The meaning of destruction; the act of destroying or the aftermath of being destroyed. So what are you when you’re stuck in the middle? A human that’s experiencing the aftermath of being destroyed and standing right in the middle of the path of destruction? At the edge of the apocalypse, the world is being torn and shattered by a deadly virus that spread throughout the human race, as fast as leopard would run for its next meal. Riots, terror, disease, everything crumbled like the crust of a pie. It destroyed everything.

That was the act of destruction, and now the humans live in the aftermath of it. The ones who survived that is. Most ran to hide, protect themselves from any other dangers of the world. Some stood and fought against one another. Others went on their own business, indifferent from the rest of the world. There were rumors that some of them even went mad, that they were still infected with the virus. Where cities once stood, with grand proud buildings looking out over vast lands, only ruins remained. Scaffolding showing its bare bones, metal twisted around metal. Roofs peeling off buildings, like the skin on an orange. Buildings lay on their sides, unable to stand the pressure of not being maintained. Some streets became rivers, roaring through with fierce force, broken bridges becoming the waterfalls. Airports had forests starting to grow around them, trees choking and strangling aircraft, making them forever grounded. Without the control of humans, the earth is changing. Water flows where it hasn't been permitted in a hundred years, while the sun bakes the rest of the land, creating deserts out of once great plains. A fine sand to remind of the deadly virus. Animals prowled the cities, grown wild and savage in their own fight to survive. The virus has allowed mutations to seep into the new generations, making them more monster then creature.

Where were their protectors? Where were the angels that once were believed to watch over the humans, where were the demons just waiting for them to drag them to hell? Forsaken and waging a war with an invisible enemy, the humans had no idea of the truth. The war that raged just out of their grasp. All the forces of Heaven and Hell could not help them now. With the angels and demons battling each other, and the first fallen angel, and ruler of hell missing, there is no hope in sight that the war will end soon.

The humans are now caught, alone and defenseless. They are on the path of destruction but are suffering with the aftermath of it. One word describes it. Annihilation.

THE RP IS OPEN!

Blackness, boom, boom, boom, bang. The girl’s eyes shot open, chaos around her, violence everywhere. A bloody body fell to the ground next to her and she screamed. Scrambling to her feet, the girl ran. She didn’t know where she was running but it was very, very, very far away from where she was. The streets wound in strange and unfamiliar directions, and everywhere she looked there was fire and bullets flying past. Everything was going absolutely insane. She tripped and skidded across the pavement. Looking behind her, she panted and screamed; there were people after her, and they all looked very angry. Hyperventilating already, she clambered to her feet, her dress getting ripped on a piece of twisted steel nearby as she sprinted away. She couldn’t breathe, she could barely see, she didn’t even know where she was going. That would be her downfall as the black-haired girl skidded to a stop at a wall in an alleyway. A frightened whine already came from the girl as she slowly turned to face the men who had followed her.

“Well well, look who we have here. A lost pretty girl in the wrong neighborhood… what do we think boys? She sure looks like she could suck a golf ball through a garden hose. But I think she’ll have to settle for us.” The girl breathed rapidly and pushed herself against the wall as hard as she could. She hoped the wall would fall over behind her. Her heart pounded faster than she thought possible and she simply let out a low squeal before one man cocked his shotgun. “Nopleasedon’thurtme! Ijustwanttogoplease!” It occurred to the girl that she couldn’t remember anything about what had happened before she woke up. It also occurred to her that she had about 8 men who all wanted to use her body for their own perverse pleasures. “Pleasejustletmego!" The leader laughed loudly and the others followed suit. “Look little miss, I don’t think you understand your position here. We’re gonna have our fun, and then…” The man shoved the barrel of his shotgun into her mouth as she screamed. “Then we’re gonna put a bullet in your head, and then we’ll have more fun with your corpse.”

Tears streamed down the girl’s face as she tried to turn her head away from the gun in her mouth.
“Ah ah, little miss. You’re gonna hafta stay veeeery still if you want to keep your head. Now, I’m gonna take the gun out, you scream, and I’m gonna have to blow your toes off.” The leader pulled the shotgun out of the girl’s mouth and she sobbed quietly. “P-please… please… just… l-let me go…” The girl whined and the men laughed as they approached her. “Please… somebody help me… I don’t want to… to…” She sobbed loudly as the men surrounded her with evil grins on their faces.

=====

A scoff could be heard on top of the building nearby the group attacking the girl. Zeratahka frowned as she watched what was going on from the edge of the building. "So weak and powerless... How does it feel? Hope you enjoy it." Despite being the cause of what was going on, Zera had no interest in watching. She stood up and extended her wings, flapping them once and taking flight, figuring her problems with the Lord of Hell were over. She hadn't forgiven Lucifer for what he did, she simply had a long time to sit and stew, plotting her revenge against him. When he came and asked for her help, it shouldn't have been a surprise that she lashed out. She didn't want to kill him outright, just make him powerless, make him suffer. Chuckling as she flew Zera wondered how long that girl would last in this sort of world. She scanned the city from up above as she flew, looking for prey to take advantage of. The world had gone to hell, in a manner of speaking, which allowed her to be as noticeable as she wanted. So what if people saw her flying around, she'd just take advantage of their curiosity and then kill them. Zeratahka was a banished demon with all her powers, a rare and dangerous sort of demon. One with a grudge, all her powers, and not an ounce of good in her.

From the top of a heavily damaged and rooted building Lilika could see a girl running from a group of violent men, and she gave a hiss as she quickly dropped from her perch to hoist her riffle over her shoulder and cross to their general direction as fast as she could. <******** pigs" she cursed as she rushed to come to the aid of someone who needed her help. she new the type, they were an adverse side affect of the recent virus, rogue survivors, people who didn't give a ******** who or what happened to anyone around them, a form of insanity.

Lilika fell upon the scene just as the man pulled the gun from her mouth and she bit her lower lip in anger as she saw them shuffle. she could barely see the girl from her point, but knew what they wanted, she was probably terrified. Lilika chewed on her lower lip as she thought of how she might be able to draw their guns away from the girl long enough for her to pick them off one by one, these men were unsavable, she had no mercy to even spare them their lives at this point, she knew what they had done around the city.

Setting her riffle on a crumbling wall slowly so she wouldn't attract attention she suddenly took out the man with the riffle before the group, managing to shoot another three as he fell and they jumped to look for the source. Lilika was careful to shoot any who were a direct threat to the girl before she had to move from her spot, dodging the last three men as they rushed her with heavy pipes or hammer, direct combat weapons. Holding a clearing just behind her hiding spot she let her military combat training kick in as they last three moved in close to try and beat her down without any guns. she could see the red infection changing the color of their eyes as she dodged swings and grabbed a large man who was swinging to wide, twisting him around to shield herself from another aiming to strike her in the back, she shot the man after her hit his partner and stepped back to shoot the last one as he was raising a metal pipe to strike down on her head.

the last man fell backwards before her and she took a few moments to assess the situation, dead body's bleed on the floor and the girl was still pinned against the wall hyperventilating. Satisfied that they were alright Lilika stood from her crouch and readjusted her gun too sling it over her shoulder with a strap before slowly making her way to the young girl. "you okay?"

The girl screamed as the men around her died. Even if they were threatening her, seeing them all shot and killed and bleeding out on the ground was terrifying to her. She breathed rapidly as she willed the wall behind her to fall over or her body to squeeze through the small cracks in it. Her breathing sped up even further as her heart hammered in her chest like a jackhammer. She whined as the purple haired woman approached her, she was still scared out of her mind. "P-please don't... hurt me... I just want to go..." The girl was about to say "go home" but she realized she didn't know where home was. She couldn't remember anything about where she was, who she was, how she got there in the first place, even her own name eluded her. As the woman got closer the girl shrank away from her, trying very hard to squeeze through a mouse hole in the wall. P-please... I don't... want to die..." the girl stammered out, not wanting to anger the woman. She had no idea what to do, she was backed into a corner, and couldn't do anything to escape.

Lilika stops as she approaches the young woman and watches her scramble to get away, "please don't do that you might hurt yourself..." Lilika sets the gun down as she walks slowly with her hands out to the girl. "i wont hurt you, i want to help you, your going to be alright now just trust me"
Lilika was worried that this girl could be one of the diseased since she didn't seem to know what was going on. "ill let you come to me when you are ready, but please relax, nothing will hurt you now I'm here to help, do you know where you are or how you got here?"

The girl's breathing slowed as the woman tried to calm her down. She wasn't sure what was going on, but maybe the purple haired woman was telling the truth. Maybe she wasn't a threat, maybe she only wanted to help. Calming down as the woman approached, the girl looked at her with her red eyes. She looked like a kind person, she had a kind face, if a bit dirty and rough, but still noticeably pretty. "H-help me? N-no... I don't... where am I? W-what is this place... what's going on... I-I can't remember anything..." The girl stammered out a reply as best she could, she really had no idea what was going on. Sinking down as she felt her legs go out from under her, the girl slid down the wall and sat on the ground as tears streamed down her face. She was unbelievably frightened, and confused, she couldn't even remember what her name was. "Y-you're not going t-to hurt me? R-really?" The girl tried to get to her feet, using the wall as support. Getting to her feet, wobbling slightly she moved along the wall around the dead bodies and towards the woman, her dress dirty, with blood on it and slightly ripped along the side. She didn't know why she trusted this woman, maybe it was because she saved her from the men attacking her, that and she seemed to have a trustworthy face.

Away from the crumbling cities and anarchy, a young man sat alone in the woods, muttering curses under his breath as he tried again and again to light the heap of dry kindling laid before his feet. His matches has run out long ago, along with all the lighter fuel in the small bic lighter he took off a corpse about a month ago. His only other means of a spark, an old rusted welders tool, was making sad crackling noises while the bits of metal scraped against each other after one too many times. He would need a month drought to light anything with the haphazard spark or tool flying from the old tool. The young man sighed deeply as he gave into defeat. The metal scrap tool was tossed, it's worthlessness now only extra weight he would need to carry otherwise. The feeling of stones hitting falling into the pit of his stomach ricochet throughout his being, realizing what this all meant. One could not survive in the woods without fire. He needed the heat, the cooking resource, and most importantly, the protection it provided from nighttime creatures. Thank the on sabbatical gods that mutated evolution kept the beasts natural fear of fire in them.

Tobias fished the dry, paper like birch bark from the pile of flameless twigs, and pocketed it before standing. He adjusted his heavy, military grade bag on his back, before starting to weave through the trees towards the nearby city. The two hour hike through the trailess wildness, over rock and stream was nothing for the once aspiring botanist. Since the death of his parents, the woods had been his home, where he lived a nomadic, though rather lonely existence. But at least, it was an existence that was not tainted by that virus that would threaten to take his sanity and humanity from him, before his very life.

As Tobias broke through the tree line, his anxiety rose by at least 10 levels. Cities...nothing but a sewer of chaos, and human remains. Once a place you could consider yourself decently safe, now a place where you could get killed just for having sturdy shoes on your feet, if the virus doesn't get you first. Tobias pulled his shotgun from his shoulder, took out the safety and kept it ready. He didn't feel like being unprepared in a gun fight. He carefully walked along what once was suburban houses with pretty little green lawns, now crumbled and decayed, the lawns growing tall with weeds and wild grass. Tobias searched some of these houses, finding little to nothing. They had already been emptied of anything of use, so he continued onwards.

Moving further into the city, Tobias soon heard the cries of other humans for the first time in months. First a female, and then several males, accompanied by gunfire. Tobias quickly made a beeline towards the sound. Gunfire meant corpses. Corpses meant supplies. All he needed was a lighter, matches, anything so he wouldn't need to try and figure out what raw flint looked like. As he approached the scene, Tobias hid behind a mostly solid brick wall. Peaking around the corner, he was slightly surprised at what he saw. A pair of females, surrounded by several male corpses. Usually the group with larger numbers won...but that didn't seem to be the case here. Tobias kept himself tucked behind the wall as he continued to watch the two girls. He was hoping they would just leave, and not think to raid for supplies. One seemed traumatized after all and wouldn't think about such things he guessed. But the other looked more prepared, more willing to do anything to survive.

The lines didn't seem to end. The slow movement of tormented souls queuing through the gates of hell. This whole nearing apocalypse thing was really increasing traffic. Seemed sin was the go to survival plan these days. And with heaven acting as chaotic as the humans, no one was bothering to sort out the ones who sinned for good and whatnot, sending them all right to hell. More humans to beg and plead for their torment to end. The female demon Nyxrin was sitting atop the open gate watching the humans move along with a bored expressed. Beneath her, four of her conjured fire imps pushed the souls along, pricking them with little flame pitchforks if they held up the line too much while they piled around Nyxrin, begging for mercy, that there had to be a mistake. There were a few of course who didn't beg, and just went on through the gates. And then there were those who would actually try to threaten her. The big big tough ones in life who though they could rule in death as well. Well...they didn't tend to act as tough when a fire ball shoved itself down through throats, or when imps shoved pitchforks places where pitchforks should never be. Guard duty could be a dull, lowly job, but it was a start. Nyxrin wanted to move on from this someday, but for now she had to just grin and bear it till the next opportunity came along.

The demoness' crimson tail swayed gently in excitment as another set of guards were coming to relieve the current shift from duty. Nyxrin's fire imps one by one disappeared in puffs of fire, burning souls as they went. Nyxrin hopped down from the gate, landing gracefully on the ground below. At only 252 years old, Nyxrin was considered rather young still, not having even grown into her wings yet. In demon terms, she was basically a teenager. Her long tail continued to sway behind her slowly as she moved from the gate and passed by her fellow guards. She was only just past the gate when she conjured up an circle of fire. Within the circle a portal formed. As she didn't have to be on guard again for quite some time, she wanted to visit earth for a while and see what old sins were being committed in new ways.

In a human city, a fire was blazing on top of a building. Nyxrin's portal formed among the flames and the demoness walked out. She walked to the edge of the building, a two story brick house, and sat down atop the structure's roof and settled down for the show. Murder, rape, deceit, humans came up with the most entertaining way of doing such things. Watching them gave Nyxrin ideas for things she would do to the troublesome souls that passed through the gates of hell. But on this day, when she expected to see only humans, she caught sight of something else. At the spread of large leathery wings, Nyxrin's eyes focused on the sight of another demon. Nyxrin hissed loudly as she recognized the face that was flying closer to her. "Well lookie here, one of the fallen. Is Lucifer's little playtoy bidding time to beg for her position back hm?" Nyxrin said, quite loud enough for the other demon to hear her. Demons fallen out of grace with Lucifer were despised creatures, hated and shunned by almost all other demons. Legends said, most fallen went to find a way to die after being kicked out of hell. So it surprised Nyxrin to see this one still up and flying around. Not yet downing in her dishonor and shame yet it seemed.

Zeratahka came to a complete stop in the air when she heard the voice of a young demon call out to her. Looking down as her wings flapped slowly, she growled and flew to the building, landing softly on the opposite edge from the demon who called to her. What she said hadn't gone unnoticed. "My my, I didn't think they let children out of hell before they could fly." The girl would pay for her insolence one way or another. No one insulted Zeratahka without paying for it. "Do you have a problem child? Because if you're lost and can't find your way home, I'd be happy to send you back where you came from." Zera growled but kept her clawed hands at her sides, her wings flapping once before folding up behind her back. "But maybe you ran away, things haven't been going too well down there from what I've heard. I suppose things are only going to get worse as more and more things go wrong up here. Taking on Heaven's overflow, and with a shortage of demons too. I bet you weren't even born the last time that happened." Zera smirked as she thought of how things could only get worse for the bastards down in hell, it wouldn't be long before they noticed something very important was missing and scrambled every which way to figure out how. They wouldn't connect the dots, they weren't smart enough without their leader.

Lilika held her breath as she saw the color of her eyes and resisted the urge to drop and grab her gun, instead focusing on the fact that her eyes were colored red, not the whites, just her pupils, strange for a black haired girl to have the color, but it wasn't unnatural just rare. "cant remember huh?" she asked relaxing slightly as the girl made her way in her direction, she smiled a little at her eagerness, the others would be happy to help her.
"well don't worry now, there are plenty of us survivors hiding out in the city, keeping together" slowly she reached a hand for the girl, dropping her defenses to let her get closer and feel less threatened. "we have a doctor with us too, he can check your head for injuries if you want, sounds like you might have amnesia... do you have a name?"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:26 am

The girl continued inching her way towards the purple haired woman, feeling calmed as she spoke to her for some indiscernible reason. The girl took the purple haired woman's hand and breathed a sigh of relief as she released herself from the wall of the building she was sidling along. "M-my name? N-no... I can't remember... anything at all..." For a moment the girl relaxed with a sigh, completely forgetting about the eight dead bodies laying around them. Her relaxation was not to last as she saw the man with a gun looking at the both of them from around a corner. She froze instantly and stammered out a whisper, "I-is that man a f-friend of yours?" The girl tried to point him out as subtly as she could, holding up a finger, pointing at where the man was, but in a position where only the purple haired woman could see. She didn't know who he was, and she couldn't see much of him from where she was standing, she thought he might be one of the men who attacked her, but they were all dead. Maybe he was their lookout? Or a straggler of some sort? The girl's paranoia ran rampant through her brain as she started breathing rapidly again, deathly frightened of what could happen.

It started with a small light, cascading across the sky, small and subtle as it traversed the heavens above. Slowly the shooting "star" suddenly changed direction plummeting downward the ball of light illuminated all that was around it, the ruins of the city it fell into seemed, if only briefly, to return to their former glory. As the light drew closer to the cracked concrete and remnants of a once prosperous society it began to take shape. If anything could stand to look at the light the way it was they would see it slowly take a human form, first started a bone structure then organs began to develop which were soon covered by a layer of muscle then finally covered by radiant ivory skin. Black hair sprouted elegantly from the person's head, his eyes closer head tilted slightly upward with his arms outstretched. As the final rays of light became covered by the now skin covered being there were still six vertical dots on his back where the pure light still sprouted. The light was soon masked by the form of six dazzling white feathered wings, he flapped them softly, feathers gently fell from the pristine visage gently falling to the ground. Feathers from his wings soon fell onto his body, covering him before they melded into clothes, a black trench coat with no sleeves, underneath formed a black plated vest that looked like something out of a sci-fi film, even angel's needed protection. Dark brown loose fitting pants formed over his legs and finally on his feet formed dark brown boots.

Exhaling loudly the man slowly opened his eyes onto the world around him. Staring gently for a moment he turned around, the ruin and decay was not a hindrance for him this was actually much better then what he had expected to see when he returned to this world. Looking straight up he whispered. "Eli Uriel Dominium" The name that he had been given in this body, if one understood the dead language Latin they could decode his name, as if his glaring six wings weren't obvious enough. Slowly starting his journey he didn't exactly know where or to what he was walking, the Seraphim are the highest order of angels, but there are secrets of this world that only the almighty Lord above them knew. As he walked he heard the soft shifting movement of something climbing over the turned over cars and the crumbling stone. Glancing out of the corner of his eye he saw what at one point was probably human, but now was a husk, a mutated shell that once clung to humanity. The creature's arms hung limply at it's hunched sides, large wart like pustules dotted it's body and face, small tufts of shriveled hair could be seen on its head, it's dull grumble of a moan escaped it's swollen lips, drool slipped from the corners of its mouth as it slumped forward.

Eli watched as the "thing" shuffled towards him, but what sort of life could this thing lead? It was a forsaken life, one that lived only in pain and anguish. As the creature drew closer Eli raised his hand out as a single fingertip touched the creature's forehead a small white light shot from the monster's forehead, which soon spread throughout its entire body then it simply disintegrated into a shimmering dust blown across the winds. Eli continued on, only whispering a short utterance for the poor creature lost in a world that had long sense past it's prime. "Go now in peace."

From the sound of the clashing of metal only two things could be assumed, either someone was having fun, or someone was being killed. Luckily it was the former not the later, upon further inspection one could see a tall man with long black hair and pale eyes, with a wide smile on his face holding a crude bent metal pipe and two boys in front of him both holding equally crude weaponry who charged forward in an attack. Lloyd, the man in question, was sparring with a couple of kids whose parent's he could only assume were dead from all of this....Well everything, the world wasn't a very fun place as it stood now. He swiped his pipe it collided with one of the boy's pipe parrying him to the side. He reached his hand out grabbing the other boy's pipe, the cold metal surface making a soft thud noise just before Lloyd spun throwing the boy behind him. He looked at them smiling a bit as he said. "Come on now, if I were a mutant I would have eaten your guts by now, now try again." He said to them with a wide smile. The boys soon got up nodding before they charged again, their efforts reaching a similar goal as did the first attack.

Lloyd stopped letting his pipe fall to the ground, he looked at the two and stepped forward, kneeling down so they could look him in the eye. "You two need to be strong in this world, it's not always fun and most of the time it won't appear to be fair, but just keep it up, walk each day never looking back and strive for the next, just stick in the settlements and you two will be fine, you've got each other to rely on so stand firm for now." With that Lloyd stood up and dusted off his pants, just before he started to head out.

Kaya’s head shot up when she heard the gun shots. She had been previously studying the park next to her, or rather where the park had once been. Now it was covered in debris and fallen buildings, there was even bones scattered about, where the dead humans had fallen, never to get up again. Presumably some of them had even fallen in fights, lack of food or even the virus itself. Shaking her head, she returned her attention back to her work. She was researching at the moment, trying to get together what had actually happened through seeing it for herself. Yes they got reports and they could look down at it, but in the middle of a war you got very little chance to study it for yourself. She knelt down on the ground, hidden by an overturned car. She had no wings at the moment, for they were only visible in her proper body, which in reality didn’t exist. She did however have her sword by her side. She had obtained permission for this a few weeks ago, but recent attacks had stopped her going until two days ago when she had finally she had enough of waiting for the enemy to attack ‘just in case’ and left. She had been studying since then. And most of it was proving fruitless.

She ignored the world around her, trying to study the interesting complex of these cars. The humans thought they were so much more powerful in these, or at least they had once thought like that. Now it was a scrapping of twisted, burnt metal. Former leather seats still had the lingering of the burning smell around it. Scratching the back of her neck, she sat back, looking at the curious green shaped flat tree she had pulled from the car. Air fresheners. They hung from the mirror in their car to try and make it smell nice. Often only left a nasty pong behind and then the smell would finally die out altogether. It was not worth the money it was put together with. She didn’t understand at the time why the humans insisted on having one and she still didn’t understand it now looking at it.

Sighing she looked around for any surviving humans. She had heard the gun shots but that could have been someone shooting themselves so they wouldn’t have to suffer with the virus. She was probably unlikely to reach that person before they died. They did it so carefully, there was no second chance. In fact the day she had arrived as she had stepped in the city someone had fallen in front of her, leaving a large splat mark on the pavement. That had been the only living human she had briefly seen. The rest had all been dead. She wanted to grab one and ask them a million and one questions but she was probably unlikely to be able to grab hold of one. They hid themselves so well, shadows were now their friends.

Biting her lip, she stood up; dusting away the dirt from the clothes she had formed into. They weren’t the most practical, short brown skirt on the dress; it did provide warmth to her body and she did wear darker brown shorts underneath. She had long brown stockings with leather shoes, leaving enough flesh exposed but they did well and she was hoping to use to lure some of the men out, even if they were dirty thinking. She would have to see if she could purify them. As she was about to turn around and leave, she heard further noise. Maybe she could find her human now. Looking around quickly to see if anyone could see her, she raced after the noise, scampering through buildings. She was interested now. Gun shots could mean anything but metal clashing … well it didn’t seem like any buildings had just collapsed.

She stopped and hid around the corner when she almost skidded into view of three people. Two kids and an older person. A man-boy. He was looking like he was about to leave. Maybe she could grab the kids and talk to them. She was excited! She could see humans that weren’t dead! Or about to die. She was trying to keep quiet; she didn’t want to scare them. That metal looked curious. Were they using it as weapon? She hoped they wouldn’t whack her across the head but they should be fine! She was an angel after all!

She stopped mid-thought. Maybe that wasn’t the best line of support to her case, after all she didn’t have any wings at the moment. Hmm, her thought trail started again. Maybe she should find some feathers and stick them on cardboard and then find some way to support them on her back. The humans did it all the time when they were trying to play angels! Or maybe she should approach them with a white flag! She could just tell them she was an angel! Maybe they would believe her. After all the humans were normally so trusting. They wouldn’t hurt an angel would they? Those metal pipes said otherwise though, she thought to herself looking around the corner again, bottom lip out as she tried to think of methods. They showed humans spying all the time like this around the corner of a door or building on those shows on … the television, or so she believed it was called. So it should be fine whilst she was trying to think of a plan of action. The cardboard wings was looking very tempting right now.

"I've lived three human life spans. That hardly makes me a child." Nyxrin said simply, her tail snapping against the brick like a whip as she stood and faced the fallen demon. The snide comments fell on deaf ears. Nyxrin only grinned, as she moved slightly closer to Zeratahka. "Only the deranged or disgraced would run from hell. Or in your case, both. Pity you didn't age gracefully this last millenia."
Despite the comments, Nyxrin's attention was caught by the last thing that Zera had said. She was right, Nyx hadn't been alive last time hell had such an overflow. She heard the other guards talking about it, but the shear number of souls she say day after day seemed unreal. She had no idea where all these souls were going, how they were being kept under control. It wasn't something she had to worry about as a gate guard, but it was a constant curiosity to her. "What happened....last time hell was like this?" She couldn't stop herself from asking, her horned head tilting slightly.

Tobias continued to watch the two females in silence, hoping that they would just leave. Though the longer he watched, he realized that if he had to fight them for the resources hidden on those bodies, it would be close to just a one on one fight. The one girl was delirious, scared, and couldn't even remember her own name. His stomach gripped at the idea she might be suffering from the insanity part of the virus, but he soon let go of that thought. He knew the progress of the virus, knew what it looked like. She didn't look the same way his parents did when they reached the delusion stage.

The woodsman cursed, rather loudly, when the girl pointed back at him, directly at him. He knew he had been spotted, despite his attempts to remain hidden. Knowing there was little point in hiding now, Tobias raised his hands in the air innocently as he rose and came out of hiding. His shotgun was still less then innocently held in his hand. He was spotted sure, that didn't make him a complete idiot. "I don't mean you ladies any harm. I'm just looking for supplies is all." He explained quickly, "And no, that doesn't mean I was planning to mug you. I've seen what you do to people who try and hurt you." He added, just in case. They would notice that Tobias didn't look like other city dwellers. He looked well fed, healthy, and clean. While he tried to keep himself somewhat groomed, he was sporting a two day old stubble along his jaw. And other then some grass stains and whatnot, his clothes looked about as clean as a stream could make them. He didn't exactly give off the impression of city street thug or anything.
