Crossing her paws gently, Avani was relaxing a bit while Pumilio was off on a hunt. All this time, he never let her accompany him on a hunt; if he thought that that kept her from hunting all-together, he was dead wrong. As docile as she had become in this relationship, Avani wasn't really the type to just sit by and let someone else do everything for her. Not willingly, anyway.

Unfortunately, that's what life with Pumilio had come to. He was a very stubborn and controlling male, and at times she wondered just how obsessed with her he had become. It was sweet, at times, to think about it, but then there were times where he let it completely blind him, and she'd have to pay for it.

But, for now, at least, she'd go along with it. She wanted to at least give the whole 'family' idea a bit of a chance, to see if that would finally change a few things. Besides, she really cared about him, the stubborn bull.

With a little bounce in her step, Tuuli bobbed her head contently as she walked, a smile riding on her face. She was in rather good spirits today - though, when was she not? Sure, she was a little disappointed that the wonderful pride she had come to ended up disbanding, but that was just how the fates wanted it. Maybe there was someone in the pride that was meant to go on to do bigger and better things in the world.

And she didn't mind being out on her own again. After all, she was born out by herself, and she had lived most of her life this way. She was glad she got to experience pride-llife, though, even if it was only for a little while.

Coming upon a small hill, Tuuli stopped, feeling the wind brush against her face. It was nice, just being like this. Looking out ahead of her, though, she definitely saw another, enjoying the day just as much as she was. Or, at least, she hoped they were, as she began to approach them.

Still lounging, Avani tried to let her thoughts slip away. This was a great chance for her to relax, and not worry about the future, or even tomorrow. Because honestly, that only suffocated her.

Swishing her tail in the grass behind her, Avani could tell that she was no longer alone. She wasn't worried, though, as the last time she was by herself a kind stranger had come and given her good advice. So this time, she was actually rather looking forward to seeing who it was that was approaching her.

Perking up her ears, she quickly spotted the dark pelt against the grass. Uncrossing her paws, she fidgeted slightly, not sure whether she should call out to the other or if Avani herself should make the first move.

Coming up on the other dark figure, Tuuli could now make out that it looked like a leopard. She hadn't really met too many leopards in her travels; generally, they were never in areas that she frequented, and she found that they were far less social creatures than most lions were. But that was just a generalization, and it certainly didn't stop Tuuli from going up to it. In fact, it probably made her want to meet them more, to try and see a new point of view that she didn't really know all that well.

Putting on a smile, she padded closer to the other, noticing that they looked rather relaxed; a good sign, most likely.

"Hello there!" So far, it seemed to be going well; there were no noticeable hostilities or agitation towards Tuuli. In fact, the leopard seemed quite welcoming.

Giving a grin to the approaching lioness, Avani was glad that she made the first move. It always seemed a bit harder - awkward, even - to give that initial push to start a conversation.

"Why hello there." Still smiling, Avani looked over the lioness. She had never really been around lions before, but she tried to give every new creature she met the benefit of the doubt, regardless of what harsh things Pumilio might have said about them in the past.

"My name is Avani." Dipping her head a little, she looked back to the lioness. "What brings you to this area, miss?" That was a good thing to ask, right? Even though today had initially been a day for relaxing, this was something that Avani wanted, too; anything was a good break from the cage she had been placed in.

So far, it seemed like a success. "I'm a wanderer by nature, so I guess I just...happened upon this area." Letting out a small laugh, Tuuli came to a sitting position just a few feet in front of Avani. "And I'm Tuuli. So I take it that you're from this area, yeah?" It seemed rather obvious that she was at this point, but there was no harm in asking, making sure of the fact rather than just assuming.

"Do you stay here for a specific reason?" Tuuli was rather curious, being a wanderer at heart herself. It's not that she looked down on the life-choice at all; rather, she was kind of gathering up all the reasons why someone would choose to stay in one place and see if it would ever be a good decision for her.

"I used to wander a bit. Well, I would be with my mate, Pumilio, but we used to travel around a lot more." Hearing her own words, she sounded older than she was. Avani had known Pumilio since she was a cub, so her time references were all true, but sounded like they were from an aged female.

"I kind of miss those days; just a bit." Laughing a little, she probably missed them much more than she let on. It was hard for her, still being rather young and forced to stay put. For most outsiders, it probably seemed pretty odd; a young female already resigning her life to another, but it was something she was okay with.

Nodding her head as she listened, Tuuli almost had to question the age and experience of the leopardess that lay before her. Tuuli thought that she mustn't be any older than she, but it seemed that she had already lived such a long life; though, if could just be that she chose a vastly different track in life.

"So you stay in one place because of your family?" Perking her ears up a bit, Tuuli was a little excited; she thought there must be some cubs involved, whether current or future. Tuuli herself had been debating whether she wanted to start a family - the thought sounded nice, but she wasn't quite sure what she would do with them at this age. She didn't want them to come up in a life of constant wandering with just her, but that seemed like the only available option for the time being.

"Oh - oh no no." Waving her paw in front of her, Avani could feel her face get hot. She felt so awkward about the whole thing, but it was actually fairly close to the truth of the matter. "But I guess....well...." Taking in a breath, she didn't really know if she should try and phrase it. "I guess we're planning, and hoping." Letting a small smile rise on her face, it was a thought that really did bring her joy. It was just all very sudden to her, though. "I mean, since it'd be our first time, it's kind of nerve-wracking, I suppose. So many questions, like whether we'll make good parents and things like that." Fidgeting a bit on her haunches, she didn't really want to focus on her worries; it seemed better to think about the good points of making a family rather than the bad.

"What about you, though? Although you're a wanderer, haven't you ever thought about making a family?" Grinning at Tuuli, she was rather curious, as she seemed to be about the same age as her.

Trying her hardest not to laugh, Tuuli could tell that she had hit the mark spot-on. It was no wonder, really, that she would be a little awkward and fidgety about such a subject; if you cared so much about another creature, thinking of doing something like making a family would pretty much epitomize their love and relationship. It was cute, really, and Tuuli was almost a little jealous that she didn't have that kind of relationship in her life right now. But, maybe the timing just wasn't yet right.

"Oh, no, I don't yet have that kind of relationship with anyone." Smiling kindly, Tuuli wasn't off-put in the least by the question. "No, I've pretty much lived my life like the wind, twisting and turning around the plains, seeing others' lives as they see them. But hopefully, one day, it'll happen for me." Looking down at her toes for a moment, she couldn't even really visualize it at all yet. At this point, it would probably have to be something pretty spontaneous if it was going to happen to her.

"I see." Eyes widened, it was interesting to hear about someone else's life, and how it had built up to this point. "Well, I think it'll happen if it's meant to happen when it's going to happen. If that makes sense." Laughing a little, she knew that one day, the lioness sitting before her would have someone special to her and a family to accompany it. But timing in everyone's lives was different, and maybe this wasn't her time.

"But it doesn't sound like a waste at all, you know? Sometimes people are so upset if they reach a certain age and they don't have a family, or something like that. Your life seems like it's been pretty fulfilling." Grinning, Avani wondered what it'd be like if the roles had been reversed - Tuuli sitting here, anxiously waiting for the day she'd start a family, and Avani standing confidently as a wanderer.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 08, 2012 10:15 pm

"Yeah, I understand what you mean." Smiling shyly, she wasn't sure how she felt about it. "But I think, right now in my life, I need the wandering lifestyle. I don't think my life is ready to have a family brought into it." Giggling a little, she rose up on to her paws, shaking the dust off gently. "And I guess...I should get back to it, huh? Before I get too convinced that I need to run off and start a family straight-away." Letting out a laugh, her words were mostly true; if she were to linger too long on the thought, she'd start to convince herself that it was the best idea right now, and it wasn't.

"Avani, it's been a pleasure talking to you. I'm glad I could hear about a bit of your life. I know things will go well for you and your future family." Smiling genuinely, she meant every word she said. If she could read others at all, the vibes she was getting off Avani told her that she would make a wonderful and caring mother. Giving a small nod, Tuuli turned slightly, heading off in a direction behind Avani on her continuous journey.

"Haha, I suppose." Flexing her paws out in front of her, it had been nice talking to Tuuli. They seemed so different, but it had really reassured her. At least by now, she really felt like she could relax a bit.

"The same to you, Tuuli. And I know that, when the day finally comes, you'll know what's right for any family you make." Dipping her head a little, her eyes were half-squinted in a smile. She wouldn't move from her spot for the rest of the day, but she let her eyes linger on Tuuli's form as it slipped away.
