell. He hadn’t followed Pinky’s instructions. Figures. The only time where he wasn’t an obedient dog was when he wanted it most. ”Hey, let’s get out of here before he finds us,” he suggested, pushing himself off of the wall. Before he could really comprehend what was happening, though, he was… Falling? He felt hands on his side one moment, and the next, he was in a most uncomfortable position, being stabbed a thousand times per square inch of his body. And not only that, but a strong stinging was coursing through his skull, and he breifly felt a trickle of something on his head, his hat now vanished. Goddess. Of course he would have to pick a brick building to lean against -on his way down, he must have hit his poor, throbbing head on something jutting out of the building. Just ******** peachy. ”What the <********> Caddarick snapped, more so to himself than anyone, as footsteps grew faint. What the hell was that all about?! First the Goddess, and now his own twin! There just wasn’t any bloody winning for him!
