It had been an awful long time since Mac stood outside and enjoyed the weather, and even longer since he took his Whippoorwill out to stretch her wings. Today he felt like doing both those things, and had taken to the school grounds with Whip on his hat, treats in his pockets and a long weighted rope in his hands.
Yes. he went hawking with a whippoorwill.
As he swung the rope around to make Whip chase it for her treats (although he didn't go as fast as he used to, as the bird was getting old and slow), he occasionally looked around to see what else was going on; that was when he spotted someone - another reaper - playing baseball. By himself.
Weirdo.
"HEY!" Mac called out to the other Reaper whom he did not recognize in the slightest. He had to speak loudly; the Reaper was often fairly far away. "IT'S RUDE TO PLAY WITH YOURSELF IN PUBLIC, YANNO" He laughed after, glancing up to see if his precious bird was still following the treat-string.

The reaper in the distance tossed the ball into the air, then whacked it hard with a baseball bat, sending the ball flying straight towards Mac. Before it got to him, though, the reaper had disappeared--and reappeared between Mac and the ball, catching it.
"Don't you mean it's rude to stare at people playin' with themselves in public?" Roch asked as he turned to the other reaper, tossing the ball and catching it easily.

Mac saw the ball coming towards him, but his immediate response was not to duck for his own safety, but to put Whip out of the line of fire, so to speak. The weighted rope he was holding was thrown to the ground well out of the way, knowing that the Whippoorwill would chase it and nibble on it, safe from harm. He was about to raise his arms to protect himself when the Punk was in front of him, the ball in his hand.
"If you do that again, and you hit my bird, I'm going to end you." Mac growled; you could count the things he was protective of on one hand, and Whip was one of them.

Roch glanced at his watch, rather than replying to the threat. "If you wanna try, I'm game," he said, not sounding bothered by the threat at all. "Hell, I've got some time." Then he looked at the other boil. "Waaaiiit... I know you," he said. "You're Mac. Jack, haven't seen you in months." He tossed the ball, catching it again. "You still dating Lizzy?"

He was so going to deck this jackin punk to ----wait, what? All the rage that had built up suddenly deflated as the Punk-Reaper acknowledged knowing him and more; said his name, and mentioned dating Lizzy. Also something about not having seen him for months? So then...he knew this a*****e punk? What was he thinking? Ugh, bad past Mac!
"Err, uh, yeah. I am." The Psychopomp looked confused, but it was being buried under the practice he generally kept of NOT acknowledging he had a terrible time remembering faces and names. Especially faces. "Do I know you?" Normally he'd try to pussyfoot around the subject, but with this idiot? He didn't feel bad asking outright.

Roch looked at him, then sorted, and broke into laughter. "You--you forgot--" Then he shook his head, still grinning. "You've got a jackin' memory like a minipet, or something?" he asked.
"Eh, oh well, we only hung out for a night at the movies. So it's no biggie. Roch," he said. "Roch Scythe. Hob, now. I'm testing out my natural ability--have been for the entire morning. Sorry if it worried you."
