Mephistopheles vs Lotus [FIN]

Rolled a three: Grass field: The breeze from the stadium air conditioners rustles the flat grassland arena that has replaced the default stage. Small clouds of harmless pollen fly through the air from the breeze. The land is completely flat, making maneuverability easy to those build to walk on land. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GRASS and BUG type attacks

Lenore looked up at the pollen floating around. I wonder if they taste like marshmallows.

At her side, Mephistopheles gave a short wave before floating down to the grassy field below.

Lotus was buzzing by Dreidyn's side while she was standing on the platform. "Isn't the field so pretty?" She said wistfully. Her comment only elicted a shrugging motion from her Pokemon. Sometimes her trainer said the weirdest things.

"Good luck to you!" She said to Lenore. "Let's go!" Dreidyn shouted as Lotus flew out into the meadow.

"Ok Lotus!" Dreidyn smiled as she called out to the hovering Vibrava. "Start off with Bite!"

Lotus zoomed towards the Duskull with gaping mandibles.

Mephistopheles failed to dodge the attack, retreating backwards before bowing. "Greetings. I am Mephistopheles. I am your opponent, good luck." He raised a single hand, firing a jet of ice at the vibrava.

Oh man she was really starting to hate ice moves! "Hang in there!" She shouted as Lotus was spiraling from the cold attack. "Restore health with Giga Drain!"

Lotus straightened herself again and flew at Mephisto, her mandibles glowing green this time.

Mephistopheles felt his strength being sapped. He quickly disengaged from the vibrava, flying away. He sent another blast of ice as he did so.

The last Ice beam attack was a doozy and Dreidyn wasn't sure if Lotus would be able to survive it. The Vibrava spun out of control and landed in the grass, but managed to pick herself back up after she flapped the ice off of her body.

"Yeah!" She cheered her Pokemon on. "Go for a Giga Drain again!"

Mephistopheles phased out, allowing the vibrava to pass harmlessly through him. He turned and launched another blast of ice after Lotus.

Lotus cried out as another Ice Beam blasted her in the chest. She did not want to lose a battle to quickly! She lunged at Mephisto for another Giga Drain attack.

Mephistopheles failed to avoid the attack, feeling his health sapping away. He quickly fired off an ice beam at the vibrava.

Her determination allowed her to dodge the latest Ice beam attack. Powered by her success and Dreidyn's cheering, she closed in for yet another Giga Drain attack.

Mephistopheles fired off another ice beam at the vibrava.

Lenore grabbed a bit of pollen and tasted it, promptly spitting it back out. It did not taste like marshmallows. At all.

Realizing that they weren't going to recover enough health in time, Dreidyn needed to switch to a different strategy at the last minute. "Lotus, Supersonic! Now!"

Lotus was weak and her wings weren't beating as fast, but for this last most she gathered up the rest of her strength to create an ear piercing screech.
