The zombie was a friend of Yin’s and, a good acquaintance of King’s. He had always left a good impression on the white wolfos, and when a flyer for an ‘undead awareness day’ was slipped under his door, the ghost was a bit at a loss. Race wise, he didn’t know much about the undead, aside from the fact that they had… either once been alive or just… came from a race that had once been alive. It was all very complex FEAR, and King wasn’t sure how it worked.

Point was however, that they flyer offered free food, music, games, and fun for ‘everyone’ and that brining or going with an undead friend was highly recommended. So, curious, King had gone to the undead dorms and hunted down the boil Alexander’s room, giving a slight knock.

He needed to get one of those skellyphone things.

King was lucky that Alex was even in his room, considering how much time he spent out of it. Normally he would be at the library, in class, or over at Yin's room for the night. It just so happened that he had gone to his own room today, however, to feed his minipets, and also get some fresh clothes and books to take back over to Yin's with him, whenever he decided to go back there for the evening, at least.

He was moving about his room, pulling things from his closet and shoving them into a backpack when the knock at the door came. His eyebrows lifted in surprise, but without a seconds thought or hesitation he dropped the backpack onto the floor and shuffled towards the door. Who would be coming to his room to visit? He could literally count the visitors he had had to his dorm room on one hand, with fingers to spare. His first thought was that it might be the demon ghoul, Michi, whom he had not seen since the last time she had stopped in for a visit, at least a couple of weeks before.

Turning the handle, he pulled the door open wide, a ready grin already on his face for whoever might be on the other side. The room beyond Alexander was an absolute disaster of dirty clothes and piles of garbage strewn across the floor, and the smell that wafted out was probably quite atrocious, considering his many undead minipets and the rotting sheepish carcass lying in a corner.

The white wolfos, King, was definitely not high on his list of expected visitors, but he was not an unwelcome sight, either. "King! How's it going?" He said, in his usual cheerful tone of voice. He had no idea at all why the boil might be stopping in. Perhaps he needed help with his homework or something.

The mess of the room didn't bother King, nor, did the smell. Rotting animals were not that bad. The other bathroom however? Now THAT was bad, and able to make the wolfos gag with just a wiff. Rotting minipets just registered on the food scale a bit. Not favored but, King wouldn't turn it down. Still, King glanced at the room in question wondering why one would have piles in such a manner. Did Alex like keeping things in piles? Was that how he organized? Maybe, the wolfos thinking the boil needed to get himself some boxes. They might help... or just make new places to form piles.

Flicking his tail and pulling the flyer from his pocket, King held it out to Alex. "I found this slipped under my door and I thought it would be a good learning experience. It says to bring a friend of the undead variety so..." He frowned. "I do not know of many undead. Not well at least. Would you like to join me or-" a claw motioned to the room, "-did you have other plans for the day?"

Alex took the flyer away from King readily enough, holding it up and shaking it a little before he commenced reading. Undead Awareness Day? That...that actually existed?? Apparently growing up in a household full of zombies without ever actually getting out to see the rest of the world meant that Alex was lacking somewhat in the basic knowledge department. Basically, if he hadn't yet read about it in a book, he didn't know it could be real.

King appeared to be extending an invitation towards Alex to join him at the event that was advertised on the poster, and he looked up from the paper in his hands with smile spreading across his face once more. "Hey sure, why not? I hadn't really made any plans. Just enjoying a typical lazy day followed by a lazy afternoon." Alexander's whole existence practically revolved around seeing just how lazy he could possibly be. It seemed today was to be a lost cause on that front as he basically accepted the ghost boils invitation.

Stepping out into the hallway, he left his back pack lying on the floor and his messy room behind him as he shut the door with an audible click. He didn't bother with locking it. Generally nobody came poking around his room, and if anybody did, he had a couple of pets that were on the more vicious side that could probably easily take care of the intruder. He held the flyer back out towards King. "I guess we should get going then! Unless you have anything you need to do, first?"

A tiny tail wag as Alex smiled at him. At least King didn't seem to have intruded on any plans. That was nice. Truthfully, he envied Alex and his lazy plans, the wolfos to much a busy body to allow himself to be lazy.

Unless afternoon naps counted as lazy.

"Well, I had nothing planned nor in need of doing. Its a free day for me, and all my homework is done so..." He shrugged. It was this or work out or go hunting. He'd napped already. "I don't know if there will be expenses, but if so, as I am the one who invited you, I will cover them." Nodding he King led the way, taking the buss into town and- Finding the small 'festival' of sorts already underway. A small stage set up, a few undead pride booths, fresh flesh carts, spare partmart offering a raffle...

"....Have you ever been to such a gathering?"

Alex didn't nap, so to speak, but if he could he would probably find them to be the most ingenius invention in Halloween, and possibly take time to do it several times a day.

It struck Alex once more as King spoke just how much alike the white wolfos and Yin acted and spoke. It was...slightly offputting, but at least the zomboil was more then used to it. If he was being honest with himself, he hadn't even considered that this little adventure might cost them money, and he may have winced inwardly. The zomboil, unfortunatly, was flat broke, and was still searching for a job for the summer, so when King offered to pay, he gave a small nod, though he felt badly about it.

And then they were off. It took some time to get to the bus stop as Alex was just soooo incredibly slow. He hoped King was the patient type as he shuffled along at his usual less then speedy pace. Once on the bus, however, they were well on there way and Alexander found himself feeling quite jovial about the prospect of attending a festival that was directed mainly towards undead. That meant there would be other zombies, possibly even a horde of sorts! He missed his own horde and thought about them almost daily, so being around a group of others of his own kind might be nice.

When they arrived, it was all Alex could do to contain his excitement. His face was indeed split in two by a wide grin as his gaze took in everything there was to see. Oooo, look at all that food! His mouth was suddenly watering at the thought of all that delicious substanance he could be shoveling into his mouth.

"I've never been to a festival aimed towards appreciation of the undead, no." He said, though he wasn't sure if that's what King meant, exactly. "I have been to a lunar new year festival with some of my friends, and back at home the horde often gathers to celebrate birthdays, anniversary's, weddings, new additions to the family, and of course, Halloween." Those gatherings were always fun and full of good times. Ah how he missed them!

This small sized gathering appeared to be underway, and Alex was curious enough to throw himself in it's midst, first and foremost directing himself towards the nearest stall or cart offereing something to eat.

"How about you? Do you ever have anything like this where you come from?" He realized he really didn't know anything about King, other then the little bit mentioned during scarentines day. This could be a learning experience for both of them!

King and Yin were similar, if that they both had no idea about some things in Halloween and were more often than not formal with others. It was probably part of why they got along so well, not to mention when one was confused, it was simply good to not feel alone. Bonding over confusion really wasn't all that bad now was it?

The area was yellow with dried grass and from what King could tell, it was on purpose. He'd have preferred living grass but he'd take what he could get. At the very least the trees still provided shade and the bushes were intact. Undead apparently meant that things had to be dead around them? Seemed a bit silly but there were worse things in the world.

Following Alex to the booth of food he nodded. "I have never been to a ghost festival, nor one for white wolfos. Aside from our tribal celebrations." The scent of meat was welcomed, cooked or raw or even a bit rotten. From the cart they were at, King guessed fresh flesh was what most undead preferred. Good taste in his opinion. "We celebrate the new year, births, deaths, battles won- Nothing like this though. Well no," he huffed, "every few years the tribe meet but it is mostly for business and trade. Merchants from the different tribes set up stalls so... it is a bit like this? But not."

A sniff, and he looked at the rabbit legs. "What will you be getting?"

Alexander had no idea why they would want to give the area a 'dead' look. Probably just for ambiance, though he thought it was a little overkill. So what if they were undead? Didn't mean they wanted to surround themselves with dead things all the time. At least, Alexander didn't want to. He wanted to surround himself with un-dead things, aka other zombies. He tried not to give it too much thought, however. Over thinking things could be dangerous sometimes, as he had come to learn.

As he meandered towards the food stall, he listened to King's reply with rapt attention. He liked learning new things, after all. He nodded at the appropriate times, urging the ghost boil to continue even as he stopped in front of the place where the amazing smells were coming from.

Standing in front of the booth, breathing in all of the delicious scents, it was like some kind of paradise. It was all he could do to contain himself and not reach out to just grab things without asking. So many different and enticing smells, yet one stuck out more then any other. Of course, what would be an undead celebration without a heaping plate full of brains? Alexander pointed out what he wanted to King with a grin. "My favorite." He proclaimed, before asking the stall tender for a plate full of it. As he waited for his food, he turned and nodded towards the stage that was set up.

"Do you think they might have a band playing or something? Ohhhh, or maybe there will be a lecture!" Alexander sounded waaaaaaay to excited about that particular prospect.

Watching as Alex got himself the traditional food of choice for a zombie, King smiled, getting a handful of rabbit legs. He'd pass on the brains, as for him, nothing beat raw rabbit. Silver seeds give to the vendor, he was slightly surprised with how cheap it was. He half expected it to be over the top, like most festivals, but a quick glance towards the sign told him that it was all going to the Undead United fund.

It sounded nice, 'promoting undead awareness and fighting discrimination'. A good cause really. He could get behind that.

Red eyes followed Alex's looking to the stage that was set up. Light and speakers on the wings, and quite a few undead in the audience, sprinkled in were other races, mostly monsters. "Maybe." Walking over, he looked for a sign, and when he found none, paused to ask what looked like a boomer zombie.

A nod, a brochure, and King was back by Alex. "Apparently there is going to be a talk about body care, a speaker from the Halloweentown Hall on undead rights and discrimination, and later a band called the Lawence and the Scream will be playing?" King didn't know bands. "Plus I got a safe pumpkin practice...thing." He held it up with confusion. "Do people really think one so young has any plans for breeding?"

Alex hadn't actually caught sight of the sign until he turned back towards King and looked towards what the other boil was looking, and had to smile. A good cause indeed. The zomboil had sometimes had to deal with being treated less then pleasantly just because of what he was, and it always managed to get him riled up.

Snagging up his plate full of brains and not hesitating for even a moment before greedily shoveling a gooey, gloppy handful into his mouth, Alexander began to follow King towards where the stage was set up. However, he wasn't even half way there before the white wolfos had returned with a brochure. "...Body care?" That was hopefully not a big long spiel about personal hygiene. Alex could really do without that, thank you, considering how much grief he already got about it from his mother, and now (though to a much lesser degree), Yin as well. Hopefully it was just about looking after bodies that were further gone with rot. Alex was actually quite lucky by zombie standards that he was only missing the flesh from his left leg up to the knee, and the rest of his body was only at very early onset stages of decay that his fear seemed to easily keep in check. The guest speaker talk sounded like it might be interesting, and while Alexander also knew very little about popular music, he did enjoy listening to it from time to time.

The safe pumpkin practice..thing..came at a bit of a surprise. "Oh?" He said, somewhat bemused. "I dunno, I guess..sometimes these things might happen? I'm certainly not looking to be..er...'breeding' anytime soon." He couldn't even imagine it. Pumpkins? Scarelings? He could barely look after himself! "It certainly doesn't hurt to be well informed." Unless of course, your name was Yin, then apparently it hurt a very great deal, since apparently he wasn't supposed to know about those types of things until his wings came in.

Oh well, too late now, Alex's mom had made sure of that.

Curious now, however, Alexander decided to ask another question, simply to satisfy his thirst for knowledge, before grabbing up another hand full of brains to shove into his mouth. "At what age would members of your tribe consider appropriate for breeding?"

King was guessing body care was referring to rot. Sometimes, it was good to be a ghost. No true 'fleshy' bits to worry about after all, though one's FEAR might get scarred. Scarring was easier then having parts fall off after all.

Ripping into a rabbit leg, the crunch of bone was satisfying between his teeth. Dustbunnies from the scarfari were only so good after all. "Hrm, I do not think anyone at school is looking for pumpkins. Accidents can happen but... usually you get mold or some such." A small whine came from the back of his throat. He'd like to never get mold. From what he heard, it was terrible and could result in a lost limb.

Ghost or not.

The question made King pausing moving to find a place to sit. "Well... technically I am of breeding age and can look for a mate, though it is not ideal. While it is permitted, we breed for the good of the tribe. There is a mate and then there is a mate. One is love, the other is to produce the strongest offspring for the betterment of our tribe."

He shrugged. "It is a matter of having strong FEAR match FEAR. Of being well enough to raise a pup on your own that makes it a good time to breed for us. What of zombies?"

Ugh, mold! Alex winced away at the word. His mom had instilled a healthy amount of terror into Alex in regards to FEAR infections. Really, she just wanted her first born son to be safe and healthy, and ensure that he used protection charms if things ever got to that point (hahahahaha never going to happen!). The thought of mold was almost enough to spoil his appetite.

Almost. He shoveled another handful into his mouth. Jack damn that was delicious!

He nodded at Kings answer. It certainly made sense, though it was a little sad that one might mate for power rather then for love. Still, understandable.

"I don't know about other zombies, really, but my parents are together because they love each other, as are all of my aunts and uncles. I don't think they care too much about having 'the best zombie' offspring." He grinned. "My mom just loves having kids, I think. I have four siblings, all from pumpkins, and I wouldn't put it past her to decide to have more someday. Some of my cousins are 'adopted', like my family has taken in a few strays that either popped into existence or died as a human only to end up a zombie in Halloween. We have a fairly sizable horde, because of it!" He concluded, obviously quite proud that he came from such a large family, even if they weren't exactly well known.

As he spoke, he moved around, looking for a place for the two of them to sit down. When he was finished he flopped into a chair, scooping up the last few bits of brains to consume. "I don't remember if I ever asked you this. What brought you to Amityville, anyways?"

The wolfos nodded. Here it seemed the more common practice was to breed for love and for mates, but then, culture was not always the same everywhere. Ear flicked as he listened to Alex talk about his family, perking up at the small details that to King, matched up to what he knew. "Yes, taking stay pups and group parenting is a good thing. It keeps the bonds strong and allows new FEAR in without worry that they shall clash heavily. Pups are much easier to teach than rouges."

Sitting beside Alex, King took a second to make sure his tail would not be sat upon. Thank jack for backless chairs. "Hrm, well, I was chosen as the heir to my tribe's alpha, and while I am considered learned for my people and the ways of my tribe, I know very little of the ways here, so far from our people. My uncle knows a bit, but we're rather isolated. So, when I heard of a school so far I thought it would be a good opportunity to learn. I have a few years until I take over the tribe, and whatever I learn I hope to bring back to help us in the future."

Smiling the first speaker was already on stage, going on about how FEAR could be used to mend and keep parts healthy and only looking 'freshly dead'. Mostly, King was interested in his rabbit legs. "...Hrm, do parts fall of for you? Ah, not to be rude." Was asking rude? He didn't know.

Once he was finished with the brains, he bent over forwards to place the plate underneath his chair. He'd try to remember to pick it up and put it in a disposal bin when he got up to leave, but no promises could be made. "Most of the time the strays my family takes in feel lost and confused. They have no memories of their past lives, and it helps them a lot to be taken in by those who can answer any of their questions. I can't imagine what that might be like, to have no memory of where you are from or of the people who raised you..." He didn't really want to think about that, it was far too depressing. Not at all the type of mood he should be in while at a festival!

He listened to Kings explanation for why he had come to Amityville and nodded. It made a lot of sense and was actually something he could relate too. He had come to the school because he felt there was just so much more to be learnt then what he could do at home.

"Ah, no, don't worry, I don't mind you asking. My rot is fairly minimal, and my FEAR seems to keep me in pretty good shape so far. My head is stitched on to my body, and could probably fall off if somebody were to undo them..." He winced at the thought, and moved on to a much easier body part. "And my leg." He leaned forward and rapped against the bone part with his knuckles before continuing. "I can dismantle it, and it sometimes comes apart on it's own if it gets hit hard enough. My skin does seem to tear easily." He held out his arm to show some of the stitches that had been used to hold him together, though these smaller wounds were healed and he could probably remove them now. "But so far? No, besides my head and my leg, I've never just had a body part just...fall off."

And thank Jack for that.

Looking to what Alex pointed to and explained, King couldn't help but sniff. It was rotting but not rotten. Hard to pin down, as the FEAR was stable and keeping it well intact. The neck was given a pause, and the wolfos inspected the threads. "Have you gone to a professional FEAR healer? They might be able to make it intact... or fuse the spine back at least."

The one speaker had ended, and the next had already begun. King guessed that they just didn't have a very interested audience. Looking around, have the crowd was around the food carts, the other half mingling.

"Hrm, do you want to stay for the speaker or, see what other things there are. They might have contests or something. Games." A small tail wag. "Maybe floresce scooping?"
