The Stranger stalked the hallways like a caged beast.
"Why, why, WHY!? Am I stuck in this worthless body! No If I was better it wouldn't matter... so then it's my fault... ******** HELL!!"

He needed something to clear his head, but nothing he could think of would sate his rage for long. It was like trying to extinguish fire with magma, nothing helped. He was fervent, vehement and all around working himself into tirade. One of which would most likely be meaningless.

That thought in itself pissed him off more... because of the truth in it. Finally something caught his eye. In one of the openings in the hallway into another darkened room stood an armed sentry. If that wasn't curious enough for the death of the feline, he saw lights.

"Neon lights, here?" He walked over slowly towards the guard, there was a sign posted at the door in bold script. "No Sharingan allowed beyond THIS point."

"Pfft... use it too much anyway..."

The sentry handed him five playing chips. To which he looked at this curiously then eyed the room, as a grin spread across his features. It was a gambling den, of whom he did not know. Drug lords ruling the country side between the cracks of territories, another Uchiha, he did not truly care.

He walked over to the games and watched as they played for a little while. Of the tables there seemed to be three games reoccurring; a game called "BlackJack" of which five four-sided dice were rolled for a possible count of, four low to twenty high. It seemed that the dealer took tie's no halvesies or tie breakers on this playground.

The second was Roulette, a game he was more familiar with and lastly the game that was most dangerous of all... Clan Eye's as they called it. It seemed to be high risks and an even higher payout... if you got that payout that is.

What piqued his curiosity to a new level was what the chips or tokens were used for. There was an exchanging kiosk where one was able to trade chips for prizes. The manner of the prizes in store only got more appealing as their price increased exponentially.

He took a few more minutes to observe in silence, calculate the movements, the odds and the variables. He wasn't a genius but he wasn't an idiot, academically he could keep up, and even he could tell the odds were stacked favorably against the player.

How could he get around that?
"I could create a small myriad of clones, transforming them into the object I so desire... No that would be too loud and cause to much of a ruckus. And if they reverted in the middle of a toss that could be terrible..."

Seeking a plan to do it surreptitiously, to ensure that no one present would catch him and throw him out for more trouble and rule breaking. At this point, he was not in the mood to continue fighting and getting his a** kicked. He needed a '+1 up', and he seemed to be running short on those of late.

That's when the thought occurred to him, why not use chakra strings. After all if he was bad enough at it he could fall back on his genjutsus or goddess forbid, blind luck. A normal string wouldn't work the shape would be all wrong and could very well cause it to incorrectly, or worse yet topple on to the incorrect face of the given die.

He took of his mask hanging it on his belt and a friendly casual smile, oozed on to his features, like someone poured a syrupy paste in the guise of merriment. He looked around and said with a voice not his own,
"Ahem**, Well hello there, how are you fine gentlemen doing today. I do believe I would like to wager two chips on that BlackJack table of yours."

He seemed like that nice guy from the bar you always wanted to hang out with. He was given the five dice, and asked to roll. He grinned and thought of his task. He began to roll the dice in a a prayer like gesture, sliding his hands back and forth. In reality he was meticulously weaving his chakra from his finger tips, into the selected sides of the die. He knew he had correctly place at least three of them, two on the three faces, and one on the one face. The other two remained a mystery. "Mistress Lady Luck, mayhaps you shall smile abundantly on me today."

He threw the dice onto the table with a excited sigh and a flourish of his fingers. As if rippling them in the air would add to the "Mistress of Luck" to see him. He act was one without flaw, and nearly impossible to detect unless you knew what to look for. Now, he hopefully was doing something worth while and not simply wasting more time.

The Dealer looked at the genin with an amused smile. Listened to him with a smile on his face much the way a bartender listens to the drunk, knowing that is truly all it took for him to empty his pockets.

"Welcome young sir try your hand at a game?"

He eyed the boy with amusement in his eyes, as he chose the BlackJack table. When he watched the boy practice his "superstitious" ritual he nearly laughed, that would do little to help his odds here. As the boy rolled his five dice, they came out; 4, 1, 2, 2, and 3.

"Well now, twelve is not a bad number, middle of the pack. Let's see how I stack up?"

Picking up his dice he tossed the with a practiced flick of his wrist. There numbers coming out as; 3, 4, 3, 2 and 1.

"Ah! Thirteen, shame that. Care to try again?"
With a second deft flick of his wrists, the boy's chips were gone.

The Stranger's first instinct was to get angry. Instead he let the cool grace flow over his form, un-ruffling any hackles that may have risen from his growing annoyance.

"Hmm a change of strategy is needed or at least I need to make my chakra strings more effective.... what if I applied a small layer onto the underside, and make it sticking... like tree walking."

A smile of genuine delight split his face in twain as he said calmly, "Indeed, again." He took the dice in his hand but he rolled them around differently. In one hand then the other, like he was gauging what side he would throw better with. The whole time he was actually stalling to get extra time, to lace delicate layers of chakra connected to a string on his finger tips.

He rolled the dice out onto the table. This time he was sure to place three of them on the lowest number, ensuring the higher numbers on the table first while leaving two to chance placing their layers randomly. After all, the Stranger simply was not himself if he did not gamble.

As the dice began to slow, they tumbled to a stop. It worked much better than his last roll; 3, 1, 2, 3 and 3. However, the second and third dice were the successfully chakra laced, so instead they read; 3, 3*, 4*, 3 and 3. The Stranger put on a smile as if he was pleased in himself.

The dealer smiled and nodded watching the boy like the novice gambler he appeared to be. He took placed his chips on the table, took up his dice and rolled them. As the landed; 1, 1, 3, 3 and 2, he smiled and conceded with a slight bow of his head. Grabbed the two chips the boy had bet plus another chip.

He smiled and looked at the boy, the fire never quite leaving the dealer's eyes. He looked like he would never grow tired of these games, nor the thrill of the loss or the win that came with the uncertainty.

"Winner! To the young gentleman."

The Stranger smiled and decided to give it one more go before he eased up. "We wouldn't want anyone get a strange feeling, now would we Karasu?" Before Haruki could think of a response the Stranger thought loudly, "SHUT YOUR ******** MOUTH!"

Apparently the Stranger was only in the mood for rhetorical questions, and in no mood to here from his caged bird. On the outside he couldn't appear more calm and docile. In fact he may have seemed... friendly? Maybe, gambling put him in a good mood? Not likely.

"I'm feeling good today, good sir... call it accurate. I'll wager my four remaining chips?" He knew that his gamble was risky. Maybe that's why he did it, whatever the reason he picked up five dice and began his rolling method like he had done previously.

Instead he specifically wove a layer on all of the lower numbers. He needed to assure victory to give him enough breathing room to actually gamble so the dealer wouldn't catch on. Once he was confident, he rolled the dice the chakra strings connected to each of his five finger tips. The added weight and the connection to the solid mass that was the Stranger's hand in comparison to the dice slowed them down.

The number's rolled out; 3, 4, 3, 4, and 4. The Stranger smiled obviously pleased with himself. He looked up and awaited the dealer's roll.

The dealer smiled, always eager to play the game, but was never happy to wipe out a child. He picked up his dice with a gracefully gloved hand, and nodded to the boy.

"Very well, sir. My roll?"

The dealer made a sharp throw as if he was trying to make his dice hit the table harder than usual. As they tumbled to a stop; 3, 3, 2, 4, and 4. He looked to the kid with a smiled and made a flipping gesture. Suddenly two chips appeared as if out of thin air.

"Winner to eighteen, here you are."

The dealer smiling to himself glad he didn't take all of the kids chips. He leaned back into his chair awaiting the next challenge.

The Stranger cracked his fingers and decided to give the chakra layers a rest for the moment. "Hmm, 6 chips... that will get me nothing. I need to cool off for a second then get aggressive in my bidding." With that he placed two more chips down on the table. Not wanting to lose more than necessary when he couldn't guarantee the outcome. He went through the ritual of rolling his hands together, albeit it was just for appearances to keep up the guise of his cheating habits. He deftly threw the dice across the table eager to see the outcome. Going in blind was risk, if nothing else and exciting!

The thrill of not knowing, the anxiety he could feel building. It was enough to filter out the embers of his foul mood so long as he continued. It seemed gambling was something both Haruki and the Stranger had taken to.

As the boy continued the dealer look on him with a mild musing. In another circumstance he may even like this kid beyond the bar room kinship. He had spunk, enthusiasm and above all manners. Nothing like a elegant gentleman to help pass the time in a world filled with lunatics and uneducated tripe.

He reached out taking his dice and rolled them between his hands twice before flicking them onto the table, getting ready to call out the decision the Lady of Luck had wrought for them.

"Winner to the ten, here you are."

The Stranger smiled, "Eight, getting closer. Finally my bets will start being worth something.. Maybe a couple more.."

"Thank you kindly, I see no reason not to continue? It seems the class is being held up.." The Stranger continued his calm and sedative game. It was relaxing.. enjoyable. Oddly enough, his idle banter and small talk was not forced. He truly enjoyed conversing with this man.

Maybe this is what normal children no and days felt like? He could not be sure. He shook his head and placed to more chips down, ready for another blind roll. He smiled as he churned the dice in his hands. Flicking them onto the table, much like the dealer, doing his very best to imitate him.
"Oh what fun we are having.. right Karasu?"
"Please.... let me out..." It sounded nearly like a sob, lost in the mind only to be heard and ignored by the Stranger.

The dealer watched the boy lay down the bet and smirk as he mirrored almost an exact duplicate to his own throwing technique. This boy was beginning to grow on him. But pleasant thoughts aside, back to business. He gracefully picked up five of the four sided dice and looked at him with an interesting sparkle in his eyes,

"Look here, like THIS."

He flitted the dice from his finger tips to roll and bounce around the table top. His throws were always dextrous and well placed, never hitting the boy's.

"Unfortunate chap, looks like house wins."

The Stranger grimaced, that would be a set back. Letting out a discontent sigh, "Well shucks, guess we can't always stay lucky can we? A chance to earn those back?"

He eyed the dealer as he removed his chips from play. He picked up the dice and carefully layered chakra onto the lower numbers of the dice. It was gradually becoming easier, and it was taking a lot less for him to manipulate the effect each time.

"I'll wager six chips, that should help me win my lost ones back." Placing all of his chips on the table, he rolled the dice as if he were praying to them. Latching on a tendril from each tip of his phalanges to each pyramid. When he threw them, he idly controlled their landing. The came across the table; 4, 3, 2, 4 and 4. Seventeen was a good strong number. He smiled, a pleasantly surprised charade.

The dealer looked at him in disbelief. This boy surely was going to bet himself six feet under. But he regained his expression within an instant. He saw a fire in him that was matched only of the fire within himself. This boy had passion.

"Very well, how can I deny such ferocity and tenacity for the game!"

The dealer hurled his dice secretly hoping with equal parts of his mind that he would lose and triumph. The boy entertained him and he would hate to see him leave, but his pride called on him to win. As the bounced across the table they came to a halt; 4, 1, 3, 3, and 2.

"Winner to the man with seventeen."

The Stranger smiled with child like delight, suddenly turning him into someone attractive and inviting. He took the three chips offered him with a nod and smiled politely. That made nine, now if he bet eight and one four that could give him enough cushion to try betting straight for a little while.

Decision made, he smiled and winked at the dealer.
"I fancy myself a gamblin' man. And I think I have a little bit of luck from that last roll in me yet."

Picking up the five dice, he laced the sides of them appropriately, and with an exact match of grace, flicked the dice across the neon lit table. The number tumbled to a stop; 4, 4, 3, 4, 4.

The dealer's eyebrows shot up in amazement. Seldom in his life had someone claiming to feel lucky ever proved that they were indeed.

"I should say so lad. That was frighteningly impressive."

Nineteen, was a hard number to beat. However he only needed to match it and house rules dictated it his victory. He flicked the dice, putting emphasis on their spin. However as the stopped they came up short; 4, 3, 2, 4, 2. Fifteen just didn't cut it.

"Winner to the nineteen."
