It was about time for Eli's remaining three cubs to be introduced to their real home. In order to be near Lua at the time of the birth, she had remained in the Roguelands so as not to appear as one of those lionesses who would disappear with the cubs and forbid the father interaction. She was aware not all males who fathered a litter through a fling would be interested in seeing their babies, but she wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, first.
After he had taken the other three back with him wherever he had come from-judging by his size, she assumed the Firekin-, Eli had remained in the roguelands with her band of three. Not out of hoping he would turn around, but just to take it all in. She wasn't exactly young, but she wasn't old, either. That wasn't her first interaction with a male. It was, however, the first that gave her young ins. At first, she wasn't sure what to make of it. The thought of pregnancy was always on her mind, yes. Never had she ever thought about what it would be like to have them. To feel them move inside her and know it was only a matter of time until she saw them. Watch them sleep and tumble over each other in the playful nature of a cub. It brought a smile to her face sometimes. Only when no one was looking.
The lioness was used to being depended on. But this was a whole different kind of depended. She had started her own family. Her own lineage. It was difficult for one to stay a hard stone in the face of that.
To speed up the time between moving the cubs from their hiding spot in the roguelands to the lands of the Sikukuu, Eli had carried them all in turn by the scruff of their necks, sprinting from one location to the next as quickly as she dared go with the dangling bundle in her mouth. Now she stood across the border to the pride she helped found with her green eyes closed and her nose raised to the familiar smells of her home.
Which was now the home of the three little girls at her feet.

Kakalina looked cautiously around the new lands her mother had brought her and her two sisters to live. Their other siblings had been taken with their father to whatever land he had lived in. Lina wasn't sure where they had gone or why they couldn't all stay together. To her, the Rougelands had been home. Their mother had waited a little while after they had left before she had started carrying them all in turn and running to a new destination. She watched as her mother closed her eyes and breathed in the new scents of the land. Maybe this was where she had lived before? She looked to see her siblings reaction to the new lands and went over to her mother. She nuzzled her head against her leg, trying to calm down. The move wouldn't be too bad, would it? She moved away and turned her own small nose up to sniff the air; trying to become familiar to the scent of what would be her new home. "Where are we, Mama?" the curious little cub asked.

Home. Home? Noelani did not know what to make of this new home. There were supposed to be more lions...More lions meant more cubs. More cubs meant more fun, right? But it smelled funny. She certainly hoped that wasn't any fault of the other cubs. Smelly cubs were much less fun to be around. Or so she imagined, anyway, given she had only ever been around her siblings. They weren't smelly. They kind of just smelled like mama and dust.
The little grey cub stepped up closer to her mother, trying to get a better view of what she could see given her limited height, but the image didn't mean much to her. Not yet. She wasn't sure what she was really looking at. That would probably change after she explored, though.
Just as Eli had, Noelani closed her eyes and sniffed the wind once more, hoping that maybe this time, she would be able to make more out of it. Instead a small gust of wind flared up, lodging bits of dust into her delicate little nose. The cub sneezed and scowled, quickly giving up on discerning anything from her sense of smell. It was going nowhere fast.
Bright yellow eyes looked up at her mother and her sister beside her as she spoke. The cub cocked her head to the side, curious as to the answer that her mother would give. It was a good question, one that she had been wondering herself. Where had they gone? The trek across the Roguelands had been kind of fun. Being carried along, bouncing as mama ran from bush to bush, rock to rock, never gone for too long but just enough to explore a bit before she returned. Though they were most certainly going somewhere vaguely labeled as home, the word had little meaning to the cub. What did a home have? What was a home at all?
Wasting little time after her sister's question the grey cub popped out a few questions of her own, "What's over there, mama? It smells funny. And dusty," she lamented, raising a paw to brush the last of the dust from her nose.

Home huh? It didn't seem any different other than the fact that there were more lions around. Kaipo didn't mind the place at all, but the little orange cub found herself a nice little butterfly that was riiiight by her mother's tail. Maybe if she angled herself right, she could nab it and manage not to hurt her mother's tail.
Yellow eyes kept following the pretty purple insect till she just couldn't take it anymore. Instead of sniffing the air like her sisters, the orange cub stalked towards the end of her mother, tail high in the air before preparing to strike. Being the biggest of her sisters, Kaipo needed to make sure she tried extra hard to be sneaky. Once she was close enough, the cub pounced with a small cry of "Hiiiiyaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!" before chomping down on what she thought was the butterfly.
Only for her to finally realize that the furry thing in her mouth was not a purple butterfly, but her poor mother's tail. Quickly, Kaipo pulled away and started placing her paws on her ears, sliding them down her face repeatedly, a nervous gesture that wasn't going away anytime soon. Why couldn't she be like her sisters and just ASK QUESTIONS?
"Oh! Im sorry momma! SORRY!! SORRY!!"
The poor thing really thought she had it too.

Eli lowered her head, letting the questions linger on the wind for a few minutes. Not even the tail chomp could break the spell the lands put on her. To the untrained eye, there was nothing special here. The wind carried with it the familiar smell of the other pride members, mostly feline with the small scent of canine mixed in with it. But none of them were in sight. Far as the untrained eye was concerned, there was nothing here that wasn't also behind the group.
But to Eli there was much more here than just what one could see or smell. Having grown up in the roguelands, she had never known a permanent home like this before. It was a nice feeling to be free of the chains of a pride and go where one wished to go without responsibility. At least that was what she had thought of a pride before joining one. Like a ball and chain holding her down to one place and one duty.
This one, however, was freeing. She wasn't restricted on coming and going. Thus when she came back from most of these outings, she would bring back a meal or some other treat for the pride to show her loyalty to them. And her appreciation for not being tied down to one single place. She still did her duty befitting her rank when the time for her clan's festivals came around. And helped with the other clans if she could.
The lioness ran her tail across Kaipo's head to show no hard feelings on the tail chomp. To the other two, she ruffled the tops of their heads with her paw. She took another great sniff before answering the confused trio. "I should hope to your forever home. This is where you will grow up, free of the dangers of the roguelands. But you will be free to leave when you're older if you don't like it. I only stayed in the roguelands for your father."

Kakalina was still slightly skeptical about where her mother had brought her and her sisters but with the voice Eli used to describe the place, she figured it couldn't be too bad.
She took another sniff while trying to smooth the small tuft of fur on the top of her head. She wasn't too sure what the other scents she was picking up were but they didn't smell like they were anything dangerous. She took another deep breath through her nose, this time catching a bit of dust that caused her to sneeze this time.
She rubbed against her mother's paw as she looked out at the land. She wondered if there would be others like her sisters in their new home; would they want to constantly play and wrestle? Would they like to hunt? Would they like to curl up and take naps?
She sighed, still not ready to accept that they were getting a brand new home. "Okay," she replied reluctantly, "It does look too bad." She gave another tiny sneeze as another piece of dust tickled her nose.

A forever home? That meant no more wandering, right? No more hiding in bushes while momma sprinted back and forth. No more danger, she said. If there had been any danger back home, Eli had been quick to keep it from the cubs because Noelani could not remember ever feeling threatened. Then again she could not remember much of anything.
The stray strands of tuft quickly made their way into Noe's nose, tickling out another ferocious sneeze that could have passed for an attempt at a roar. Still, the cub rubbed her head against her mother's paw, enjoying the warmth and affection. Her mother wasn't usually very cuddly and Noelani was more than happy to take it where she could get it...And then ask for more. And then when momma was done she would cuddle up with her anyways because she was warm and smelled like momma and that was the best momma smell of all.
Or something like that.
She couldn't help but let out a snicker at Kaipo and her antics. The bright orange cub obviously hadn't been paying attention...Not that Noelani had paid attention to her. But all the same, her face hiding was funny and Noelani swatted at her with her tail playfully. Maybe it was an attempt to calm her. maybe it was an attempt to cheer her up or distract her. Either way it wasn't long before Lina caught her attention as well.
Her sisters were so...silly! This was home! They should be happy. This new home was full of adventures and maybe full of other cubs. Cubs to play with! Cubs to pounce! Cubs who had tails to nibble on...
With a little leap, Noelani pounced at Lina, a grin on her furry face.
"Of course it doesn't look bad. Momma picked it out. She wouldn't take us anywhere bad!" the cub reassured with a happy voice. "There's so much to see! Don't be such a...scaredy cub...This is our life now! Even if it does smell a little funny."
Bright yellow eyes fixed themselves on her mother expectantly and Noelani could not hold her excitement any longer. Her previous apprehension had vanished among the tail swatting and the pouncing.
This would be so much fun!
