Big, wet tears rolled down Natalia's checks. She wiped them away with her arms, but they continued to pour from her amber eyes. Stupid boys. She shouldn't have ever shown them her discovery. Maybe things would have turned out differently.
She ran, determined. Her sister would know what to do! She always did. Pana would show them. Her stubbornness blinded her; a tree root raised out of the grown to trip her. The park's grass came up suddenly.
BAM.
Natalia rolled over and sat up. Her elbows were spotted with tiny scrapes. She wanted to cry harder her energy was spent.
What a good for nothing, terrible, horrible day.

Kalos had kicked her sandals off a short ways away from her mom. She never liked wearing the things, preferring to feel the ground beneath her bare feet. Her mom, however, insisted she wear them when they went out. Kalos looked back over her shoulder, at where her sandals lay and stuck her tongue out. She left them behind whenever she could. Her eyes wondered to the sky above and she stopped, gazing at the clouds and the various shapes they seemed to form. Just as she was seeing a dragon in the clouds she heard a horrible sound.
Looking down and around she couldn't see where the sound was coming for. As it grew nearer she realized that it was someone crying. In the next instant, a girl came running into view. Kalos could see that was where the crying was coming from. Before she could do anything but take a step the girl seemed to trip and fall on her face. "Oh!" Kalos let out a small cry as the girl sat up on the ground and stayed in the spot she had fallen. Kalos quickly ran over to her, wanting to make sure the girl was alright. "A-are you alright?" She asked worriedly.
