User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Oh, Fathermother, it's so boring here when they leave me home alone..." a soft, almost childish voice sounded in the swamplands, from within an otherwise silent clearing, and then the sound of a light body being flopped onto a soft bed of mosses, hooves folding in front of a small doe, with oddly intricate green-and-red markings on her body. She peered about the glade with her red-on-black eyes, blinking slowly, tail twitching slightly, before rising, and moving to a small pool where her adopted 'sister', Free, kept live fish to feed guests, and started teasing it with her left forehoof, watching as the fish swam to the surface, and the ripples expanded. Then, sighing again, the young doe turned, and stretched. Perhaps she could find some foxbuns or something to chase and play with. Unlikely, since they were so elusive, but, nonetheless, a gal could hope for some form of entertainment.

User ImageStanding silently, Arctic Waste watched the young doe from the shadows of a nearby tree. Her words had caught his attention, and ever the opportunist, he decided to see what... might be of interest to him. He smirked, amused at her attempts to amuse herself seemed to fail. Excellent, she was bored and not succeeding at entertaining herself. Lots of room for him to move in and see what games he could get up to, what he could get out of her. He let his eyes travel her body for a moment, and grinned more. Yes, he most definitely wanted to get whatever he could from her. He waited, just a moment, then stepped out of the shadows, clearing his throat. "Did I hear a complaint of boredom from this direction? Surely no one would leave such a lovely young doe as yourself alone to be bored..."

Startled by the abrupt clearing of a throat, Snap's ears flicked up, and the beautiful green doe turned towards the noise... and watched a very darkly colored, slightly glowing buck with odd horns step from the shadows, and spoke somewhat softly. She grinned slowly, blinking at him. "Yes, well... my brother and sister do tend to wander off, as do I... but today, I woke up last..." she sighed slightly, and then gave him a lop-sided grin. "I'm Snaptwig... but most just call me Snap... And you are?"
PostPosted: Wed Oct 31, 2012 8:52 pm

Arc grinned slowly at her. "A pleasure to meet you, Snaptwig... I am Arctic Waste. Please, call me Arc." He moved, slowly, closer towards her, at a pace designed to show off his very fine muscles while not LOOKING like he was showing off. His tail flickered side to side, slowly. "Well siblings... I suppose one can't expect siblings to appreciate that such a lovely creature should not be left alone. After all, there are predators in this swamp..." Not that he was mentioning that he knew because he, himself, was one... But his definite knowledge meant he sounded utterly convinced. "And it would be a terrible thing, surely, if such loveliness was scarred by one." And after all he didn't intend to scar her beauty... If she was emotionally scarred, who cared? Certainly not him, so long as he got what he wanted.

Giggling a hint nervously, Snap smiled at him, her eyes never leaving his direction as he moved closer, muscles rolling under his hide in a way that left the hapless doe flustered and befuddled. "This glade is Free's, mine, and Undone's home... It's pretty safe here..." she murmured, although his utter conviction left her somewhat... uncertain. She rose slowly, and then grinned before murmuring, "You... think I'm lovely?"

"It is a lovely glade, and very nice, but... Surely if one such as I can find you... a predator could? After all, predators are on the hunt for prey..." Again, his knowledge of exactly HOW true his words were added strength and conviction. He was, honestly, enjoying this. This doe was providing him a lovely amount of entertainment. She was easy on the eyes, not making his... chase... difficult... God he loved the innocent ones. "It is surely safer when you are all together, because few predators will take on a group at once." And if the others had been there, he'd not even have tried. So much harder to lead on a group then a single individual. Charm did not spread evenly, he'd found, and some one in a group always seemed to be... immune, or at least mostly immune, to it... and saw through it. Annoying as quick sand, that was.

He stopped close to her, but JUST outside of, to his experience, the average edge of a person's 'TOOCLOSE' space, and stood in a spot that had the light hitting his muscles so they gleamed a bit, but his head was in shadow so she'd be able to see and admire his glowing eye, but not fully see his expression. It helped in case of small... slips. At her question, he had to battle the urge to grin, broadly. Oh what a target he'd found! "Pretty Snap, how could any buck not your own relative not consider you lovely? Those green highlights emphasize your eyes... the deep blue you bear is like that of the sky as twilight begins... And the raspberry accents just... You are a beautiful doe, surely you knew?" He looked disbelieving, like the idea that she didn't know was a surprise to him. "Surely you have hoards of suitors who tell you this all the time!" Carefully giving her an opening to tell him the last piece he needed... was he going to be hunted down by another buck who had his eye on this little prize?

Something was odd about the way he'd put that. He had lumped himself in with predators, not something most kin actively did. Maybe he'd done it on accident- Snap didn't know. All she knew was that he had been creeping closer, and the way the light hit his shoulder scales, his flesh, made her shiver slightly, and decidedly not from the cold. She stepped back, a tiny, almost imperceptible movement, and tilted her head down, batting her lovely red eyes at him. "You flatter me overmuch, Arc... I know not many bucks, and none so far have even offered me a second glance. Undone, I think, likes to chase them off before they look too close... But I know he means well..." she murmured, licking her lips slightly, tail twitching in her happiness just so.

Something about the way she shifted at his approach made him pause, for just a moment, to review what he'd said. Blast, he hadn't phrased that bit about predators badly. Well perhaps he could put a spin on it. After all, he was no fan of the vegetation diet... He ate some vegetables and fruits, enough to be healthy, but he prefered meat any day. Fish, rodents, the occasional bird... that was his preferred diet. He made a mental note that if it came up as appropriate, to emphasize his 'Hunts meat to eat' spin he'd just decided on. He refocused on her, noticing the slight shivering, the batting eyes... Had she moved back? He wasn't 100% sure, but it didn't matter much. It was just a tiny bit, so he wasn't worried, as yet.

Her words made him pause again, but this time he made sure to look thoughtful and contemplative, as if her words had great import. Honestly, only one thing she said mattered to him, but it WAS important. "A brother might well explain it. After all, what good brother wouldn't want to be sure his dear sister wasn't being courted by any but the best bucks?" Unspoken in that phrase, but present in implication (In his mind, at least), was the suggestion that if HE made it this far, he must be worthy. He hoped she'd hear that instead of the other possibility of 'I snuck past him!' Honestly, he hadn't seen hide nor hair of any other kimeti then themselves, so it was neither, but he could try to use it. "You will, surely, find a buck who is worthy of your attentions, even to the mind of your brother."

"He would... He's a hypocrite, though... chases all the kimeti does... he came from the desert, you know?" Snap murmured, an affectionate smile crossing her lips as she thought of the pink Acha buck, that whimsical brute who loved to protect his 'baby' sister. She shook herself slightly, and then refocused on him. "I suppose you may be hungry, true?" she smiled gently, and then moved to one side, so he could see the pond full of fish. "Care to join me for a meal?" she murmured softly.

((I... just thought of Dream's Desires meeting Arc, lol.))

"Brothers often are... Their sisters are, to them, precious flowers to be protected... But other does are fair game. After all, they're not HIS sister." The tone was sardonic. He'd seen this enough that he knew exactly what he was talking about, and found it... hilarious. He had a sister, and he could care less. That'd be too much effort for him to care. The Brat could take care of herself.

He blinks as she offers him a meal, and smiles, looking pleased. And fishing from the pond? Indeed, the perfect chance to show her he was THAT sort of predator, that he meant THAT. "Oh yes that would be lovely! Please allow me to thank you for your kindness by catching you your meal...?"

((... oh great. My OC just decided to tell me about his sister. THIS IS YOUR FAULT. -shot so bad- Kidding... you just provided him an opening. Argh new oc trying to move in.

And who is Dream's Desires? -Doesna know that'un.))

Rolling her eyes slightly at his words, Snaptwig nodded, and then followed him to the pond quietly, watching him curiously, wondering if he was any good at catching the slippery little things. She hoped, for the fish's sake, he could kill them quick enough. She lowered herself down the the edge of the pond, and nodded up at him gently when he asked her if he could catch her dinner. "I'd love that..." she smiled lightly.

((LOL. Hm... let's see... shall we make it more fun? If you'd like, roll 1d10- odd, you caught a fish, even you get smacked in the face by one? Dream's Desires is this buck right here.))

Arcturus moves forwards and stares at the water, considering the fish for a long moment. Finally, he selects one he thinks looks good and darts his head down and into the wet, snapping with his teeth. He misses, and a fin slaps his face, causing him to growl. As his face is in the water, what she would hear is burbles at best, and see the bubbles.

(XP I suppose I can do that... -Generally doesn't, specially with Arc- And hmm interesting fellow. Kinna looks like he could be related to Arc. Not sure Arc'd go near him, it'd depend on what's going ON with him. Arc does not, ever, willingly go near some one who doesn't provide him benefit.)

Snap giggled slightly as she watched the little escapades from the safety of the shore, before rising and wading into the water beside him, closer than he'd gotten to her earlier. She took a deep breath, and slowly lowered her own snout into the water, before lowering her front half, so her head was submerged, and then peered about. She snapped at a nearby fish as well...

And caught it handily in her mouth. She rose slowly, proud of her catch. It wasn't all that big, but still, it was a fish. She tossed it ashore, smiling gently.

Hiding his annoyance at the fact that not only had HE failed... she'd succeeded, which in his mind made him look bad, he tried again... And missed. Again. He glared at the fish so hard you'd almost think they would catch fire from the force of his look. "I am not usually such a failure! I eat meat and fish, mostly, to stay strong... So I have to be decent at this, but your pond seems to be... full of clever elusive little fish that are defeating me!"

Snaptwig giggled slightly, and then nodded slightly. "Yes, they are very clever little beasties..." she murmured softly, and then leaned over, to nuzzle his shoulder soothingly, then blushed, drawing back. "S-sorry... I didn't mean to do that..." she murmured, looking away, then up at him to see his reaction. With all the flattery he'd showered upon her, she didn't think he'd be too traumatized... Or get the wrong idea. "I...I don't normally do things like that," she murmured. She didn't wait for much of a response, simply stuck her head back underwater to try to catch him a fish, too...

And came up with another, larger one than before. She offered it to him gently, a small, fishy smile on her face.
