Keely humphed and sighed at the same time, which to any bystander would have sounded like a low pitched squeak. It was hard to be depressed on warm days like these. Though not too hard. She still managed to do it, with all the dark thoughts in her head. She had yet forgiven Carlisle and Ironforge from keeping her past a secret from her. She could have made her own decisions if she had known her past. Could have learned to move on with Ironforge's help. But no, they had thought she was too fragile. Too weak. Too....whatever they thought. But she would show them, she would prove them wrong.
Through all this inner turmoil, Keely had missed the fact that she was now walking in a clearing and coming up on some large boulders.

Viper laid in the sun soaking it up. Ah..the winter was all over and she could finally come back out of hiding. She thought it was wonderful because she had very little fur or none at all with these scales and wings. Picking her head up she looked around seeing if there was anything dangerous around her.Letting out a relieved sigh, viper stretched her wings out fully and eventually putting them back to her sides.
Every once in a while the thought of her 'family' came to mind. That little herd that took her in when she first arrived here scared and helpless. But that little herd helped her grow and become who she was today. Now in return she protected them with everything she had. If one of them got hurt,she was bound to know who or what did it.

Keely finally realized she had come to the boulders when she almost ran into it. She glared at it and grumbled, even talking to it "That's not very nice. What if I had ran into you? I could have fractured my horn, and there where would I be?" She stepped to the side and walked around it, still glaring at it. Almost as if she was silently telling it that she would hurt it if it ever tried to get in her way again.
She began walking again, and that was when she saw the big green creature. It looked like it was some sort of deranged looking kalona. Whatever it was, it looked like it could do damage if it knew Keely was weak. She planted her feet into the ground to steady herself and yelled "Don't come any closer, beast! I can, and will hurt you!" Sweat started to trickle down her neck, though she didn't realize it. She really didn't want to hurt any body. But pretending to be harmful was a lot more successful then pretending to be dead. Most the times those pretending to be dead ended up that way.

Viper heard this little voice squawking at her.Turning her head slightly was a natural colored mare like some of the others in her herd. Standing slowly she raised her wings but didn't bare her fangs. "You know you're weaker then than me.Why would you want to bring yourself to a higher level which could get you killed?" Viper shook her head at the worried mare trying to act tough. "The sweat shows the nervousness and how scared you are of me.Honestly, I wouldn't hurt a soul if I had to." Grumbling at the 'beast' word she growled."I am no 'beast', you just see me as different because I have fangs,wings and.. these weird scales." Huffing viper lowered her wings and made herself look harmless. "You know you shouldn't run up to a serpent or any kind on my ancestors. You'd be ripped to pieces,But unlike them, I don't crave blood and run around like a rapid animal."

Keely was puzzled at this mares words. Was she trying to trick her into lowering her guard, and then attacking? "....Aren't you evil? I hear all Kalona's are evil..." She frowned at the mare and looked down at her streaked neck. She cursed the sweat and started talking to it "Ugh, how are we ever to convince anyone we are strong if you can't even keep up appearances? Don't you WANT to prove to Filo that you don't always need his protection?" She lowered her voice a little, tears welling in her eyes "That you are useful and can help him....can even protect him..."
Her head jerked up to leer at the green mare. "What would you know of beasts? How do you know you aren't one? Have you ever dealt with one? Compared yourself to one before?"
