Tearh moved alongside Murasame and kept leaning on him, almost making him trip. She giggled and he sighed shaking his head. She found amusement in it while he was trying to think of things, trying to put something together she figured. But, she couldn't be sure.

"What bothers you now? Always so anxious? Why, it doesn't seem to make sense. We are meeting others, no longer being so solitary in our own musings. Come on Mura, lighten up a little," she said leaning into him again, and he stumbled, and she kept nudging him.

He was getting annoyed. But he loved her, and he would never raise his voice to her. Ever, he made that promise to himself. He would remain loyal and act well always. Tearh was his mate, his love, and he would treat her with proper respect even if she went at such great lengths to annoy him so. "Can I not think in silence? But I speak aloud from now on, any thought within my head?" he asked leaning back to her. "I don't know if you'd like that, don't know if you'd get sleep," he grinned.

Murasame looked ahead to where they were going, a small bundle of stones. There were some smoother ones he sought to bring back to their current den site with them. They were soothing on his paws. "Just wish I could walk without having someone pushing me always, hmm?" he said hinting, and she seemed to cease, for now.

Kalanu was not exactly happy but she had stopped moping around and being obvious about her sorrow. Since she returned she had not really been alone, when her family was not around Sesere was sure to be there. It had been a while since the avian had stuck so close to her, she'd given the lions so much space when Kalanu kept sneaking off to meet with Poa. It was a comfort.

"No hunt today," she murmured, walking along slowly, trying to find a way to occupy her time, "Anything interesting going on around here?"

She glanced upward to where Sesere flew a short distance above her.

Sesere was getting a lot more exercise in now that she stuck so closely to her lion friend, who seemed to insist on moving at a snail's pace now. She had to circle around every so often to keep herself from getting too far ahead or falling out of the air.. when she wasn't sitting on Kalanu's back.

"No," she replied, flapping her wings and pushing herself upward to get a better view, "There are two lions not far ahead, might cross paths if you keep this way."

Would she? Or would they spot her mind could be made up?

"I only do it to keep the silence from overcoming, I do not like it all the time," Tearh said in ernest. "I like to hear your voice, know you are here, as in here with me in conscious, not only thinking within the depths of your mind and spirit. You must be open, not concealed within it. You've such dark fur above your brow already, I cannot see within it," she said stopping placing a paw to his forehead. "I have no such gift that allows me to see what lurks within these depths, so do not tempt me with wanting to pull out a few furs to see if I might glance a glimmer," she said smirking.

With his comment she gasped, took her paw from his forehead and smacked his shoulder, "keep your thoughts at peace, and in pure light!" she said with ehr tongue sticking out.

"What? Can you blame a dark fellow as I? Perhaps the darkness of my fur has tainted my thoughts to think of such things," he said grinning moving closer to her. "What, have you not thought of things, not once? What a family, here, might be like? You have dreamed of our children back home, I know it. You murmur about them in your sleep, Tearh, do not begin to tell me you've forgotten what it is like with cubs around us. You relished being a mother."

He watched as she made eye contact with him, and she nodded, seemed to smile, almost blush. So she had thought of a family here. Well, that was promising. As they stopped, his ears flicked and in the not so distance he could see an avian up above. "Tearh, Tearh look!"

Tearh looked up to see it, not seeing the lioness right away, and got excited. "Would it carry a message, you think?"

"Come on, we have to try!" Murasame said taking off for the shadow.

Kalanu stopped walking and squinted out into the distance, spotting the two lions headed her way. They obviously didn't notice her yet and she had seen them around before, they were former outsiders like her parents. It showed in the small number of tattoos they wore despite being adults.

"Hm," she murmured, not sure she felt up to a conversation-- until she saw them excitedly heading their way. But they weren't looking at her, they were looking at Sesere. Confused, she stayed still and watched.

Sesere circled around, keeping an eye on Kalanu for her decision. She looked back to Tearh and Murasame at the exact moment they spotted her and nearly fell out of the sky in surprise when she realized they were strangely excited to see her.

With a glance back to a confused Kalanu, she circled around again and slowly descended to where she was within conversational distance but still safely out of reach. She wasn't the most social avian but she wouldn't be rude.

They were getting closer and it seemed to be descending! "This has to be the one it has to it-" and then she saw as it got closer to the ground, there was another lion, lioness, female, she corrected herself, not far off. The excited glimmer in her eyes remained, no longer for the avian, but for meeting another new face. They both came to a halt near the avian, who seemed to hover, and the lioness who seemed...distant? And not just with measurement.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, this must be your avian! Please forgive us, we weren't sure, and have been trying for so long to find one, like you," she said, now turning her head to the flying creature, "that might be of help. But so many have gone away so fast."

Murasame came up beside Tearh, just to make sure she didn't make a move to grab the bird regardless of the owner being present. They were both eager to send messages home, but not that eager. He looked to the lioness who seemed, almost sullen. It confused and also concerned him.

"Yes, forgive us, I'm Murasame, this is Tearh, we traveled far to come here what seems like forever ago, and merely have been trying to send word back home to our parents to let them know we are all right. I hope we've not intruded upon your day by any means, and if so, we apologize for doing so."

It didn't take the stranger long to notice that she was standing a short ways away- they even addressed her first and she made an effort to smile. They were bird-lovers, that was something to smile about. Kalanu liked birds, she almost envied the bird clan in that way.

She nodded, but didn't say anything immediately when Tearh almost explained about their desire to find an avian.

Sesere was glad they noticed that Kalanu was nearby and made the decision to change her path and stick close by her lion friend. She flew over to Kalanu and perched on her shoulder, giving her a little scratch with her claws to urge her forward to talk to them.

Kalanu hesitated long enough for Murasame to finish his introduction and explanation before finally walking closer so they could talk more comfortably. She had never had cause to send messages far with Sesere.. perhaps while she was out wandering with Poa, but not really.

"Oh," she said, "Where are you from?"

Sigh. Couldn't even introduce themselves first.. but they did kind of jump right into a conversation when explaining their strange excitement when they spotted her and Kalanu.

The avian seemed so content with this female, Tearh longed to have a companion the same. One that would also not be afraid to fly the long distance back to the Pridelands. Then, perhaps, she could have more messages back and forth with family, it would be lovely. The lioenss seemed, peculiar, almost, as if she wished to be alone. Tearh wondered if she should have come up so strong, should they have gone slower?

Yes, perhaps. That might have been better. She had to keep that in mind for the future. "We came here from the Pridelands. Very large, very green, but it has been so long since we've seen our parents, specifically, I found out not long ago that my brother is here. Another clan, but still, it is nice to know someone is close by," she said happily.

Murasame looked at the avian as it seemed to..poke at the lioness? Why? The female seemed to be of very few words. Urging, perhaps? Was this the shy one Ahadi had spoken of the other day? She hadn't said her name yet, so he was unsure.

"We've gotten a little far ahead of ourselves, I think," Murasame said motioning to Tearh to take a minute to breath, stop speaking, let the air be still. "We took such great excitement in your avians appearance, we've not had the pleasure of knowing your names, both of them our course," he said looking to the avian, as to not have the creature feel inferior at all.

Kalanu blinked at Tearh explained where she was from, thinking of her own family. Her father had come from the Pridelands and they had several family members around the pride. In fact, an aunt was in their own clan.

Then Murasame pointed out they had failed to introduce themselves and Kalanu started. It wasn't strange for her to get ahead of herself and fail to provide her name but it was normally from enthusiasm, not sullen confusion.

"The bird is Sesere and I'm Kalanu Kalisetsi," she introduced herself, including her name so they might recognize her family if not her specifically, "I have family in the Pridelands, too- and around here."

Sesere had yet to formulate her opinion of these two. She wasn't terribly surprised they'd had trouble convincing a bird to carry messages for them, approaching as they did.. and while she had never been there, she got the impression is was quite far away. It took days to get across the Ela'wadiyi lands and even with wings it was a long way.

Hmmm.

"It's a pleasure to meet both of you," Tearh said in a more calm manner. She did let her emotions get the best of her when excited, she needed to dull it down...seriously. Her ears flicked forward at the mention of family in the Pridelands, and Tearh almost beamed, "seems the few we have run into lately have had some connection to the Pridelands, which is surprising but also wonderful. It's nice to have a piece of hom here when so far away."

"Miss it sometimes though," Murasame added, "lush green, far as you could see. But the culture here, how everything works, family setting, much more...individual, in my eyes. I like the diversity, but also how everything is organized. There were so many members when we parted ways, it was hard to keep track of the new and old faces."

"True, but here, now, it has been wonderful just seeing new faces, meeting others, such as yourself, Kalanu, if I may call you by that simply of course," Tearh said with a genuine smile.

Murasame looked to Sesere who seemed quiet all of a sudden, musing, maybe, or perhaps just a quiet bird. "I'm sorry if we, or I, by any chance frightened you Sesere, not intentional of course. Have any advice for us while searching for a companion? How did you and Kalanu meet?"
PostPosted: Sun Jun 03, 2012 10:16 pm

Momentarily distracted looking over their tattoos and trying to place bits of the stories they told. Suddenly she was surprised she hadn't really noticed them before, she had spent so much time focusing on other cubs and then running off to see Poa, she had missed really socializing properly with grownups in her own clan.

"It's nice to meet you, too," she said, finally smiling and glancing to Sesere when Murasame addressed her apologetically.

Sesere ruffled her feathers and made a motion almost like a shrug, she wasn't really startled by them- more confused. Now she was mostly interested, though she didn't imagine she'd jump up and offer to carry a message for them just like that.

"Kalanu and I met when we were both small," she said thoughtfully, "You just have to be patient. Perhaps a bit less excitable."

Not that Kalanu had been very calm when they met, but there was more to it than that. Maybe if they found a chick, they would have more luck. Imprinting and all.

"We met when we were small too, I actually used to collected feathers, fallen, feathers, of course," Tearh quickly said as to not have Sesere think she was some kind of bird plucker. That would be awful! Patience was the advice, and true, Tearh nodded, that was all good. Less excited, she might have a problem with that and she looked to Kalanu and Murasame, "I'll have to try my best, perhaps you should be the one to approach them, then, Murasame."

"I could do that, to see what happens," though Murasame and Tearh spent most of their day together. Usually always. MIght be strange to separate for a long period of time, and from sun up to sun down was too long in his mind. "Are you within the Mantis clan as well, Kalanu? It has been a while since we've both gone out in search of speaking with those of our clan, Mantis, so we aren't so familiar with faces as you might imagine."

They needed to be better with that, Tearh agreed internally. They had to seek out others with more vigor, but, less likely attitude of being too excited. She could try.

Murasame wondered what Tearh thought of as he watched he ponder silently. It seemed, already, she was getting used to being more patient, perhaps even more quiet. Strange turn of events when compared to earlier.

Very suddenly, Kalanu realized the obvious fact that these two were a couple. They met when they were small, they had come here together.. it had to be easier that way. She felt envy rising up in her but managed to force it down. She had to keep smiling, it wasn't their fault.

"I am," she murmured, "My family makes up a lot of the Mantis clan, actually."

Sesere nodded agreeably when Kalanu described her family's size. The Kalisetsi family made up nearly half of the Mantis clan, it would be impossible not to know at least one of them in a clan as small as this. Not to mention they were all quite bright. Except Rajeev. Perhaps Kalanu and Odakota, too, but their brightly colored tattoos helped them stand out more.

"Maybe Sesere can help," Kalanu said suddenly, changing the subject back around to finding a bird to help them get a message to the pridelands. Immediately she felt the little bird's claws digging through her fur in protest but she ignored it.

"M-maybe she can find a bird willing to go," she clarified.

She didn't appreciate being volunteered but when Kalanu clarified that she was not trying to get Sesere out hunting for a strange pride, she felt a little better. She didn't really have many avian friends but she'd have an easier time searching- she might even find out who knew where the pride was, if they were patient.

So, suppressing a sigh, she nodded her assent.

"That's wonderful then, perhaps we will meet more of your family as time passes on and the days grow a bit longer now," Tearh said with a smile. She noted something about the lionesses behavior, maybe it was something in her voice, but Tearh could not place it. Curious though, Tearh wished to know what, perhaps, bothered the lioness so. "Our families were quite large as well, because of siblings mostly, though, it was, your grandmother, who had a large family too, right Murasame?"

Murasame nodded, "Yes, from what I understand, my father's mother had a few litters, and had siblings that had several litters as well. Most widespread than yours I gather Tearh, but, we are the smaller group here it appears," he said with a chuckle, trying to have Kalanu feel a bit more at ease. With the mention that Sesere might be able to help, Murasame dipped his head a little, "any help would be greatly appreciated, Sesere."

"Yes, we have tried to mention to avians we would grant them protection, a home, food, we only seek companionship, and ability to send messages t the Pridelands now and then." She suspected the avian could not be too young, and could not necessarily be a small species. The trek might be too much.

"But anything, anything at all we would be grateful," Murasame said again. He looked to them, Kalanu and Sesere and smiled. "Not only have we seen a new face and made a new acquaintances," Tearh nudged him, "friend, yes, but you've also granted us some hope for our endeavors. We thank you for that."

Kalanu looked back and forth between the pair of lions as they talked more about their families. She didn't put nearly enough thought into just how large her family was and how strange it felt that they weren't all here. At least her parents and all of her siblings were.. even if Nova was hard to keep track of sometimes. Most times.

"We'll see if we can find any birds who know their way to the Pridelands and might be willing to help," she said, smiling.

Sesere nodded, finally realizing this would give Kalanu something to focus on other than Poa and the fact he wasn't there. She could support that more than her own socialization. She didn't have a particular reason but she preferred the lions to hanging around with birds around here.

"No problem," she chirped.

"You've truly been so kind," Tearh said, looking to Kalanu, "you and Sesere have such a loving bond, I envy it, I hope to find that someday with an avian. But until then, I've Murasame," she said giggling.

"Hey!" Murasame said with a frown, he huffed, and shook his head, mane falling into view. But he soon chuckled afterwards. "If only you could turn into a bird, Tearh." She stuck her tongue out at his comment.

"We should head back to the den, tend to the site and find something for dinner. But I do hope we find one another again soon, Kalanu, its been such a pleasure finding another female in the midst of the lands, Murasame can become quite a bore sometimes," she said with a laugh.

Murasame again, mock pouted and turned to Sesere and Kalanu, dipped his head in respect. "Thank you for your kindness, it truly is wonderful finding new friends when you least expect it," he said in all honesty. "It makes the days fuller, and full of smiles and laughter."
