I just remembered that Gaia does that login contest where they give away a Wii and some old MC letters and stuff so I was curious to see what you guys would do if you won an Angelic Halo from it.
Personally I'd just sell it to this one person in the Exchange who has a quest thread that has been looking for a seller for a few years because I really wouldn't want the item myself and she obviously wants it way more than I do. But first I'd check with people from Teh Hoarding/Vending Guild to make sure I have a correct price ._. Then I'd buy items that I actually do want and continue my hoarding quest, because there really aren't many items I actually want on here and I can't think of what I'd use the leftover gold for besides donating :/ To be honest I'm sort of a greedy Mr. Scrooge.
I actually saw this one thread in GCD asking people what they would do with 1 billion gold or something, and some wealthy users said they'd use it to keep vending or hoarding because even after they buy their wishlist items, there's still enough left where you're at the point that you don't know what to do with it all xD

Sell it. If it gets bought, I'd split the gold up between my closest friends on here, plus a good amount to my sister. Then use whatever I have left to buy some expensive avi art, and then if I have a lot left after that... use the rest to buy stuff off my wishlist.
*Edit: Oh, and I might also donate a good portion of it to those who are questing.

So it's a win-win situation by that person getting what they want and I getting overflowed with so much gold that I would instantly finish my dream avi.

I'd sell that b***h like hotcakes emotion_awesome
Since I don't really need the gold, I'd donate it to random people and/or buy multiples of my favorite item, Valhalla's Obsidian Armor, just to have the 'SQUEEEEE' moment of owning 20 of them (if I can find that many). Then I'd sell those, too.
