Every few steps, Tuuli would find herself subtly glancing over at Kamala, almost reassuring herself that he was, in fact, still there. She noticed several times that he would be looking around, with eyes that looked young and inexperienced. They were so big, though that was probably just because he himself was on the large side, even for a male lion.

Next to hers, his paw prints looked so large. They weren't freakishly massive, but Tuuli had never been more aware of the difference between a male and a female than she was now. Looking back out in front of them, she realized now that she didn't have much of a plan. He just wanted her to accompany him? It didn't really seem like he was doing any leading at all, but that was normal for someone who wasn't used to an area, right?

"So, Kamala. If you're not from these lands, then what are you doing out here all by yourself?" Smiling over at him, she felt like the silence was pretty unbearable. It was almost to the point where she yearned to hear his low, rough voice.

By this point, Kamala was able to calm his nerves enough so his flowers weren't being completely intrusive. He didn't normally mind them; in fact, he really liked them being there, as a form of security. But now, when he needed his focus the most to not look like a complete idiot, they were really getting in the way. The last thing he wanted right now was to slip up and do or say something completely stupid or awful and make Tuuli leave.

Looking over at Tuuli for a moment, he was mesmerized by her spotted pattern; his eyes followed the shifting colors, and how they seemed to end perfectly in certain areas.

Flicking his ears up, he was glad that she started talking first. After his little show, he was all out of confidence and ideas to start something himself. "I just...wanted to have a look-see for myself, I guess." Looking out in front of them, his eyes scanned the horizon, taking in the unfamiliar territory. "It's a good thing I did, too, or I wouldn't have been able to meet you."

His voice had a really nice tone to it. It was soothing, but alluring all at once. She hadn't met another male with a voice quite like this before, so it was definitely going into her records.

"I guess it does have some sort of draw to it. I mean, I still really enjoy it, even though I was in a pride before." It almost seemed like a lifetime ago, thinking about when she lived in a pride. She had come to it so suddenly, but it seemed to epitomize most her ideals in life, so it was an easy decision to become a part of it. But that was then, and this is now.

"Yeah, I'd have to say you've definitely been the highlight of my life so far." Smirking a little at him, it wasn't really a lie. Most of the time, she'd just stop by, have a conversation, see what the other creature was like, and then be on her merry way. "No one's ever asked me to accompany them before."

Slowing his pace, Kamala stared at her almost in bewilderment. "You were in a pride before?" It was...surprising to him, for some reason. She seemed like too much of an individual, a free-spirit to ever be apart of any pride he'd heard of. Although, there could have always been a different kind of pride out there, one that would appeal to her.

"You hardly seem the type. Why did you leave?" He had heard of lions leaving prides before, but he had never heard their reasons for leaving, so it was an interesting concept to the male.

"Of your life?" Laughing airily, he felt....well, multiple things. "I think that's a bit of an over-statement, Tuuli." He wished he was the highlight of her life. But that'd be saying too much on her part, wouldn't it? There was nothing all-that special about him, so it was probably her just being kind. But still, it left his heart fluttering a little.

Keeping her pace, Tuuli smiled a little, thinking about it. "It was...a wonderful place, really. It stood for everything that I am. It was a pride for free-spirits, for wanderers who wanted to have a home to return to. It's what I need at the time, and I was sad when we decided to disband." Dipping her head a little, she stared at her paws while she walked. "I mean, it's not like anyone from there would crash and burn because they were suddenly without it; but it was nice when it was there." Looking at Kamala, she wondered what kind of place he was from. So far, he didn't really show any pridal attributes, no kind of regional thing either.

"What....kind of place are you from, Kamala?" She spoke a little quietly, almost wondering whether it was okay or not to ask him about it if he had left that place. But he said he was going back, right?

"And, you know, it's not that much of an over-statement. You've been the best thing to pop up for a long while." Smiling, she tried to get across some sort of point, though she wasn't quite sure what that point was herself.

Listening to her describe her old pride, it actually seemed to fit her pretty well. What was he saying, 'fit her pretty well?' He had only known her for a few hours, and he was already making all of these assumptions about her. But, it just seemed....right.

"I can imagine it'd be sad seeing a home that you've come to love and expect suddenly be gone." He didn't even want to think about what it'd be like if his own pride was gone when he returned. It'd be so sad, since he'd known it all his life, and that's where all of his family was.

Pausing for a moment, he debated whether he should just go on and pretend he didn't actually hear her say anything or make an effort to respond. He wasn't supposed to talk much about his pride, but it would have been incredibly rude to not say anything at all and flat-out ignore her, especially after she had gone and told him about her old home.

"I live...by the water, I guess. It's a pretty laid-back place, but I spend most of my time off by myself. Not that I don't like it, it's just that crowds are hard for me sometimes." Laughing nervously, he was kind of hoping that she wouldn't press him too much further on it and just ask general questions if she was going to keep asking.

"Yeah, I wouldn't wish it on anyone." Taking in a breath, Tuuli could sense that the conversation had shifted slightly. Largely because she was letting on pretty heavily that she no longer wished to talk about the past, especially her own. Now, she was much more interested in hearing a bit about Kamala's life up until this point.

"By the water? That's it?" Letting out a laugh, she could tell that he probably wasn't able to say much else about it, at least with location or names. "Laid-back? That sounds alright." Tuuli had never been too big on prides, mostly because of her ideals, and it had been a surprise when she came across the Simba'futaji. But his pride must've been okay, if they were at least letting him leave the lands freely.

"You know, I can definitely imagine you not liking crowds." Grinning at the thought, she was a bit surprised that he was open about it. So he was just shy by nature, huh? That was a nice little quirk, something that she rarely came across when going around the rogue lands. Usually, others were confident in themselves, or more outgoing or just plain arrogant.

"So then, why exactly did you leave? It can't just be to get a 'look-see'. You could get that much from stories."

Good, she wasn't trying to delve too deep. Kamala kind of liked the fact that she could tell when it was too much. "If my pride wasn't laid-back, I don't know what I'd do. I'm not all-that fantastic with structure." Looking a little sheepish, he really would fail out-right in any pride that required its members to pertain to some sort of ritual or strict rules.

"Ever since I was young, I would always just slink away to be by myself, trying to figure things out." He picked his words carefully, not really sure just how much he should say. He also knew that if he mentioned his 'flowers' at all, she'd probably get weirded out and not want to hang around him. Or think that he was some crazy creep and definitely not want to hang around him. Nope, he didn't like either of those options, thank you very much. Besides, he had kept it to himself for such a long time, it would've been weird for him to talk about it regardless.

"I think it was mainly to just...gather my thoughts? There have been a lot of changes in my pride lately, so I just wanted to take a slight absence and then re-approach it." When he had decided to leave, he thought it was actually a pretty decent idea.

This was what Tuuli had been waiting for. Other than her apparently love-struck heart, her mind had been yearning to hear more about Kamala and his life.

"You know, I think it's good to have a method of getting one's thoughts together, even if it means you're often by yourself. I think I'd prefer that to constantly being surrounded by others but being utterly scatter-brained." Looking up towards the sky, she had much of a problem with big groups, but Tuuli didn't know what kind of life he had had, or what hard times he could have been through. Those were questions that she was just dying to ask, but decided it be for the best if she didn't right then. They'd be together for a little while, wouldn't they? She'd have plenty of time later if the moment presented itself.

"Though I've never heard of a pride that takes on too many changes. But, it's obviously not un-heard of." Giving a little laugh, she tried to think of something else the two could shift the conversation to. "I guess...well, how about we just enjoy each other's company for a little while, hm? Since I think neither of us are going to be overly revealing about our pasts." Grinning, she moved closer to him, nudging his shoulder with her own. For now, she was content with just walking side-by-side with her new companion.

Wow, Tuuli really seemed to know a lot. Probably because she was used to going around and talking to others, so her experience level was probably at least twice the size of his. It made him feel so young and inexperienced; the thought made his heart sink. Why would she be interested in someone who seemed like such a cub still?

Letting out a sigh, he really hoped that wasn't the case. Luckily, his thoughts were pushed away with her light shove. It was an adorable gesture - at least, he thought it was. Her body was so light, and he could feel the bones in her shoulder. And her fur was so soft. Kamala felt like a bit of a creep thinking about this the way he did, but he really liked her. It was odd, since most of his life he had thought you had to know someone forever for them to feel this way about another; then again, his own mother probably felt something similar to this for his father, a male that Kamala had never known. As hard as the thought of separating from Tuuli eventually seemed, he just wanted to enjoy the time he had with her, and thank the Gods that he had come across her in the first place.
