This forest surrounds the lab, keeping it hidden from view. This forest was told to be a dangerous place so no one ever goes in here. It's a safe enough place to be, for now.

Logan cursed under his breath as he almost hit his head on a low branch, and Miranda's as well. "This is just great isn't it Carter?" He asked sarcastically, tripping a little on a rock. He normally wouldn't have, but with Miranda on his back it was a bit harder to maneuver around and watch just where he was going. He sighed softly, stopping in his tracks. "If I didn't feel so bad for the girl, I would ask her to just bring us to the subway." He said, glancing back at the sleeping brunette. The poor girl was definitely exhausted, that much was clear. And well, she was a little clear too, but she seemed to be getting a little more solid by the minute, so that was a good thing. He guessed that was just what happened if she used her power too much, like with his he started to burn himself and with Carter, her eyesight was fading. "That would be so much easier, and we could start looking for someplace in the city to hideout." He said, looking at her from the corner of his steely eye. He started up again, but at a slower pace this time. No need to injure himself or Miranda more than they already were right? And they didn't have to rush anymore. He could no longer hear the sirens, so they were a decent distance into the woods.

It was a little surprising that no one came with them, but she didn't seem to mind to much. More people would mean more of a chance of being captured. Which meant she would go back in the dark. " Ya but she's already done so much for us, she needs to rest." Honestly even if the girl offered to transport them, Carter would demand that Logan carried her. If any of them used there powers to much, it would be very deadly. Grabbing onto a tree trunk, Carter stepped over a giant rock before landing softly on her feet." True, but hey at least were doing something healthy right? Besides if we have to meet up in the subway, I would rather take my time walking threw nature." Besides she didn't want to see a certain person that had gone off for a while. Or else she just might be tempted to beat that said person into a bloody pulp. Looking up a head, Carter couldn't help but smile a little at the nature around them. It was kinda peaceful, even now when they were on the run for there lives. ❤ i won't break so easily..❤ ❀ You can take everything I have

Karmon looked at Blake, analyzing his expression. A feeling of protectiveness surged through her when she could hear the other people approaching, and yelling through amplifiers to stay where they were. Luckily, Karmon and Blake were already covered by the tree. "Alright, let's go." Karmon said, a determined looked on her face. She shifted into a squirrel, climbing up a tree, and jumping from branch to branch alongside Blake. Squirrels had more endurance the humans, plus they were faster, so she could keep this up longer. Soon Karmon started becoming the animal, but she kept the one thought through the process, Stay with the Human

Blake took no haste in running from the people. He began to run along side Karmon. She then shifted into a squirrel and ran along the branches above. Do not stop, Blake kept telling himself. He wouldn't rest into he knew for sure he was far away from that damned lab. He continued to run, but stopped at a creek. He looked up at Karmon the squirrel. He held his arm for her to jump onto. They'd have to cross together. There was no other way and Blake wasn't risking her tiny squirrel body to get swept away in the current.

The squirrel stopped at the tree, divided with the one thought, and pure instinct. No tree was close enough for her to jump, and the current was too strong to swim across. The squirrel knew this, and Karmon was too far gone in the animal to have the sense to shift back, or at least to be a better animal for this. Karmon looked at Blakes hand, flinching when his held it up. She retreated higher up into the tree, but then remembered. Stay with the Human This was very confusing, why should she have this thought. The squirrels brain was too small to comprehend the unnatural ways of its thinking. She knew she should though, there was...danger? Karmon hesitantly jumped down closer, and sprung from a branch, latching onto the humans arm. Tremors of fear came over the squirrels body as its instincts told her to run. But she stayed put, still ready to flee if need be. She looked up at the boy, and was suddenly hit with an emotion, and one word came to her. Blake. Having no use for this word in the squirrels brain it was quickly discarded.

Blake watched her run away. No. Was she so far into the squirrels mind that she forget who he was. Blake was getting nervous. He didn't know exactly how far they were from the lab. Not that far, but he couldn't hear the sirens and amplifiers anymore. So maybe they were safe. No. They weren't safe. He looked up and saw the squirrel looking at him with his beady black eyes. Then it leaped onto his arm scratching him a little. Ouch. He knew Karmon didn't mean it but damn! He decided to ignore it and slowly cross the creek. It was up to his knees and moving at a fast pace. No way would Karmon had been able to swim in it. Finally on the other side Blake set the squirrel on the ground and began running again, hoping maybe she still had enough of herself to follow him. If not he'd be on his own.

Karmon quickly jumped down when they were across, and instantly climbed up a tree, her safe haven. When the human started going, she remembered she must fallow. She jumped on the branches after him. Then after a small while, she knew she had to do something. It was like herself telling herself to do something while the other half was trying to stay in control. After a minute of struggling, she remembered she could shift. She shifted, remembering the sensation, but still feeling it as if she never had. Still feeling like a squirrel, Karmon stayed on the branch she was at, and tried to jump to the next tree. She caught the limb with her hand, not having the leaping strength of a squirrel. Hanging there, she saw she wasn't that far from the ground, not that it wouldn't hurt. She let go, having the sensation of falling before she landed on her hands and knees. the weight was evenly distributed so it didn't hurt as much as it could have. It still would leave bruises though. She shakily stood up, and then saw the boy she had been fallowing with new eyes. She hid behind a tree, trying to climb up it, before realizing the branches were too far up. She didn't remember for a second, but then slowly knew that she did recognize him. "You're....Blake." She said, taking pride in remembering, she came out from behind the tree, and saw that he had small dots of blood on his arm. She quickly remembered the squirrels memories. "Sorry." She said, and then tried to focus on who she was really. She thought she'd been the squirrel, but now she knew she wasn't. "I'm......?" It didn't come to her, but she could feel it bubbling up to the surface, on the tip on her tongue.

Hunter stopped after a long while of running with Alexis on his shoulder. He set her down and grabbed his shoulder where the bullet hit him. After a moment he realized that Alexis choked out a name earlier. Damn..did we forget someone? He thought aloud. He looked back at the direction they came from. He had to go back and get whoever it was they forgot. He turned to Alexis, seeing that she had blood as well. He torn off a piece of his shirt and bandaged her arm. Stay here and wait for Alanna and the twins. I'll go back and get the other girl. He said, looking Alexis in the eyes, placing a hand on her shoulder briefly, then turned around and headed back to the lab. Running at his full pace again, though his arm was killing him, due to the bullet was still in his arm. As he ran his body became more of a silhouette as he returned to the lab.

Alanna continued flying over the branches trying to get away. She heard shots and stopped and turned around. Hunter! Alexis! She then felt really weak and fell to the ground. The twins rolled away as she fell flat on her face. Ow. Well Alanna never was that graceful. She lifted her head up and saw Hunter running toward her. Why did she feel like she was forgetting someone... Celeste! Alanna sat up realizing she'd left the girl behind. "No!" she shouted. Alanna leaned back against the tree. Damn it! She'd failed! She meant to get everyone out, but no she forgot one person. Tears began streaming down her cheeks. She was useless. How were they going to survive if she kept forgetting things. She laid there trying to catch her breath. God. Her powers really knocked her out didn't they. She looked down and noticed it was taking longer for her to completely go solid. What?!

Blake kept running until he finally stopped. He looked around and saw Karmon as a human again hanging from the branch above. What? Why? Then she started to fall. "Hey! Hey watch it!" he shouted moving out of the way before she landed on the ground. Blake went to help her up, but she quickly ran behind the tree like she was scared. Did she... did she still have the squirrel's brain? Finally she came out realizing who he was. He smiled. "Your Karmon and I think you shouldn't use your powers so much. It seems to make you less like yourself," he said. Karmon? That name? Gah! Why was the girl so familiar? and why couldn't Blake think of it! He'd always had a really good memory in the past.

Hunter ran back through the forest, coming back to where he set Alexis down. He set Celeste down on a nearby stump. He sat down, wincing at his shoulder. He looked at him and touched it gently but it hurt. Damn this hurts...Can any of you somehow get a bullet our of my shoulder? If not its fine I'll just deal with it. He said sighing. He gripped his arm and winched again. It hurt badly but he didn't know what else to do about it. He saw the piece of his shirt he tore off for Alexis on the ground. Looking over at her he saw the twins and Alanna, well what was solid of Alanna. He got up and walked over to her. Kneeling in front of her. Are you okay? He asked her. hoping she would be alright.

Alanna looked down to see Alexis curled up against. She was about to ask what she was doing, but then remembered she had wolf DNA injected into her. She was about to answer when she spotted Hunter kneeling over her. Geez! Was she missing everyone today? She teared up more. "We left Celeste behind!" she shouted. She started crying again but looked up and saw the girl laying by the twins. Relief filled Alanna's eyes as she leaped onto Hunter in a hug. "You saved her! Oh my god you went back for her- Oh my god your hurt!" Alanna said. Once she realized she leaped off of Hunter and looked at his wound. Well wounds, because now he was bleeding from the back of his thigh too. What were they going to do? There was no way they'd be able to go to a hospital. They're faces would be all over the US. Alanna looked at the wound. Maybe she could pull the bullet out. She made her hand slip into Hunter's shoulder. Okay this was kind of gross. But she had to get it out. She felt around the muscle until she found something hard. She grabbed it and pulled out the bullet. It fell out of her hand. Very slowly her hand returned to normal. Why did her body keep doing this? "Sorry if that hurt," she said.

Karmon....hmm, i guess that's right. I didn't have a name before.. or at least, the squirrel didn't. She just nodded at what Blake said, still not completely back. Memories were starting to come to her, but did they really happen? It seemed like they didn't. I've been so many other people. She realized, and then after a minute of remembering felt like her old self, more or less. And then she realized something looking over the fresh memories of being a squirrel. "I remembered you!" Karmon stated in shock. Had she ever remembered someone so distinctly when being something else? Especially a brainless squirrel?

Blake smiled. "Yeah you did remember me. Is that a big deal?" he asked. He didn't understand. Didn't Karmon usually remember people when she shifted back? He sighed and sat down. He was tired. Running all that way was rough considering Blake hadn't done so in years. Hell he had hardly been let out of his cage in the years he was at the lab. His stomach grumbled loudly. God Blake hadn't eaten anything all day. He looked up at Karmon. "We need to find something to eat. I'm starving!" he said.
