"...This doesn't make any sense!"

With a frustrated groan, Poke let her head smack on the table in annoyance, only to bring it back up and rub it as she hit the table a bit too hard. She had ventured into the library, and was now sitting at a table with a stack of books next to her. Her aim; to figure out what the school's was currently teaching, and to catch up on it via reading library text books

Problem was, she had no jacking idea were to start.

Her previous school had had a strict syllabus which listed everything, from scarying 101 to history, maths, science, even some magic. (The topics though were boring as batshit, hardly covered anything of use and were so ancient it made mummy history look high tech)

And so, with a reluctant sigh she picked up another book and searched through the pages for something useful.

Deacon was in the library, too, as fortune (or misfortune) would have it. He'd scoured over books before, a couple of months back, a couple of weeks ago again. There had to be something that he was missing. Of all of the jacking books they had in this library there had to be something to help him.

He couldn't let himself dare to think otherwise, or he'd likely end up shrinking into a useless little ball of fur on his bed where he'd quite literally wait to die.

The demon's feline ears perked at the sound of a ghoul's frustrated voice a couple of shelves down, and he peered toward her with a furrow of his brow. What didn't make sense? He could think of a lot of things. However, cats will be cats...

He slowly approached the table that Poke and what appeared to be a fort of books being constructed quite nicely. "Hit your head like that a few more times, and I'm sure nothing will make sense." Deacon commented casually, hands in his pockets as he tried to look over her shoulder at just what she was flipping through. Mainly, to glance at titles to see if any would be of his immediate interest.

Her ears twitched at the new voice, and she looked up to see the boil who was trying to see what book she was reading. "It wouldn't make much difference at this point" Poke said, placing the book down and pushing it across so the cat boil could have a read.

""If you raise your arms above your head your scarying attitude will be much better, but if you lower your stance to the ground, you may appear more intimidating by being eye level with your scare victim. You then must remember to either moan or roar or do something to show your true terrifying self."

"It's some book about scarying, but doesn't give me anything useful. This stuff is child play, and it jumps from one explanation to another" She explained, then looked at the boil thoughtfully. Chances were, he would go to this school, so..

"Say...I don't suppose you know about about the school syllabus?" The drgaoness asked

Peering at the book when she moved it, Deacon frowned lightly. Useless. He was a bit irritated that such drama had been over such a thing.

"Yeah, well, I guess you're new here." Deacon said, sounding almost mildly miffed over the fact. Not that it wasn't ordinary for him. "A lot of these books you've got here could probably be summed up as Scaring for Dummies... And I think it was the aforementioned that wrote most of them."

He'd been leaning over her shoulder just a bit, and straightened again when she looked up at him. The look in his eyes clearly showed distaste for the way she was looking at him - or, maybe just the fact she was staring at him, regardless of how briefly - though his tension relaxed when she asked him a question.

"I'm really not the person to ask, Darlin. You're going to start with the basics and add from there, though. Just keep in mind how many hours you're getting yourself into or they'll have you run ragged in no time. You know what they say about all work and no play."

If Poke wasn't imagining things, she could hear a edge of irritation in the boils voice, not to mention when she looked at him he all but buffed himself up, as if he was trying to appear bigger and more tougher then he was (Honesty though, he looked pretty scruffy). Though instead of hissing and spitting, he relaxed. Odd.

"Jacking hell" She swore, shutting the book and pushing it away from her. "I'm all for catching up, but I don't want to study for hours on end." With a sigh she stared glumly at the books, wondering if she could just wing it. It sounded so much easier, but she didn't want to leave a bad first impression with teachers that could apparently kicking her a** without a second thought.

"Maybe if I wait until class, I might get some extra help" She mused out loud, pausing to look at the boil again (and wondering if he would try to do the same thing again), "so, what are you doing in the library? Judging from what you say, half the books here are useless"

"Doubt many of the students want to study for hours on end. If they do, there's gotta be some things seriously wrong with them."

He really didn't have room to say something like that.

For the lack of anything better to do (Riyo had made sure to lock her door as of late, so 'visiting' was out of the question), Deacon side-stepped to a vacant chair at the table and scooted it out to sit. If she was going to keep talking, he might as well listen.

It was, admittedly, good to hear someone talking to him that wasn't yelling. Or... Whispering in his mind.

"Well, there's also, you know... Once you're in the class, you'll know what you're supposed to be studying. Kinda obviousss..."

"Hey, it doesn't hurt to have a little extra credit to get a head" She told him, picking up another book idly as he sat himself down, then resisting the urge to throw the book at the shelf when she realized it was even worse then the previous one (scarying for dummies 101. What the hell)

Deacons latest comment drew a frown from Poke, picking up the elongated 'sss' at the end of his statement, but for now not saying anything. It wasn't that strange to hear someone with a speech impediment. What bugged her more was being told it was obvious to know what to study once you were in class.

"Not necessarily" Poke replied, eying the rows of books behind them. "I have no idea what the classes will be like, and the teachers could make little to no sense. I'm just trying to be prepared as much as possible."
PostPosted: Thu Jun 28, 2012 6:08 am

"Prepared?" Deacon replied with a bark of laughter, "Amityville isn't the school you want to be in if you think you can be prepared."

He suddenly didn't look amused anymore, if one could have called his little outburst amusement.

"Advice," he said firmly, leaning toward her as if to share a secret he dared not let anyone else hear. "Trussst no one..."

The conversation seemed to normal shift from a chat between to strangers, to something a little more serious. Poke could see the demeanor change in the feline boil. Ho was no longer at ease, as her previous comment seemed to snap something in him. Her eyes slitted, staring back at Deacon uneasily. She wasn't sure what his game was anymore, and his warning made her feel on edge. What the jack was with his speech, she was taking more notice of it now.

"Does that warning include you?" She asked.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 28, 2012 6:38 am

Deacon smiled knowingly, as if he had predicted her response even before she had spoken it.

"It does," he said with no hesitation. "Especially."

And just as suddenly as he'd decided to sit down, he was up again, giving the dragon ghoul a half-hearted salute with two fingers. That grin never left as he stood, nor did his eye contact.

"Have fun with those books, Darlin. We'll be seeing you around..." Only then did he break eye contact, turning on a padded heel and walking off.

Nothing like scaring a new ghoul fresh to the academy. It certainly made him feel like he was in a better mood.

As Deacon answered her, she sat up a little more straight in her chair, watching him intently and expecting him to make some sort of move. But he didn't. Instead, he just walked off. Like that.

...Aww, how cute, He was trying to scare her!

It was almost adorable.

Almost

"Ha ha, what a dumb a**" She muttered to herself, stretching back in her chair. Did he really think that was going to do anything? Alright sure, there was the weird a** speech, but then, he might be schizo, who knew. And the 'we?' he probably had a few friends who wanted to see her after school. The idea made her roll her eyes; if they were anything like he was, she wasn't to concerned.

But then, she didn't want to get into a fight after starting school so soon. Especially if it wasn't in the gym. And they might be much stronger, she couldn't be sure.

Meh, oh well. He was proably bluffing anyway.

Whatever the case, she yawned, laying her head on the table. It was time for a afternoon nap.
