It was a warm, muggy evening in the city of Katarina, late enough out that most people were staying indoors to watch the nightly news. It was a quiet night, with light low clouds scattered across the sky to hide some of the stars and occasionally the nearly full moon. One could almost call it peaceful. Until the scream of someone in pain came out from the public park. Koorie Shizuku stood calmly in the night, her skin glistening with a small layer of sweat as she glared down at the man laying before her. "You will give it to me, or I will break each and every bone in your body and peel back your skin in ways that will make you wish you were dead." She spoke slowly and clearly, for to have acquired this much of her rage the individual on the ground had to have been a complete moron. As it was, he was curled in the fetal position, cradling his right arm towards his body and trembling. She was psycho! There was no way around it, this woman was totally bonkers! "You'll pay for this, you b***h!" "Tch, we'll see." She spat out, her foot lashing out to kick him in the kidney, not even fazed by his threat. "Now hand over what belongs to me!"

Ed was walking home after his shift when he heard a scream from the park. He quickly broke into a run, heading towards the trouble. Seeing a woman standing over a downed man, he flashed the beam from his flashlight across her face. "Ma'am, please step away from the man on the ground!"

Koorie wasn't about to be deterred from her current target, even with the brilliant beam of a flashlight in her face. "I'll step away when he gives me my god damn things!" She didn't even hesitate to grab the man's arm and twist it around to where it almost dislocated out of the socket; hell, she hadn't even realized that the man with the flashlight was a cop right then.
Granted, if she had, she still wouldn't have let the damn thief up; he had broken into her home, stolen from her, and currently was in possession of a large amount of money and one of her pokemon. As far as she was concerned, the man would be a dead man right now if murder wasn't illegal. Though, so was prostitution and with the way she was dressed in the short skirt and button up shirt that wasn't even buttoned, she certainly could have been mistaken for one.

"Ma'am!" Ed said sharply as he swung the heavy flashlight down to give a stinging, but ultimately non-damaging, tap to knob of the girl's wrist bone. "I really must insist you stop damaging him and tell me what your grievance with him is. If we can't resolve this peacefully, I'm afraid we are all going to have to take a trip down to the station!" he said firmly.

Son of a b***h that hurt! Koorie quickly let go of the man's arm and turned to the side to glare at whoever had the balls to actually come between her and her target. It was a good thing she noticed the uniform in the dim light or there would have probably been more trouble; instead she rubbed her wrist and shot a pissed off glare at Ed. "The problem is that I found this [Censored] face [Censored] [Censored] with a banana [Censored] [Censored] to a [Censored] with a twinkie had broken INTO MY HOUSE and stealing from me while refusing to return what he has taken."
Her attention turned back to the named thief, who was doing his best to try to crawl away from the enraged woman. "She's a psychopath! Completely insane! No normal person acts like she does."
Koorie ignored the claims and shot him a slow, wicked smirk. "In some countries, thieving is met with the amputation of the culprit's hands." The tone in her voice could send shivers down any man's back.
(I swear she doesn't curse that much! She's just tired and incredibly royally pissed)

Ed frowned at the language, then at the woman's accusation. Pulling a pokeball off his belt, he released Zaire. "Zaire, scent!" He pointed to the woman. Zaire walked over and took several deep sniffs of the female, making sure she had the scent.
"Zaire, seek item!" Zaire began circling in a widening spiral from the woman, sniffing for items that smelled like she had touched them. Reaching the downed man, she sniffed up and down his body, snuffling at his pockets before sitting and barking. Ed gave the man a flat look. "My Zorua says you have something in your pocket that belongs to the lady."
((Woah. I can't even guess at what was censored, but that was some rather inventive cursing from the parts I could see! XD ))

Koorie crossed her arms, cocking a hip out to the side a bit, her eyes piercing daggers down at the man as the Zorua searched him. Her lips twitched into a smirk when it became clear that the pokemon had found what had been stolen from her.
The look on the man's face was priceless; he looked like he'd just pissed himself right then and there. He shook his head. "There's no way I'd have her stuff on me; I've never even seen her before!"
Koorie cracked her knuckles and glanced at the cop. "Oh, just let me beat him senseless. I'm allergic to bullshit and he's about to send me into an allergy attack." She seemed to have been able to calm down a little since her rage was back under her control.
(Yeaaaah, I.. I don't even want to try to figure out what was censored there...)

Ed frowned mightily. "I hope you aren't calling my Zorua a liar. I might get offended by that. For that matter, she might get offended by that." On cue, Zaire growled lowly. Ed glanced at her, then back at the man. "I think the best thing for everyone here might be for you to empty your pockets out." Ed drummed his fingers fairly obviously against his nightstick.

Realizing the jig was up, the man reached into his pockets and started pulling out what he'd taken. Koorie didn't even seem to care when he pulled the wad of cash from his pocket, but when the gold-chained locket came out she nearly s**t bricks. The son of a gun had stolen her dead mother's locket; it was a damn good thing that cop was here because there was about to be a murder committed.
As soon as the miniaturized pokeball came out of his pocket, Koorie made a move to retrieve it; she was pretty sute that even in the confine of the pokeball, her pokemon could feel exactly how pissed off she was.

Looking at the lady as the man emptied his pockets, Ed wondered if he would have to arrest someone after all to keep the guy from ending up paste. Putting the guy in a cell might be doing him a favor, assuming he wasn't sharing it with the woman. He didn't particularly want to open that can of worms though, because he knew if he arrested either, they would likely both end up pressing charges. Those kind of situations were always complicated, and usually ended up with reams and reams of paperwork, followed by both parties agreeing to a plea deal where they both dropped the charges against the other, leaving Ed with exactly the same situation he would have been in if he hadn't arrested either party, a hand cramp, and about four inches of pointless paperwork.
The man clearly had grounds to file charges for assault, while the woman would certainly want to make the theft of her items known. It might be a bit of a rough justice, but Ed figured thief getting pummeled, returning items, and a mutual informal agreement to not press charges was about as fair as things were going to get. Maybe the thief would think twice before trying again.
Was that a pokeball? Ed let the woman retrieve it, though he gave Zaire a hand signal to be aware.

Once the ball was in her hands, she pushed the button to enlarge it and then released out the pokemon in the bright red glow. A little Vulpix materialized in front of her and Koorie knelt down to carefully turned the small pokemon about, inspecting for any damage. Her face was etched with pure concern as the fire fox glared and growled at the thief on the ground. Satisfied that her companion had no injuries, the woman stood herself back up to her full height and smoothed down her short skirts. Her piercing red eyes stabbed through the man.
"I sure hope you have a pokemon on you, because you've pissed off two very dangerous ladies." Her voice rumbled with the hint of a growl and Miu stood beside her, fur bristling and teeth bared. Once again, the police man was left outside of her tunnel vision.

"Ah, ma'am? I do understand your desire to act in an aggressive manner toward the thief, but I really must ask you stop doing him physical damage, or suggesting that you will attack him again," Ed reminded the woman.

Koorie glanced at the officer, then focused her attention back on the man. With powerful strides, she was back at the man and she used the bottom of her foot to push the man fully back to the ground. She wasn't exerting enough pressure to hurt him, just enough to keep him in an extremely vulnerable position as she bent over and spoke softly in that dangerous tone of hers.
"You are damn lucky that there is a cop here because if there wasn't? Well, lets just say that you'd be worst off than Humpty freakin Dumpty. There wouldn't even be enough of you to find for DNA evidence. Now, if I ever so much as see you anywhere in this city again, I will hunt you down and I will make you wish your mother had been born barren." She stepped off of him and grabbed the locket from the ground first, then whistled to Miu, who took the money in her mouth. As she walked back from the man, she glanced coldly over her shoulder. "Get the ******** out of here...."
She then turned to the cop. "I'm not holding charges, I think he's learned enough."
She didn't admit it, but under that cold exterior she was shaken up; she'd been targeted for thieving attempts before, mostly with pokemon and Team Rocket, but she'd never actually had an intrusion like that in her home. What made it worse was that this man had single-handedly made it personal by taking both her pokemon and her mother's locket. As the thief made a run, she watched the officer to see what he would do, the fist clutching the locket trembling.

Ed examined his nightstick. "If we were in Johto or Kanto, I'd bring you both in on principle. But we're in Zatao, and things are a little wilder here. So if neither party wants to press charges, I'm going to call you even, and suggest that you," here Ed looked significantly at the thief, "get a ticket on the first boat off this continent. I'm thinking that's a mighty fair offer, so if I were you, I'd take it and run before the lady or I change our minds." Ed gestured with the nightstick in the general direction of the docks and raised an eyebrow.

It took the thief no time at all to get up, and he stumbled as he got he feet under him and made his way as quickly to the docks. He wasn't dumb enough to stick around when he'd just been given a pardon to get away scott free.
Once the thief was safely out of her caring zone, her shoulders slumped a little and she felt her whole body relax. Her hand still held a white-knuckled grip on the locket. Kneeling down, she ran a hand over Miu and buried her face into the small pokemon's lock of hair at the top of the head, inhaling deeply before looking up at the officer with a calm, serious expression. "So what are you really going to do."
