Laying on his side, Kamala slowly blinked his eyes, still groggy from sleeping. The sun was still hidden well below the horizon, but he had always seemed to wake up around this time. He liked the stillness of it all, and it was nice to wake up and be able to just lay there lazily for awhile while awaiting the light of day.

Stretching his paws out in front of him, his mouth opened wide in a silent yawn, his large teeth feeling the cool air around him. It had been his first night out and away from his pride, and it had worried him a little initially. He wasn't sure what he should expect, being out and so...exposed. But then again, he wasn't alone, was he?

Rolling over, he came to face the shape of his lovely companion. He could faintly make out the different aspects of her face, and all of those things became more evident and pronounced as his eyes adjusted. It had been such a nice day yesterday, and Tuuli had picked out there resting place personally, taking care to make Kamala feel not too out-of-place and in the open. The spot where they lay now was like a small personal cove, with a large rock on one side and brush surrounding them on the other sides. It was a spot that reminded him of the places he would often go within his own pride, only...different.

Keeping her eyes closed, Tuuli took in a deep breath, feeling the early morning air rush through her nostrils. She normally didn't wake up quite this early; it must have been because Kamala had wanted to rest earlier than she normally would have. She wasn't used to bending to the wills of others, but it felt kind of nice, having someone there next to you as you go to sleep.

Her ears twitched a little, picking up the small sounds that she could only assume came from her new companion, Kamala. It was an odd feeling, hearing him right there, next to her, but it was actually rather comforting to know that she wasn't alone.

Willing her eyes to open, she blinked slowly, fairly reluctant to actually wake up. But, if he was already awake and moving around, then she didn't want to miss out on spending more time with him. As her eyes opened, she found herself blearily staring right at Kamala, his golden eyes seeming to be illuminated. Realizing it, she flapped her ears forward, trying to snuggle more into the ground, as if to get away from the awkward fuzzy feeling.

It was kind of comical, watching Tuuli slowly wake up. Seeing all the small twitches and hearing all of the cute little sounds - they were all new to him. He felt a little creepy watching her without saying anything, but he didn't want to miss out on it at all.

As her red eyes slowly opened, he couldn't help but chuckle at her reaction to his gaze. It was a cozy feeling, like they had suddenly become much closer. Nothing had really changed between them, but it felt so different now.

"It's not quite morning yet, but good morning Tuuli." Grinning at her, he was still trying to keep up his confidence. She had stayed with him this long, hadn't she? With just that thought, he was starting to feel more confident on his own, without having to put up a show.

Taking in another deep breath, Tuuli stretched her legs out in both directions as far as they would go. It was nice, and a good way to try and wake herself up after the long sleep.

"Ah, no, it's not." Squeezing her eyes closed, she grinned, not really understanding why he'd be up this early. She didn't really want to admit it, but she knew so little about him, it wouldn't surprise her if this was a characteristic of his.

"I have to say, I normally don't get up quite this early." Rolling on her back, she looked up at the sky, still littered with stars. The sun was still far enough off that they could shine brightly, but she sky behind them was definitely lightening up. "But it sure is pretty." She tried to distract herself a little from the awkwardness of staring at each other while laying down. "Do you always wake up this early, Kamala?"

Watching her, his eyes flicked up towards the sky as she mentioned it. When he was young, that was probably the biggest reason as to why he would wake up; that, and cubs just tended to have odd sleeping schedules in general.

"They are! I just adore the stars. Stars, and flowers." Scooting a little closer to Tuuli, he let his gaze linger on her a little while longer before he rolled onto his back himself.

"You know, at first, it just happened on its own. Like, it was kind of an accident that I woke up so early. But then once I was awake, I had to find something to do, so I ended up just looking at the stars until I fell asleep again." Letting out a little laugh, his eyes got wider as he talked about them, staring up at the sky with intent. "But then, being a curious little cub, I was determined from that point on to see them every night. So I ended up waking up like this all the time."

Rolling his head over to look at her, he realized that it could have definitely been a hassle for her to be awake this early. "Oh, but....sorry if I woke you up. You don't have to stay awake if you don't want to."

Tuuli could feel Kamala's gaze, and it made her feel pretty special, like a young cub who had attracted everyone's attention. Because, right now, he was everyone. Everyone that mattered, at least.

"You know, I've never really stopped and just looked at them." Her eyes slowly widened as she looked at them, trying to take them all in before the sun came and hid them away. "Usually, when I'm awake at night, it's because I'm traveling still." Well, she was always up at night travelling. This past night had been the first exception in a very long time, but it was kind of relaxing being able to just stop and sleep.

"But you like flowers too? That's adorable!" Glancing over at him, she couldn't help but smile. She hoped he didn't take it badly; some males would hate being called adorable for liking flowers. But she felt that he would be alright, since he brought it up in the first place. It was more of a sign of self-confidence to her, and she really liked that about him.

"Oh, don't worry about me. I'm actually pretty glad I woke up, so I could look at the stars with you."

Being like this with Tuuli made Kamala really happy. It felt so nice, being able to show someone else something that you're passionate about, that you absolutely adore. If nothing else, it brought the two of them just a bit closer, and that's what Kamala really wanted.

"Oh, yeah." Flicking his eyes off to the side, Kamala wasn't sure whether he regretted saying that or not. He wasn't sure how others would respond to that; usually, wasn't it the girls that liked flowers? If he had been within his own pride, and she a member, it wouldn't have mattered in the least, and he wouldn't have wasted a thought on it at all, but since he really cared about what she thought of him, he lingered on it a bit more. "It's just...you know, I really love the flowers by the water." It was partially the truth; when he had first 'discovered' what it was that his muse was, he had been drawn to the flowers from that day forth. But the times had changed, and the pride no longer accepted muses, did they? Even though the Goddess was gone, though, he knew that he'd probably die a relic in the pride, one of the few remaining with the 'curse,' and fond memories of his muse.

"But, I guess....since we don't really have a plan for where we're headed today, it would be alright if you wanted to sleep some more. In fact, I might just do that." He wasn't really sure if he would actually sleep, but Kamala could tell that Tuuli was still very tired.

"I don't think I've ever seen a flower by water." Thinking about it, the pride where she was from, though it was by the water, she hadn't ever paid that much attention to the vegetation there. Now that it was gone, she kind of regretted not doing so at the time.

"But, if you like them so much, then they must be something special." Tuuli tried to think of what kind of flower it could be, but since there were so many flowers in the world, she realized that it was probably a futile effort.

"Um. Well. I mean, I wouldn't mind, but I don't need to." She was partially lying through her teeth; as much as she would love to take him up on his offer, she knew that it would be rude to make someone else go back to sleep after they've already woken up.

"It's really wonderful; maybe someday I'll bring you one." Kamala smiled, but thinking about it, it seemed a little sad. 'Someday.' He didn't really know when 'someday' would be, but it made him sad thinking about it.

"They really are, though. How about, for now, you dream of flowers? I imagine that'd be a nice thing to do." Grinning at her, he hoped that he could get her to go back to sleep, since she really did look tired still. He could see it in her eyes; they weren't quite as bright as they were yesterday, and although they'd be talking for awhile, they were still partly squinted. If she wasn't used to this, then he wanted to make her as comfortable as he could.

"Go on, go on. I'll still be right here, don't worry."

Staring at him rather blankly for a moment, Tuuli could see that he was just being kind. She knew very well how tired she was, and, looking at him, he looked just the opposite. Though, maybe he'd keep to his word and rest as well, rather than just humoring her like she thought he was doing. He was so sweet.

"I guess that does sound nice." Rolling onto her side, she scooted closer to him, burying her face into his red fur. Now this, this was comfortable. Sure, she was being a little forward, but what other option was there at this point? Just dance around what she actually wanted, and just waste time? That didn't sound like her at all.

For now, at least, she'd enjoy her rest, dreaming of flowers and surrounded by the warm body of another.

Kamala was glad that she finally conceded, though he was caught completely off-guard by her next move. Man, and he thought he was being forward. This must have been his inexperience in such situations showing through.

Moving slowly and carefully, he rolled slightly, so that he was more on his side now. Her head could rest more comfortably and stably, so he wouldn't have to worry about her waking up again. He took in a deep breath slowly, his heart beating rapidly and his mind racing. He was so nervous, he didn't really know what to do, though staying completely still seemed like an okay route.

Yeah, this was definitely a great way to greet another day.
