Mephistopheles vs Rei! Dark and Light. [FIN]

Rolled a four: Water field: Five large platforms float on the surface of the deep pool. Four form a diamond formation around the single platform in the center. While land pokemon can move around on this field, it is mainly built for water-types. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to WATER type attacks.

Lenore walked into the trainer box, Mephistopheles standing his usual vigil by her side. Lenore gave him a small smile and Mephistopheles glided down to float above the water.

Hmm, Shina thought. Not the field she would have chosen for Rei's stadium debut, but it was randomly generated. Oh well, she'd make the best of it. "Rei, go!" Shina called, tossing Rei's pokeball to the center platform. Rei emerged and immediately focused on her opponent, determined to do well in her first battle.  

[Qixel]

Mephistopheles granted the eevee a small bow. "Greetings. I am Mephistopheles, but you may call me Mephisto. I shall be your opponent in this bout. I wish you well."

His eye glowed as a blue-ish flame erupted before him.

"Ouch! I would say likewise, but this stings!" Rei said. Then she shook vigorously, and the sound of delicately chiming bells filled the air. Her burn faded. "There, much better. Please excuse me. My name is Rei, a pleasure to meet you. I hope we have a good battle," she said politely.

Shina saw the Duskull Mimic the Heal Bell. Okay, so that meant status effects and conditions were out. "Rei, Shadow Ball!"

Rei obeyed her trainer, launching the shadowy attack.

Mephistopheles flew back from the force of the shadow ball, but he remained above the water. He raised his arms slowly, the water before him freezing as the chill winds of the underworld rushed toward the eevee.

The frozen winds continued to rage over the arena. Lenore watched the scene from above. "Pretty."

The ice started to crack and splinter, and Rei rocked, trying to break free. "Come on Rei, you can do it!" Shina called.

Seeing the eevee free, Mephistopheles willed the storm into a fury, the winds slamming this way and that. The ice before him shattered from the waves.

Mephistopheles was struck square in the chest, and he flew back a few yards from the impact. He focused the snowstorm on capturing the eevee.
