Mephistopheles vs Archie [FIN]

Roll a Seven: Forest Field: Thick trees, some small while others greatly exceed double your own height, sprout at random places throughout the field. Giant roots provide easy excuses for pokemon to trip if they do not watch where they are going. Spacing between the trunks vary, making passage difficult for those on the ground and in the air. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to BUG and GRASS type attacks.This field also reduces damage from FLYING type attacks by 25 HP.

Mephistopheles lingered above the trees as he waited for his opponent. Lenore opened her book as she waited.

Doyle moved to his spot and watched as Archie flew to the field. The Archeops enjoyed being able to fly instead of having to shimmy up some trees.... not that Archie didn't do that still.

Archie swooped into the trees and landed on one the larger tree branches. He clutched to the the branch above him and screeched at the other pokemon. Time to get this battle going!

Mephistopheles gave a sweeping bow. "Greetings. My name is Mephistopheles, but you may call me Mephisto. I will be your opponent this day. Good luck."

He raised a single arm and a jet of ice shot forward towards Archie.

Archie didn't introduce himself cause well let's face it: his name was not fear inspiring! Instead he got hit with the beam of ice, fell to the ground with a in-dignified squawk, and had to pick himself up. He rushed towards the ghost, his claws glowing a purple color. Soon he was slashing at Mephisto with his claws.

The claws shred straight through his cloak. Mephistopheles shot an ice beam at point blank range in retaliation.

Archie was blasted with the Ice Beam attack. He fell to the ground, momentarily unable to move his limbs. After a moment he was able to get up. He looked around for the duskull for a minute before spotting him. He was then running straight for him and slashed his claws at him.

Pieces of his cloak were torn off and disintegrated. Mephistopheles continued his barrage of ice.

Archie tried to dodge the ice attack but it seemed all the ice attacks were slowing him down. Instead he was hit with the ice which was beginning to weigh him down since he wasn't even bothering to shake the ice off. Instead he charged again using his claws to attack.

More clawings, and more ribbons of spectral cloth being removed. The duskull fired off another round of ice.

Archie was hit again but this time he shook off all of the extra ice that was weighing him down. Gathering up the last of his energies he rushed towards his opponent ready to finish this battle with one last attack.

Mephistopheles fell to the floor, exhausted. "You fought well, nameless one. Honor unto you and yours." Lenore walked down the stairs and picked the duskull up, cradling him in her arms. "You were cool, Mef." She gave a short wave to Archie and Doyle as she turned and left.

Archie panted for a moment and nodded. He then turned and walked over to Doyle who was waving to Lenore. Soon they left as well, Doyle complaining about all the dripping water from the melting ice.
