Samril was overly confidant, having defeated his first Ysali as a Kiandri Dovaa. And, thus, when he traveled out to defeat yet another, or so he thought, he paid less attention to what was going on. He found a Ysali dragon, alright, but it was only as he literally stumbled upon it that he realized what was going on.
In that moment, the dragon had enough time to bind the young Dovaa with vines, preventing him from being able to use his abilities. The Ysali hissed, its tail lashing in anger. But it soon flew off, leaving Samril to wiggle his way free later.
