Maintaining a superior defense is the pride of the Moon Division, defending even at the expense of attacking. However, this can be hard, especially for trainees who just got new magic weapons full of glowing and powers. Thus the Princess Island. At the center of the island sits a princess who will do absolutely nothing to protect herself, and it's up to you to build defenses that will withstand shadowling attacks so she she doesn't die in a horribly realistic manner.
There's four main paths for shadowling's to travel through, and you have 3 types of building materials to create your defenses from: straw bales, wood, and bricks. The sturdier the material, the sturdier the barrier, but the fewer you can build in the allotted time. After a set amount of time, the princess will crush a pumpkin pill, attracting varying amounts of lurking shadowlings. You get to watch helplessly from the observation station, without getting to attack yourself.
These creature are extremely weak and ill formed, coming up against a solid defense they will disperse, but in turn they also weaken said defense. When a defense goes down, they go right to the princess and attack her. Should she survive the wave, you get to go back down, rebuild, and do it again.
If you fail: the princess has died, horribly, and you've wasted a lot of time on this only to look fairly incapable. All things considered? Most pleasant course to fail.
If you win: peen points and bragging rights go to those with the healthiest princess and lasted through the most attack waves.
If you choose to go beyond 5 rounds, switch the enemy dice roll to 4 d20s.
Mechanics
Your princess has 20 hp
First, roll the strength of you defense, using the dice for whichever building type you choose.
Brick: 4 d12
Wood: 8 d6
Hay bales: 12 d4
The order of the die determine the HP for each barrier location. For example, with bricks, rolling 5/6/8/1, would mean that path 1 has 5 HP, path 2 has 6 HP and so on. With a wood roll of 3/3/3/1/2/5/5/2, the first 2 dice would equal the amount of the first path. Brick would be the least math-y of the building materials (you lazy asses.)
Roll 4 d12 for the attacking forces. Once again the order of the dice correspond with the path being affected. Then do the math to determine the status of your defenses and princess.
Example:
My defenses are 5/6/8/10
The attackers are 3/7/3/8
The result defenses are 2/-1/5/2
Negative numbers are taken off the princesses HP, leaving her at 19 HP.
Go back and rebuild your defenses in the same manner as before, you'll be building on top of old defenses so you add the new defense HP to the remaining defense HP. Negative numbers = 0 HP for the defense, not negative HP.
Minimum rounds to complete the course is 3
Bonus Mechanics
Their defense expertise allows them to build slightly sturdier barriers. This applies to all paths that start at 0 hp. They do not stack. So if you are re-building on a barrier that lasted from an existing round, this bonus does not apply, as it is already still in effect.
Trainees: 0 hp bonus
Moon Trainees: +1 hp bonus to each path
Hunters: +1 hp to each path
Moon Hunters: + 2 hp to each path

Dakota stretched as he looked at the training regimans for Moon hunters. Unlike his brethern in his team, Dakota really only attempted one course. Marcus's favorite from what he heard, the Deathsweeper. And failed miserably from it.
He wasn't about to let that happen again. He yawned as he picked one at random, one actually meant for Moon hunters....
Huh...Princess Island. Sounded like he could save a damsel in distress....
But first, maybe he needed a damsel. Sighing, he flipped the phone that grew with contact everyday and scrolled through. Ami: No, Rin: No, Saya: Hell yes but no at the same time...Ceres.
now that was a name he hadn't seen in a long time....grinning, he sent her a quick text and headed for the moon training grounds.

Nyxtsuki Moon FINALLY TAGGED SORRY stupid question though, because theres two of us does one of us roll for the barriers and the second for the attacks? Or do we both roll for barriers, add them together, and both roll for damage too? Ceres herself had not expected a text message from someone that day, though she SHOULD have grown used to receiving messages by this point. Still though, she jumped as her pocket buzzed with the message. ...Dakota was her superior now? Well well, things HAD changed since she had been stuck inside that damn pod. Not only that, it seemed news of her ah, arrival, was back. She just hoped no one, besides candace, really knew of where exactly she had been for a while. Just from her talk with Bix alone told her that she had missed SO much. Flipping her phone open, she replied to the message with a simple 'on my way' reply. Showing up around 10 minutes later (hey she had to gear up!) she approached Dakota with a small smile on her face. "Long time to see, stranger." They she got a look around where they were..princess island. She had heard of this, but never taken part in one of these before. One of her stands of hair was loose, clearly indicating how quickly she got ready. Taking her hair down for a moment, she pulled it back up in to its particular fashion once more. Her hair was way too damn long to leave down, it reached the middle of her back! "I see you ranked up since i last saw you, congrats!"

Dakota watched as long legs, pretty green eyes and Black sweeping hair rushed over the training ground. Thank god for Ceres, One of the sexiest moon trainee's around.
"Hey there bright eyes." He saluted her, "You certainly rushed over. You could be fashionably late...It's good to keep a man waiting...it builds...anticpation and tension..." He winked.
His grin got wider as he nodded. "Yep! Moon intermediate, This close to being a hunter..." He pinched his fingers together. "So..This training..." He stretched. "We're here to save a princess Beautiful. By setting up barriers like so..." He went through and demonstrated, "And then we wait for an attack. Who's ever princess survives....4 rounds lets say...Is the winner." He grinned. "Hmm but then i would have been predictable, and you sir would have known far too well how a womans mind works." She winked at him in good nature, laughing and shrugging her shoulders. It was a good thing she was used to flirtatious men, she had to deal with it in college. That was mostly due to her curves. "Four rounds sounds fair, best princess wins." She waved him off with a smirk as she too went to prepare for the attack. Ceres had, thankfully, looked in to the mechanics of this training mission previously. She had never run this one, but she at least knew what she was doing. "This is so like you too, saving the princess." The raven haired woman called from her spot on the island, maybe he could hear her? "Saving damsels in distress? Cant let your reputation down." While he had sent for the more solid items, she decided to start with the wood first. While Dakotas defenses looked more solid in some ways, in others hers were not bad either. She honestly did not feel like picking up the heavy stuff... just yet. This was okay. "Well it can never be a bad thing to be surprised," he returned easily, of course, enjoying the small play of words between them. One thing he learned to enjoy was when a woman counter flirted. It was fun.
"But then, You'd be the winner wouldn't you?" He winked again, grinning as he finished his set up. He watched over her in general to make sure she didn't push herself...and realized that would be silly. They were both hunters and both strong ones. He really needed to realize that women were just as strong as men. After all, Clerise was point of that.
"Is it?" He seemed amused by her words, of course he would save the princess. "Well I'll be honest....I am only after one thing when saving the princess...." He grinned...."the reward kiss at the end is always the best.
he sat back by the princess doll he had set up...watching the creatures attack his barriers. "Think I'll name her Abigail. that's a pretty name." Princess Abigail...not as pretty as Princess Ceres.

"You know, thats actually one thing i never understood." She called out as she placed her last barrier, happy with three of them but... one of them she did not have enough time to fortify better. "Why is it that the princess kisses the guy in the end? I mean, wouldn't a thank you be enough or is the kiss required?" Moving back towards Dakota she watched as the creatures attacked the barriers, wincing a little at one of them. Yup, totally not strong enough. She would need to fix that next time. "I mean what if the princess doesn't want to be saved, or wants to save herself?" She gave the man a sidewards glance, curious how he would reply to that. She knew if SHE was a princess, she would try and save herself first. "s**t, looks like you won that round. I think im going to name my Princess, 'Ididna'" She frowned at that, mentally asking if she could pronounce it differently. She said it as 'Eye-did-nah'. All in all, Abigail had only taken minor damage. He peered over at Ceres to see how well she did and smiled, Her's might've taken a bigger hit but they were still close to each other.
"I don't know. I feel a kiss is adequete reward for sticking your a**, neck and other valuable parts on the line for the girl. Sometimes I think guys should ask for more..." Dakota wandered off on that thought, "in all the stories, its a perilious journay with battles and death and life and s**t. Anyways. Kisses are the best and we should stick to that. He grinned, "But since Abigail can't give me a kiss at the end of this little heroism...wanna do it for her?" He chuckled.
"Back in the day..." He said with a old voice, "Women weren't like you, or any other woman of this generation. They were taught to be meek and quiet and soft. Shame. I like fiery spirited fillies." He frowned at the name...That was a mouthful to say.
And then laughed...Hard at her explantion of it.
he was like dying of LOLZ in his corner.
"God, I knew there was a reason I liked you Ceres." He wiped a tear away, "Clever indeed."

"Well i have yet to meet any meek, or humble, women on this island so far." She had also not met everyone yet, so there was a chance they were somewhere! "So if there are any they must be few and far between." She tilted her head up and gave dakota a look of total defiance, before allowing her features to return to a grin. He liked them fiery? Well, Ceres was most certainly closer to a spit fire than meek anything, she was sure as hell to give you her opinion. "I still think the heroines should be able to save themselves. " She noted with a wink. " Makes me wonder if the men only saved them for a little action." After making that note, she too went back to working on her own fortifications. She chose wood again, liking how it held up the last time... besides that one path. She had a suspicion that path was the one that would give her the most trouble. "Randomly did you notice this is almost like that story with the pigs? Only the stupid princesses are the pigs and the attackers the wolves. Hm wonder what that makes us?" "Again, Not a bad thing. The more fight, the better the chase." Dakota grinned, tucking his hands in his hunter pocket and prepared for the attack again, Abigail standing strong in the center of the barriers. He was disappointed at one of them though, it looked...super weak.
"There's fame and glory too. I slayed the dragon when others couldnt..." Dakota looked back at her, "If it was me though, I'm in it always for the lady. If I am going to risk my neck, I want it to be for a pretty pair of eyes, slim and soft figure and sweet voice. Just saying." And thats how Dakota rolled after all.
blinking, He laughed and then nodded. "Well, oddly enough...now that you mention it....This training was probably set up by Julie or something. She would think of Pigs for training."
"That being said, how do you know Ceres...That I am not the big bad wolf?" He wiggled his fingers at her. "I am just luring you to me with this training so I can devour you all up..."

"You know i barely know you and if someone ever asked me to describe you, i think all i would need to say is dark hair and 'ladies man', or perhaps 'skirt chaser', and i think anyone would know who i was talking about." Her tone was teasing, but part of her words were true. He seemed to enjoy a good chase. "If you were the big bad wolf you wouldn't be up here talking with me, you wouldn't be even looking for kisses from Abigail. You would be down there with the attackers as well trying to gobble her up." She smirked back, watching with amused eyes as his side of the trials went down with a bang. HAH, thats what he got for using hay! If he chose wo- "Ah s**t!" She swore looking at her side as she heard a bang, well... more like GLARING down at the field at path 3. "That stupid path 3 has been giving me nothing but trouble, all of them tend to concentrate there!" The woman grumbled under her breath, promising death to the attackers if they would not leave that damn pathway alone. "Ill go all big bad wolf on them myself." Did she hate losing? yup. "I'm sure somebody would get me mixed up with someone else. I can't be the ONLY ladies man here...or something." He sincerely hoped not because...Pressure. plus there was H. H was like a classy perverted guy. Dakota IDOLIZED the life hunter.
"No no no Ceres. You only ravage a female if she is willing. In all honesty, I like tenderness the first time and exploring that afterwards." Though his first time had been with Clerise, It wasn't bad. In fact, it had been amazing. And like a teenager. It had been special to him. Good learning process.
"I think they sense its weakness dude. Its not like mu path 1 is any much better. Pretty sure though my princess is faring a little better. Distress over on your side is feeling very...distressed." He laughed at her mumbling and headed down. "Build it up Babe, and we'll see how well we do now." He started building and then went to the top, waiting for Ceres to finish.
