Is anyone else asexual? How do you handle that? Do you still have a boyfriend or girlfriend?

I can't say I am asexual as I don't know what I would do in situation when it comes to physical contact (my attraction for people seem to be based on getting to them first. I might find all sorts of people good looking, but that really doesn't do much for me, so I hadn't really gotten that far yet).
I am sure there are others out there who are. smile As for me, I'm not in a relationship with anyone or ever really been in a serious/exclusive relationship. I heard that a lot of people that are asexual are in relationships, just not sexual.

Thanks hopefully I find some soon but if not I'll stick with my straight and gay friends! I haven't been in many serious relationships but I was in one and my boyfriend wanted to do all these things that supposedly are supposed to get chicks excited or something but it kinda felt like nothing.

Maybe you can do a search online, like a message board to find other people who are asexual and see if they can give advice.
I can't really tell you what would work or not , if anything will work. Can always talk to a specialist though as they might have more advice.
I wish you luck!

Hi! Asexual panromantic here! ^^
Uh, I don't know what you mean by handling it, but I generally sort of coast day through day with it (i'm not the most comfortable with me being asexual, but i know i am- does that make sense?). I'm still not out with a lot of people (including my family, although my dad knows that I was thinking I was asexual), although I have told someone and they just gave me a hug and went on with their life. Didn't speak of it again, just went "okay, I'll give you this hug, and go on with my life!" I imagine they didn't give a crap, but I could be wrong.
And I've never dated anyone (or kissed anyone, for that matter). Well, someone thought I was dating them, but that's a whole other story. I'd imagine that if the relationship got to the whole sexual part, you'd have to compromise and listen to eachother a lot when it got to that point. It depends on whether you have a sex drive or not, really, and what you're comfortable with. If you're in a relationship with someone sexual, maybe talk to eachother about what you want and stuff like that.
If I was in a relationship with someone sexual, I'd probably talk to them about what I want and don't want- i.e. cuddling, kissing, but nothing sexual or something like that. Maybe try to find a compromise that we're both comfortable about.
Okay, so this advice is probably crap, but yeah. Hope this helped at least a little bit!

Always thought I was assexual, but not sure about it, since I'm dating a girl. Pure romantic relationship, though.

There was a brief while where I thought i might have been asexual, but I think I was just going through a rut after a particularly awkward first night with a significant other.
You can find relationships with others, you just need to be sure you're both clear with communication and what you both need from each other. Some asexuals are happy and willing to have a sexual relationship with their partner, even though they themselves don't get much out of it, they're happy to make their partner happy. Others don't even enjoy the idea of it, and can't be that intimate with someone under any circumstances. It's not the same for every person, so you have to decide what you're willing and comfortable with. But no matter what, there's ALWAYS going to be someone out there who's happy to be with you.
A good place to go for talking to other asexuals/gray-aces is to find the AVEN forums.

Sajjue Always thought I was assexual, but not sure about it, since I'm dating a girl. Pure romantic relationship, though. Asexual is not necessarily the same as aromantic. You can love to date and cuddle and romance someone till the cows come home and still be asexual. But an aromantic person doesn't necessarily enjoy that scene.

You could also be demisexual, since you feel you might become attracted to her. emotion_yatta

Hi there! ^^ I definitely think it's possible for me to be in a relationship, and make it work, although it could get a bit awkward once it came to that point. I'm not the most into the idea of romance, but I'm an affectionate person which apparently "balances it out" (according to my sister). I do think that it'd be nice to be in a relationship, though.
