Starting up a compilation of VO's info, cause he's so awesome and we love him. Through my conversations with him in his recent GCD thread we've learned a lot of classic plot details, most notably how grunnies actually work. So I'm going to compile this info just in case the thread gets nuked.

1. VO supports a Grombie re-release! VO I think enough time has passed that it would be ok to do it. Of course, I don't make these decisions, so I have no idea if they'd actually do it again. Perhaps as a cash shop item? That way it would still kinda be rare and it would be worth it for Gaia to spend resources to bring them back? 3nodding xcrimsonlegendx Hey VO, since you were there at the time, would you ever support the idea of re-releasing the 05 Grombie skins?
They're rare now, you really hardly see a user with them and many of us want them badly. We all know the 05 event turned out less than satisfactory with all of the user competition and we'd love a chance to earn them once more.

VO So, the original Grunny was labtech 101's pet from the original GCorp incident, and he was basically the progenitor to the later Grunnies. The Grunny process that you are talking about though is actually a lot more gross than you think. So basically it works this way: 1) Grunny Virus gets into your bloodstream. 2) Virus finds its way to your brainstem. 3) Your brainstem becomes infected and slowly a Grunny starts growing at your brainstem. 4) As it grows larger and larger, the Grunny actually starts to take over the rest of your brain using a green chemical that it secretes from its tongue which actually weaves into your brain pathways. This is why your eyes start to turn red and you become a Grombie. 5) Your hair falls out and the bumps on the head start to show when the Grunny is almost at maturity. 6)Eventually, the Grunny bursts out of the back of your head and the Grunny appears to be om noming on your head. In reality, it's tongue is actually still embedded in your brain, which allows the Grunny to pilot the human host as if it were its own body. I drew lots of sketches on the process, if I ever find them, I'll post them up for you guys. You might recall, there was an old Gaia Wallpaper that showed an Xray of a person't head with a Grunny embedded in it. Gotta dig that up somewhere sometime. xd Hope that all made sense! ninja xcrimsonlegendx I totally agree. :3
Sorry for all the Grunny talk, it's not every day you get to ask someone who was there behind the scenes. On that note I had one more Grunny related question for you if you don't mind.
I've spent many years speculating on how the Grunny reproduces, since you created 'em I was hoping you could shed some light on things. Basically from my own research I've concluded the following:

Grunny bites a victim, baby grunny grows in their head, grunny bursts out, new grunny bites someone and starts the process all over again. The truth about them is slowly fading away, nobody sees them let alone middle stage with the head nubs, the one that has the grunny bulging out the back of the head.
So, am I right in my assumption? I bet I'm looking way to far into this but I'm fascinated by them.

VO Yes! That's the wallpaper I was talking about! xd To answer your question, the Grunnie's can sustain themselves by nourishing their hosts. Since they pilot the body, they can make it eat if necessary. Most of the higher brain functions are dead at this point and the person starts to take on characteristics of bunnies, hence the mouth and nose deforming a little. Though keep in mind that a Grunny is still a virus by nature, and therefore it's prime directive is to bite other humans and reproduce to take over more and more bodies. That is its main motivation. sweatdrop xcrimsonlegendx So I was basically right, except for the end. They basically control the host and stuff. So I guess Grombies aren't even really zombies then, they're just vessels for the grunny.
I'd assume that eventually to reproduce the grunny would have to abandon them eventually though, maybe after the body starts to decay or is damaged beyond use?
Oh and then there's this, trust me I'm a fanatic my friend. :3

VO I guess they are zombies in the sense that there is no higher brain functions in the person, and that the Grunnies themselves don't really have a brain either, they just follow their natural instincts to reproduce. The original G virus was a cel combiner, and if you recall, if it has nothing to combine with, it amplifies all of the characteristics of its host. Therefore, the viral nature of the Grunnies came from how bunnies reproduce in large numbers. That's how the original Grunny was born at least. The later ones were made from tests on the original Grunny which distilled it down into a viral weapon. Haha, I can't believe I still remember this stuff. xp xcrimsonlegendx So....
1. Grunny bites someone 2. Infection spreads to brain stem 3. Grunny fetus develops 4. Baby grunny attaches to brain stem via tongue 5. Grunny starts to poke through head 6. Grunny breaks out and controls victim with it's tongue 7. Grunny controls host to infect more people
So basically the host is just a shell and the parasite uses it to feed. So they really wouldn't be zombies at all then right? They're alive because they're still feeding and their bodies are still intact. So really a Grombie is just a living husk that's mutated by the g virus. The virus combines the cells of the grunny with the host making them look rabbit-like.

VO Hm...so the original Grunny actually was just a lab experiment with the G-virus, but in reality it had nothing to do with the original Zombie outbreak. If you recall, the original outbreak started when one of the labtechs killed another with a syringe full of G-Virus. So his dead cells merged with his living cells and created the original zombie outbreak. I really didn't follow the later iterations of the Grunnies, prunnies etc...so I really couldn't comment on that. But the newer strain of Grunnies(when they were still green), was definitely a refinement by the Elftechs using the escaped Grunny that escaped when Gambino's mansion burned down. I like your descriptions here though, good work on that! 3nodding

VO Hm...If I recall correctly, X set the Grunnies free and they caused the mansion fire. LabTech Kestin VO, you seem to remember a lot about the early days of plot. (Yay, that rhymed!) So before we delve more into the mechanics of our beloved G Corp, I have to ask. Who set fire to the Gambino mansion, and what was in that pill bottle?

VO Ok, I'm gonna answer two questions from two different people here since they are both related in a way. X - His motives have always been that of a whistle blower in the large conspiracy. He himself was an experiment gone and therefore he always made it a point to reveal what was really going on in G-Corp. You'll notice that's why he tipped off the community in some events of G-corps inner workings. He also gave people the cure in one of the events as well I think. X had always known about the truth about Gino and Gambino's merge. That's why it was him who intervened at the cliffs, he tipped off Cindy Donovinh because he wanted the world to see the truth. If you'll also notice, at one point when Gino is morphing after X injects him, he yells "I should've gotten rid of you a long time ago." That's actually Gambino talking because X has always been a nuisance to him with regards to G-corp's secrets. X released the Grunnies and destroyed the mansion to reveal to the world that Gino still had a lab. Now, for the pill bottle... Basically, when the Gambino side of him started to resurface, Gino grew long hair, looked older, and started acting very unlike his former fragile self. He started showing signs and Labtech123(now doctor 12, the only surviving member of the original Labtechs) gave him those pills to surpress Gambino inside of him. When Ian saw it, he didn't quite understand it, but he knew that something was off about Gino and wanted Sasha to see that. Of course, he never really got the chance to, but Sasha found out the truth anyways. dramallama xcrimsonlegendx VO, VO, Okay answer the BIGGEST question in the history of the manga...
What was in Gino's pill bottle that Ian thought would make him look bad?! He ran off to show the bottle but the mansion blew up but we never found out what it was that he thought was so important...

VO Funny story about Labtech 123.. the only surviving member of the original Gcorp labtechs... One of the admins was playing his character but basically gone/out of town while we were roleplaying the labtechs. Because of that, he actually missed the original zombie outbreak and therefore never got turned into a zombie like the rest of the labtechs. So, we ran with that and basically had him change his identity to Doctor 123, who was secretly labtech 123(though who could tell with that name change? *sarcasm*) ...who took care of Gino after he resurfaced on the beach after the Tower fell. xd
