Loron and Brown Losk strode toward the mess hall, where he knew a good deal of his fellow handlers had gathered. He and Loth had been waylaid by a pair of Candidates that hadn't really been much of a challenge. He'd left them living, though bleeding, just to show he could be compassionate. Besides, one couldn't have been more than 13. He was all for taking over the weyrs, but he didn't feel right killing children.
Keller's plan had fallen together nicely, although Loron wished more dragonriders had gone to the demonstration. Oh well. They would just have to fight the bastards back and shoo them out of here. Trine Weyr belonged to the handlers now.

Ca'mil and Cheryth had helped the Beasthandler gauden in the stables and loath to leave him there by himself she had offered him a ride back to the Weyr proper on Cheryth - of course once they arrived the full meaning of the assault became clear..and the quick devestation that had been wrought as well.
"We needto find the other riders and Weyrfolk" She shouted back to her passenger..but then spotted the Wher and his handler. 'I can smell the blood on him' Cheryth announced in rage and spiraled closer.
"After we take this traitor out!" Ca'mil added for the benefit of her passenger as the Crimson landed with a bugle of rage. Flaring her wings and hissing at the Wher while her passengers dismounted.

Gauden looked down and saw the pair the angry Crimson was shooting toward. He fought with the straps for a long moment before he followed Ca'mil off of the dragon's back and dropped to the ground with a thump. The extra inch he'd gained in the last Turn still didn't bring him to much more than average height for a female. He was strong, but he wasn't tall, and it was a far drop from the back of a Crimson.
The fall jolted his knees, but he shook it off. He'd recovered his wind from the last fight, and if they could take out a wherhandler pair or two, it might spare folk without the benefit of a dragon or wher some serious damage later.
The blood on the whers teeth as it hissed almost made Gauden pale. His face set grimly instead and strode forward, intent on engaging the handler. Who had he attacked, and it was definitely a human and not a dragon, with his wher? Gauden might not find out, but he could prevent it from happening again. Without a handler, the wher would be little trouble for Cheryth.

Cheryth knew that the Wher was a danger to her human companions and so as soon as they were clear she lunged for the Wher. Her attack was quick and the crimson was less inclined to make sure it hit as she was to make sure it got the Whers attention on her and not on her friends. 'I have the Wher..you deal with the handler' The Crimson told her rider firmly.

As Cheryth charged forward to take on the Wher Ca'mil followed her lifemates example and dove at the handler, she sought to drive him to the ground, if she was lucky he'd knock himself senseless in the fall but that was a remote chance, if nothing else maybe she could get him down so that Gauden could take advantage for his own hit.
"Think your smart huh? Trying to take over the Weyr..your nothing but a traitor!" She yelled at the man as she flung herself at him.

Loron snarled slightly, his lip curled back unbecomingly from his teeth. Two on one, eh? Well, his wher could even those odds. A dragon couldn't attack a human, after all, and he was more inclined to set Losk where he could do more damage. Humans were fragile when compared to whers.
The rider's accusation warned him of her incoming attack, not that her blantant rage was hard to notice.
He blocked the strike Ca'mil aimed at him and let out a quick set of clicks and a trill to Losk. His wher could handle a pair of unarmed humans.

Losk bellowed at Cheryth in reply to her initial challenge, and then followed it with a hiss and a few menacing steps forward. Her lunge at him certainly did draw his attention and he hissed again, fully prepared to protect himself and his handler from the much larger, but only equally as angry dragon.
With the direction of his handler, however, Losk abandoned his first thought and turned his whirling red and orange eyes on the humans approaching. He saw the female swing for his handler and lunged for Ca'mil instead.

Gauden saw the wher coming and instinctively tossed himself at the beast, hoping to redirect the attack or at least knock it enough aside that it didn't horribly wound Ca'mil. He hadn't counted on the wher noticing him, though.

Cheryth bellowed in fury when the Wher turned away from her and rushed her rider - and then the other human intersected the charge and took the hit. The Crimson was grateful to the man for saving her rider and she wasn't about to let the help go unaided. Lashing out with her claws she sought to knock the Wher away from the man.

Ca'mil snarled as the man managed to defend himself from her strike..and even worse directed the Wher towards she and he companion. Deciding that she would just have to hope Cheryth could take care of the When she returned her focus on the handler, hearing rather then seeing the hit that Gauden took for her.
"You'll never get away with this" She told the handler as she stepped in and threw a punch at the man. She hadn't survived the time missions and threadfall to loose her home to the like of this man.

Loron saw his wher hit Gauden, but he had to quickly redirect his attention to the Crimsonrider, since she seemed to have taken personal offense to his wher attacking her. Oh well, couldn't make friends everywhere!
He smirked as she attacked him and finally retorted with words of his own. "Big words for an outcome you can't," Loron took the brunt of the hit and attacked with a swift, hard punch of his own, "see yet!"

Losk snarled at Gauden as the man intercepted his attack, filled with rage at this man who had gotten in his way and was helping the woman hurt his handler. However, Cheryth's sudden swipe hit home and the wher gave a startled, pitifully sorrowful wail before it stumbled aside. He heard Loron call his name and looked over, ichor oozing from his side, then snarled at Gauden and attacked the man. Get this one out of the way first, so it couldn't help its friend, then get the woman off of his handler!

Gauden fell back as the wher detached in response to Cheryth's attack, but he didn't have very long to worry before the wher came at him again. Apparently, it had taken offense to his interference. He threw up his arms to block the sudden lashing out of the wher's claws, hoping to lessen the blow somewhat. It didn't do much, and Gauden cried out as the wher's claws sliced through the skin of his arm and sent blood dripping from the slash marks.

When the wher stumbled aside the Crimson rumbled in pride - but her joy did not last long, no sooner did the beast stumble off and Gauden get the chance to recover a little bit but the wretched beast turned back to attack. Cheryth once more attempted to pull the beast off but this time she had to turn her strike aside or else risk hitting Gauden. Frustation whirled in the dragons eyes as she bellowed at the Wher.

Cheryth's bellow of frustration was not lost on Ca'mil and that moment of distraction caused her to be sent reeling back, blood dripping from her nose from the Wherhandler's hit. Wiping the blood away with her sleeve she hauled off and did the absolute worst thing she could possibly think of and tried to kick him between the legs. Hey...this wasn't exactly the time to be fighting nicely.
