User Image A fine fine fine day it was! A smile was settled on the female's face, her hooves carrying her along, her head held high. Another search for the perfect stallion for her was to be settled out, planned and the like. Her ears twitched and her coat was shining beautifully.

But today wasn't to go as planned, and when that became apparent, the female was rather cross. What was this? And who? This female in her place of rest and drinking? "You there!" She called out from the small hill she stood upon. "Do tell me your name and business here!" So rude not to call out for her attention! And what coloration! Goodness it was so strange and un-kind to her eyes.

What a large creature she was though! Not at all a good thing for such a small mare as herself. She would need to be careful in case the other was a barbarian of some sort.

It had been only a little while since Digitalia had followed the trail of migrating kirin to this new world. In many ways she was happy to leave the old world behind. That is where the attack had happened and since coming to this new world everything had been peaceful and she had found no signs of the upright creatures in this new world. She was however torn because she had hoped that she would be reunited with her family again and get to see her home. However this would not happened her old world had been destroyed, that is what the Goddess had told her. She still help out hope that one day maybe she would be reunited with her family. It was possibly they may have come to Theia during the great migration. But for now she was alone and it had been that way since she arrived to this world. All the kirin seemed to have their own family and friends and when they got her the dispersed and she found and path and followed it on her own.

It was from this path that she had found herself in this nice lush meadow. The grass was sweet and the sun shown done warming and comforting her. There was even some fresh clean water nearby for when she got done grazing. She was grazing on the sweet grass when a voice from nearby made her jump and dart off to the nearest tree. She slowly peered out from behind the tree to see a strange creature smaller than herself. She was a little curious of this creature. It was not a kirin but it seemed to have something about it that reminded her of kirin. She was a little worried that this creature might hurt her. Even though Talia was larger she was certain that the small deer like creature must have some hidden ability, why else would she speak to one bigger than her so harshly.

She decided she better answer it's questions. "I'm Talia," she called out, not moving any closer. "I was just resting and then grazing here." She tried to seem as calm as she could, though she figured hiding behind the tree probably made her look quite timid. She readied herself to attack with her horn just in case this creature decided to rush at her.

"Talia?" That was fine. And the way she reacted... it made Maru less tense. She moved toward the mare, holding her poise, taught from her mother. "Tell me what you are. I've not seen anything like you before." She tilted her head. "You are strange.... Oh, I am Maru`Nai. Call me Maru if you so need." Her small tail flicked out, and she shook her short mane.

Talia relaxed a little especially after the little mare gave her name. She slowly came out from behind the tree and took in the sent of the mare. She didn't seem to be a threat.

"Hello Maru," She said in a slightly timid way. She gained a little more confidence to answer the mares question "I'm a kirin. You haven't seen any on my kind here? I was hoping there would be others. We came from another world. I actually have not see your kind either. What kind of creature are you?"

She was more curious. She thought it would be good to learn about this new world and the creatures in it. Better to know who is safe or not.

"I am called a Kilen!" She stood straighter. "A child of Mother Theia's blessings. I've not seen any of you....Kirin, around here. You said there were more?" She shook out her raven mane. "Maybe they're somewhere else? You never know after all." Her short tail flicked, eyes settling on the taller being again.

"Are those markings...normal for your kind?" She moved, looking over the one never before seen. "And these....are they scales?" That was....pretty. She would admit that. "Another world...is it like ours in any way?"

Talia found herself become more relaxed around this Kilen as she entered conversation with her. "Kilen, I shall remember that," she said saying it over in her head to remember. These creatures seemed to be friendly and intelligent. "The Goddess has given my kind her blessings by allowing us to stay here. Many of my kind made the journey, but I went off on my own when we got here. I'm sure you will run across more," She said this in a distant manner while gazing at the horizon. She wondered if she would ever see anyone she knew again.

The small mares question brought her back to the moment. "My markings are like those of the flowers around my neck. I'm much brighter than most. They are able to blend in much better than me," a lot of the times she wished she did not stick out like she did. She felt it would save her from danger if she could blend in like normal.

Talia laid down on the ground. She felt that it would be more respectful and easier to talk to the mare at her level and she could use a rest. "Yes they are scales, you can touch them of you want. Is that a feather tail you have?" She asked curious too about these Kilen. "So far our worlds seem pretty similar. The plants and animals are different though, makes it difficult to know what is safe to eat. What is your favorite food?" She wondered what Kilen ate, they had interesting teeth and wondered what they were used for.

She moved back as the female lay down, ears twitching. "I have no feather tail... but oh what a beauty I would be then!" She seemed happy at the compliment. The flowers... "Those are very lovely... I don't know if we have any here." She would need to explore, but that would be tedious.

Carefully, her nose touched the scales, her eyes shimmering. That was pretty... "Do they shed?" Her head tilted as she sat down. "I could teach you about surrounding food... my favorite is berries of any kind. I could show you a few."

Digitalia looked closer at the mares tail. "Well I think you are pretty still." She hoped that she would see the flower she was named after again and the thought made her a little homesick. She felt that there were many things she would never see again. She turned her thought around thinking that some things were probably better to never see again.

She focused again on Maru who was now nosing her scales. She tried to lay still has the Kilen did so. "Yes they do shed, but usually only a couple at a time. I haven't been eating very well lately, so there are probably more loose and ready to come off than normal."

Talia looked around at her surroundings again. "I would love to learn from you about the food here. I like berries too, they have a nice sweetness to them."

"I don't mind letting you stay for a while." Her tail flicked. "Do you want to see the resting places first? Before we go to eat? It's almost my meal time." Her eyes moved about, looking over the grass to see which way she felt like going that moment.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 25, 2012 11:22 pm

"Oh that is very kind of you. I wouldn't want to be a nuisance, so I promise I won't stay long. Just long enough to get my bearings."

Talia stood up ready to follow where the mare lead. "I think it would be good to know where is best for me to rest that wouldn't be a problem with you...If you could show me that I would be grateful. And then maybe something to eat," She said with a friendly smile.

She thought to herself how nice it was to have someone around who treated her like a guest. It had been so long since she had such hospitality.

"Follow me then." She tossed her head, turning toward the right of the hill that she came from. "For one as large as you, there is little to fear."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 30, 2012 3:18 am

Talia followed the smaller mare. She wondered at the mares words she had many fears and that was much of the reason she was skittish.

"I have found much to fear in my journey's but hopefully I can try and put those behind me."

She tried to stand more confidently...but no matter what there still seemed to be some fear in her heart.

"Then you come from a scary place." Her eyes shut. She was moving ahead a bit more. "There's a large place for you to rest under an overhang here..." The hill was a bit steep on the other side, a worn path showing where the female walked each day. She motioned with her head toward the place they were going, a small pool of water trickling in from the hill.
