[PRP] Three of a Kind (Ivory and Emil)

It was kind of weird how Pokemon seemed to land in his lap. He didn't have to work very hard to acquire them. The creatures just seemed to come to him in some form or another. Each of his handful of Pokemon had its own story about how they ended up in the care of one very timid boy, Emil Castagnier. Some might call it dumb luck, some might call it fate, but Emil preferred to think that Pokemon just liked him. Or at least he hoped they did. It would be kind of bad to end up with a Pokemon that didn't like him after all. An example of that would be his first one, which was the reason it was still with his aunt and uncle.

Another Pokemon had found its way to Emil, and now the boy was carrying it around with him. A white Espeon with red eyes that squinted against the sunlight. The Pokemon was blind, and he knew that, but she still seemed to be able to sense light and dark. The boy really had no idea how to take care of a blind albino Pokemon. He guessed he would just have to wing it and hope for the best.

The Espeon's forked tail swung lazily as she relaxed in the arms of her new owner, quietly scanning the area around them with her psychic abilities. While the blonde boy just continued to go on his stroll, with no particular destination in mind.

The day's errands had consisted of purchasing some sewing materials for a certain project for a certain friend's Pokemon and going out to lunch. A girl in a purple coat all bundled up like it was winter, even though it was summer had tended to the first of the two errands. The second had yet to be attended to.

And on her shoulder, a certain Pokemon was letting her know quite blatantly that this needed to be remedied soon.

"Ditto dit! DITTTO DIT!!!" The white jelly pointed to her belly (or what one could assume was a belly) as if she was demanding to be filled up.

Despite how the Pokemon was giving her such a hard time, the girl managed to hold her parasol steadily above them. "...I know you are hungry, Opal... but calm down... when we find a restaurant... we'll get something for both of us!"

The ditto's mouth formed a rather squiggly line for a moment before she blinked, then straightened up a bit. There were new friends nearby. New friends WAITING to be made friends with! The Pokemon's tone changed from obnoxious pleading to a more cheery pleading quite quickly. With her stubby arms, she tugged slightly at Ivory-friend's coat collar.

"Ditto to ditto dit to?"

Behind her dark glasses, the girl glanced to the Pokemon. She was quite familiar with that tone.

"...you sure? If we stop to make friends... we won't get to the restaurant any faster..." A black gloved hand reached to the side and patted the Pokemon on the head with the thumb.

The blob bobbed up and down, which was her version of a nod.

With a sigh, the girl relented. "Okay... let's see who we meet today!" She began to walk in the same direction as a blotch of colors, though a heavy portion seemed to be white. Her purse and her bag of recent purchases were hanging off of one of her arms, and the other held onto that parasol to keep both herself and her Pokemon quite comfortable.

The white Espeon's large ears swiveled a little bit as she heard the sounds of another Pokemon and sensed it as well. A ditto? Or was it?

"Espeeee," the white psymon cooed softly, gaining Emil's attention.

"Huh? What is it Byakko?" The boy looked a bit confused as he really didn't know this Pokemon well enough yet to be able to tell what she wanted. He did stop though as the white Espeon wiggled in his arms a bit and then jumped down.

"Wait! Are you sure you should do that?" Emil now sounded worried, unsure as to how the Espeon would be able to do anything without her sight. However, the white Pokemon walked softly in the direction of Opal and Ivory, using her psychic senses to find her way.

It seemed as if the white blur of color was a Pokemon, for it abandoned the main blur and was making its way to the duo independently. The girl knelt down, then scooped up her Pokemon and let her down upon the sidewalk. "There, do you want to go and say 'hello?'" Ivory already knew the answer.

The false transform Pokemon giggled with many a high pitched "Dit dit dit dit!" With much ease, she began to make her way like a slimy slinky over to the other white Pokemon.

However, when she was close enough to make out what the Pokemon was, the ditto then glowed for a moment before taking on the same form.

Two Espeons were always better than one!

Carefully, the new Espeon prompted the other in a friendly manner. "Espy espeon..." She leaned her face in close, nose twitching as she gathered the scent of the other.

As the white Espeon walked off, Emil followed and soon figured out what had attracted her attention. There was a white blob looking thing slugging its way towards Byakko and the boy had to blink in wonder. Bending down, he watched in amazement as the blob transformed into an exact replica of his own Pokemon.

Oh yeah, there was a person there too. Having been distracted with the Pokemon, he hadn't noticed Ivory at first a looked a little sheepish when he finally did.

"Oh... um... hello," he greeted nervously. "Your Pokemon looks just like my Espeon," he then said, stating the obvious.

"Esssspeon eon esp." The true white Espeon spoke back in a soft but friendly manner, leaning in to sniff at Opal as well.

The bundled up girl was able to hear the conversation between the two Pokemon, which easily led to the conclusion that there were two Espeons nearby. She also managed to hear another voice greet her, which also confirmed that it was an Espeon. Looking in the direction of the voice that had spoken to her, she smiled a bit.

"...might I ask what color your Pokemon's eyes are?" Sometimes white Pokemon had blue or golden eyes to match the color. Which meant of course that Opal would indeed look similar, but not identical.

Being so close, Opal could see that the new Espeon-friend was very similar to herself, eyes and all. Though she was giddy, she managed to keep her voice down to something quieter as she spoke to the other. "Espeon eon esp esp espy!" The Espeon was just like Opal. In a happy, playful manner, she then flicked her tongue out and gave the new friend a quick kiss on the nose.

Emil was a little startled at his comment being met with a question, and a bit of an odd one at that. He looked at the two Espeons and then back to the girl.

"Um... they're red. Why?" He then paused and fidgeted, as if trying to decide if he should do something or not.

Couldn't the girl see? But she was kinda dressed weird. And she had those glasses on. Maybe she was blind? He wanted to ask but it might be kind of rude.

The Espeon was considerably calmer and oblivious to the fact that she and Opal looked alike. She tilted her head as she listened to the other Pokemon, and then jumped slightly, startled that the other had licked her.

"Eooon. Espy es espeon." Byakko was happy to make a new friend, but she didn't know how she was just like Opal.

The girl smiled softly at the reply she received. "Ah, so she is just like my Pokemon then..." The girl lifted up a gloved finger and pointed to the edge of her dark glasses. "I'm sorry, but it is hard to make out colors with these glasses.". The girl glanced to the two espeons and noted how one moved quite rigidly away from the other. In a gentle tone, she scolded the false one out of the pair. "Opal, be sure to play nice."

The momentary espeon confirmed she would play nice with a gentle "espeon." In another gentle manner she warned the other Pokemon of her plan of action, which was to nuzzle the other pokemon's neck slightly. "Espeon esp esp espy espeon." Carefully she leaned in and rubbed her about slightly against the other. At her new place she introduced herself and asked the other's name. "espeon esp espy eon esp esp?"

Ivory looked to the boy, still holding her parasol over her head. "How long have you had your espeon for? It seems like quite a sweetheart!"

Emil made a soft "oh" at the explanation that she couldn't see colors well with those glasses. Well that kinda made sense, he thought. It still didn't explain why she was dressed in those strange clothes when it was so warm out, and with an umbrella when it wasn't raining.

"Oh, um... not very long," he admitted with a shy smile.

"Espiiie," the real Espeon said softly in appreciation of the warning. She nuzzled the other back in a gentle fashion, not at all minding Opal's affectionate gestures. When asked her name, she again tilted her head then folded her haunches in a sit.

"Espy pe peon. Espeon eon esp." She was Byakko and very pleased to meet Opal. She then tilted her head up slightly as she listened to the humans talk as well. Her face turned somewhat in the direction of Ivory, but not quite. "Eon esp?" Was that Opal's friend?

The girl giggled a little at the boy's confession. In all honesty, she could tell he was new to owning this Pokemon. She wasn't sure specifically how she could tell, but she could.

Carefully, she extended one gloved hand out to the boy and held it out towards him. "I would love to know your Pokemon's nickname... as well as your own name. Mine is Ivory. Ivory Woods. And my Ditto's name is Opal."

The false of the Espeon duo pulled her head back so she could nod (though she was unaware her companion wouldn't be able to see such a motion).

"Espy espeon peon esp esp!" That was Ivory-friend!

"Espeon esp espeon eon!" Ivory-friend was just like them too.

"Eon esp esp..." Even if she was a human.

Turning about to face the trainers, the false of the pairing moved forward before pausing and gently sweeping her two-tipped tail to touch her new friend's forepaws, signaling that she wanted Byakko-friend to follow.

Emil was at first puzzled as she extended her hand out to him. He blinked, looking at her hand, as if he didn't know what she wanted or what he should do. That is until she introduced herself, and then it clicked.

"O-oh," he said as if in sudden realization. Standing up fully once more, Emil shyly extended his hand to give her a weak handshake.

"Her name is Byakko," he said in his small, almost squeaky voice. "And m-my name is Emil. Emil Castagnier. It's n-nice to meet you. Both of you." And there was a small sheepish smile at the end of that.

"Eeeeeeon," Byakko said softly, prolonging the word as if saying "ooooh."

So they were both, like her? The Espeon had never before encountered anyone like her, let alone two at the same time.

"Espeon eon eon?" Had Opal been with her trainer long? This asked just before she felt the tail of the other Pokemon against her paws. Standing up, she slowly followed, able to track Opal with her psychic senses even if she wasn't able to see her.

The girl smiled sweetly, holding to his hand a little firmer than he seemed to do amidst the handshake. "It is nice to meet you, Emil. And that is quite an interesting name for your Pokemon. Byakko..." Unfortunately, the significance of that sort of name was lost on Ivory.

Soon enough one of the Espeons had managed to weave her way about Ivory's legs. Despite how identical the two Pokemon were, the girl could tell which one was hers. It had everything to do with how her Pokemon held herself up.

The girl knelt down. "I see you made friends with Byakko, yes Opal?" Her gloved fingers rubbed behind the Pokemon's ears before extending her hand to the approaching Byakko so she could sniff the gloved hand should she want to.

Once at Ivory-friend's hands, the false of the pair leaned into all the pettings, enjoying the scratches behind the ears she usually didn't have. "Eon esp espeon espy..." Though time was usually lost on Opal, Ivory-friend had a tendency to keep track of the number of years that she and Opal had been together. So the answer to Byakko-friend's question was 'nearly ten years now.'

"I-it's nice to meet you too," Emil stammered, looking embarrassed for no apparent reason. Honestly he just wasn't very good at being social. The boy was far too timid. At least he did speak.

"Oh, the lady who owned her before, gave her that name." He hadn't named the Espeon himself and had no idea what it meant either. And while Ivory could tell the two Pokemon apart, Emil couldn't. they both looked exactly the same to him.

Sensing Ivory's outstretched hand, Byakko tilted her nose in the air to sniff then leaned forward more closely to better catch the scent of the new girl.

Leaning back again, Byakko's mouth formed into a tiny "o" of wonder.

"Espeon? Espy esp eeeeon." Ten years? Byakko hadn't even lived that long yet.

Still holding her hand in front of the true Espeon, the girl looked back to Emil. "Oh, so she's a traded Pokemon? I've heard that Pokemon gain experience faster if they are traded... I don't know how true it is since I only have Opal. And I have no plans to trade her."

Byakko seemed to sniff her hand, then pull back, signalling to the girl that the Espeon was done investigating her scent. With that, the free hand went to rub under Opal's chin.

The false Espeon lifted her head slightly and swished her forked tail from side to side contently. As the other Pokemon seemed to wonder about the mere length of time that the pair had spent together, the disguised ditto didn't seem to have any issue explaining things.

"Espy espeon peon espeon esp espy espeon esp espy espeon."

"Ivory-friend was sad and lonely, so Opal became Ivory-friend's friend."

Freedom as a wild Pokemon had been fun, but Opal also never really minded being a domesticated Pokemon either.

Since there was Byakko-friend's friend there, the false espeon excused herself briefly to say hello to him. Soon enough she abandoned the splendor of Ivory-friend's chin rubs and managed to weave her way towards the boy.

The bundled up girl giggled slightly as her own Pokemon abandoned her before returning her attentions to Byakko. "Would it be okay if I pet you, Byakko?" She held out her hand once more to the Pokemon, once more to allow her a sniff or two should the Pokemon want it.

Emil now was scratching the back of his head sheepishly. "Oh no, n-not exactly." Or rather not at all. "A lady gave her to me. Said she couldn't take care of her anymore." And that's how the boy ended up with a white Espeon. Pretty much the former owner dumped her on him. Naturally, Emil couldn't turn down taking care of an abandoned Pokemon.

"Espeon on espy peon on."

Byakko had never known what it was like to be a wild Pokemon. She had been bred and bought in captivity, and then found herself with this new boy.

When Opal came over to Emil, he wasn't exactly sure if it was his Espeon or the girl's. Regardless, the boy reached out to pat her on the head.

Byakko then turned her attention in the direction that the other human's voice came from. She dipped her head in a nod, giving Ivory permission.
