Noisy, always noisy...
That was how her room was now.
Even when he wasn't there it was like his very association with the room had turned it irreparably loud...
Tambrey had grabbed a book and escaped as soon as she was showered and changed; she'd ventured to the cafeteria and grabbed a light dinner, so now she could stay down here until bed time.
The TV beckoned a little promise of contests yet a quick flick through turned it up to be false; there was a docu or two, a cartoon and an awful soap opera; what did care if this Gloria was sleeping with both Geoff and Susan? Or that Susan's long-lost second cousin, twice removed, was posing as Geoff in order to inherit a secret fortune that the real Geoff had no knowl- Wow, actually she'd learned quite a lot of junk in the minute and a half she'd been watching it.
The grunt sighed and turned it off; well, she had her book, at least.
She moved to sit on one of the couches and, despite it's lack of luxury, sank back into the cushions before seeking out her page.

Three pokeballs graced her belt; two didn't stir, one gave an impatient little wobble but was ignored for a few seconds as she slipped off her shoes and brought her legs up to lounge comfortably while she read.
"5 minutes." She finally addressed it and started to read.

Normally Kratos wasn't one to hang about in the lounge area, simply because there were better things he could be doing with his time, like training his team or working on various (often dull) assignments. But a certain pink Pikachu had decided that he needed to take a break, and so he he entered it, intent on working on some of his notes while he was in here. Miette, after all, was incapable of reading and thus couldn't tell that he was not, in fact, relaxing. When he stepped inside, Miette perched happily on his shoulder, he saw that the lounge was already occupied by another - but she seemed content enough with her book so he did little more than nod at her in greeting and take a seat a ways away from her.

Miette, however, was far more noisy than her trainer. "Pika? Pika chu pi pika?" She asked curiously, hopping down from the redhead's shoulder and blinking bright blue eyes at the strange Rocket. Who was she? Did she come here often? What was she doing? Kratos made a quite "Hn," sound and dropped his hand onto her head, which caused the small pokémon to quiet immediately... but also to turn and pout up at him. She was just being social!

"Let her be, Miette," he chided softly, unfazed by the sad blue eyes before him. He knew Miette's tricks and she wasn't going to get her way in this situation.

Two pages in and Tambrey became aware of someone else entering the room.
Well, half-aware.
Alright, she completely missed it and kept on reading until he passed by and nodded, causing her to 'eep!' and blink a little in surprise at finding another occupant in with her.
She'd 'tuned out' to read, clearly, and now coloured red at being surprised.
"Uh, hi." She smiled at Kratos and.. a pink pikachu.
Huh.
"Sorry, I, uh," She lifted the book, dumbly, like it would answer everything "was book. Uh, reading, I mean." That wasn't the greatest sort of greeting ever.

The dark-haired girl didn't seem too bothered by the noise coming from the Pikachu, at least, though she certainly seemed distracted from her book now.
"Uh, hey there!" She waved at the, suddenly, quiet electric type.
"Oh, Miette?" Tam' repeated the name given, looking to Kratos for confirmation and attempting to reassure him at the same time. "Hey, don't worry 'bout it; 's fine, I like them." She nodded at the pokemon with a smile.
Meanwhile, her pokeball rocked again, suddenly, and a little more violently; someone really wanted to come out.

Quirking an eyebrow slightly, Kratos nodded. "I can see that," he said, with the patience of one who has frequently had to deal with the unintelligible explanations of small children. "I apologize for disturbing you; Miette seems to believe that she needs to be introduced to everyone she comes across," he added, casting a look at the still-pouting pikachu. He didn't add that it was probably left over from her past as a contest pokémon, because that was really unnecessary.

Upon being greeted by the stranger, however, Miette immediately perked back up and offered a cheery wave of greeting. "Pikapika!" She turned a pleading gaze up to Kratos, who decided that since they had already disturbed the lady from her reading that there wasn't much point in refusing her whims any more.

"Alright, you can say hello," he said, his expression one of resigned amusement. Miette's response was to stick her tongue out at him, and then to sniff curiously at the other rocket. Would she answer her previous questions now, please?

Well, patience was good; still that had been an embarrassing babble of a greeting and explanation; she'd just have to make a better... wait, was it still the first impression? It wasn't a 'second meeting' after all, still just a first. So perhaps she could 'salvage' this first impression...

"Well, that's fair enough." Tambrey replied with a smirk, taking a chance to regard the other person casually from behind her glasses, before looking down to the pikachu and sitting up to be properly introduced.
She held out a hand downward, as Miette sniffed at her, as if offering to shake the pokemon's paw.
"Hello Miette, I'm Tambrey; 's nice to meet you." She rather hoped that the other rocket would introduce himself too; right now it was somewhat an unfair advantage on his part.
Unable to understand pokespeak, Tambrey wasn't exactly answering all the questions...
Again the pokeball shook; it had been five minutes and more, the being inside was sure, and now something was happening /outside/! They had to get out and see!
The ball shook again.
"Huh. Looks like someone else wants t' be introduced." Tam' commented, unclipping the ball from her belt.
PostPosted: Wed May 30, 2012 7:09 pm

Kratos eyed the wiggling ball and raised an eyebrow again. "Eager to be let out, I see," he said as Miette tried to get closer to sniff at the wiggling pokéball. Oh, but he hadn't introduced himself, had he? Not that he was overly-inclined to be social, unlike his pikachu... but it was only polite. He could hear Anna now, berating him for focusing too much on his pokémon and not on making polite conversation.

"...Kratos." And now he could almost feel Anna's ghost rapping him in the back of the head, because he knew there was no way that would ever come across as anything other than taciturn and likely rather confusing. But there was no fixing it now, so he wasn't going to bother stumbling over himself to try and clarify. If she wanted to know, she would ask.

For her part, Miette was extremely curious to find out who was in that pokéball - was it someone she'd seen before? Someone new? Someone interesting and nice or boring and sad or scary and mean? She wanted to know and she hoped Tambrey would let her find out sooner rather than later. "Pika! Pi pi chu pikachu ka chu!"

"Hm?" Kratos? She didn't make the connection at first, but without anything else to apply the word to, and not knowing what else it /could/ refer too, Tambrey was left to deduce that it was probably his name. "Oh! Nice t' meet you, Kratos; 's an unusual name." She thought about how that might be taken and quickly amended the comment with "Nice though."

The string of Pikachu noise from Miette got a blink from Tam' and another, energetic, wobble of the pokeball.
"Uh, all right, all right, I'm lettin' 'm out," She pressed the button, causing a flash of red light to emit and then dissipate into the form of a Golbat; a rather pink one.

Lasi had /known/ something was going on out there and he was ready to come out and explore and hello fancy looking man! He grinned at him, then found his eyes drawn to the pink Pikachu; ooh!
"Guuuh!" He greeted, forgetting his flapping and excitement to be out of the ball, all attention fixed on the pink electric type now instead. She was so /pink/ and /pretty/!

Fortunately, Kratos was used to such comments about his name - primarily because it was, in fact, rather unusual - and as such didn't really take offense. The added compliment was unnecessary, he felt... but so were many other 'polite' turns of phrase that were commonly used. "It's good to meet you, as well," he said - another pointless turn of phrase that didn't really mean anything. He watched Tambrey idly as she released her overeager pokémon; perhaps it was young? Or just an exuberant personality... 'Or both,' he thought idly as the pink golbat materialized.

Miette gasped at the sight of the pink golbat and twitched her tail in excitement. "Pika! Chu pikapi pika!" she greeted, putting her paws to her cheeks and blushing faintly. Here was a handsome fellow, and in such a lovely color! And so flattering! Oh yes, it had been particularly brilliant of her to make Kratos come here today. It was so worth it if she got to visit with this handsome gentleman.

Spotting her blush, Kratos lips twitched into the barest smirk of amusement. Pokémon could be such ridiculous creatures... and at times like this he could truly see Anna's influence on Miette. The pikachu was hers first and always would be Anna's pokémon at heart.

Tambrey smiled; pointless or not, it always felt nice, she thought, that people always said they were pleased to meet each other. It was an 'empty pleasantry', sure, but she liked it and appreciated it.

She watched the pokemon interact with some amusement; both pink, for one, was interesting, but Lasi's sudden... was he being bashful?... shift in focus was curious.
The Pikachu (Miette, she reminded herself) was blushing; that was adorable and she blinked, discerning with careful eye, as Lasi, too, seemed to colour slightly deeper.
"Well, looks like they're happy 'nuff t' meet each other then." She commented to Kratos, before looking to him. "Is Miette a Pinkan breed? I mean, I'm pretty sure Lasi is. I know 's possible to, uh, manipulate that colour into them though as well..." Hopefully that didn't come across as offensive; it was only supposed to be curiosity.

"Guuuhbuhh..." He still wore a dopier grin than usual and just knew he sounded like an idiot as he blushed, gave his name (he was Lasi) and commented on how it was nice to meet such an unusually pretty Pikachu... Or tried to, some of it had become a pokespeech equivalent of a mumble. Oh dear.
Maybe he should.. get her a gift or something.. to show he wanted to be friends very much, as apparently his talking was tumbling all his 'guhs' and 'buhs' around so that they weren't sounding quite as good as he'd wanted them to. Yes, he was sure he sounded like an idiot.
Ah!
The vending machine.
With a quick wing gesture for 'wait there', Lasi sailed through the air and knocked himself into a vending machine; apparently it was a practiced and tolerated move (Tambrey barely batted an eyelid at it- she was in Team Rocket, so what was petty theft now?- and simply gave a "Don't break that.") and Lasi, unscathed, landed and began gesturing at the where the machine would drop the candy bar.
He couldn't get it, with his wings, but he was sure the Pikachu could probably retrieve it and it was his gift for her anyway!
The bat beamed goofily.
"Guh buh!" For you.

"I'm not sure 'happy' is how I would describe it," Kratos said, and despite the flatness of his voice there was a shine of amusement in his eyes as he watched the two pokémon interact. Then Tambrey asked about Miette's heritage and he had to think for a moment. What had Anna said about where she had gotten Miette? He couldn't remember, and the realization that he couldn't made him frown slightly. "It's a possibility, but the only one who would know is... unavailable to ask," he answered, deliberately keeping his expression unreadable.

Miette, though quite thoroughly delighted with Lasi, cast a glance at her trainer before going back to her conversation."Kachu! Pipi chupikachu!" She was Miette, she informed the golbat, and it was very nice to get to meet another pink pokémon since she so rarely saw those of a color similar to hers.

When he flew over to the vending machine, she gasped and darted behind him, thrilled that he could knock a tasty treat loose - a tasty treat that she quickly scooped up and hugged to her chest. Then she put it aside and started jumping up and down, trying to get Lasi to get closer to her reach. Miette wanted to thank him properly for such a wonderful gift.

Hm. She wasn't sure- happy did seem a good word, but he was also right, there was a definite, ridiculously obvious, atmosphere to the meeting between Pikachu and Golbat.
Tam' nodded, then frowned lightly at the answer to her question.
'Unavailable to ask'? Tambrey mused on the statement and considered varying meanings to such words; in truth, none of the reasons were anything she could ask, she thought, without possibly overstepping some social barrier or upsetting Kratos.
She settled on a cliché; "Sorry."

Miette...
It was a pretty name, he thought, so he told her so.
Knocking the treat loose was something he'd done so many times, he'd forgotten that it was, in fact, a skill that he was rather proud of.
Lasi was delighted to have impressed and even more with the reaction to the gift; he waddled across the floor and tried to better accommodate for the electric type's size, getting himself as low as he could without falling over to do that embarrassing 'floor-swim' his wings would lead him to.
Well, actually usually that was fun, but he was trying to be suave and impressive!

Kratos watched the unabashed flirting going on between the two pokémon, and almost smiled. Miette really had picked up a lot from Anna... which meant that he knew what the pink pikachu was planning, and he was entirely sure that the poor Golbat was completely unprepared for what Miette had in mind for him. It nearly brought another smirk to his lips... but Tambrey's apology caught him a bit by surprise and took the hint of a smile away. In response, he nodded. "Apologies are pointless when you aren't the one at fault," he said, and if his voice was just a little tight when he spoke, then, well it could be explained by the awkwardness of a discussion with a stranger.

Miette blushed again and waited eagerly for the Golbat to get closer to her. Once he was close enough, she stood up as tall as she could and smiled at him. "Pika, pikapika, pi~" the electric type chirped, batting her eyelashes as she murmured a thank you... and then quite deliberately licked the enormous bat pokémon's cheek-body. "Piiikaaa~"

"Hm. S'pose so," Tambrey agreed "but it feels better f'r saying it."
She smiled, following his gaze, that she noted had changed along with his voice, slightly.
"Fault 'r not, 's said." She wasn't going to take it back or invalidate it; she /was sorry/ for whatever it was, whatever loss was there.
She smirked as the pink Pikachu licked her pink Golbat, but wasn't too surprised by what happened next, even though she'd have been surprised to hear the reasoning, if she could, from the bat.

Lasi was going to get a hug! Or a kiss! Something good, one of those, was going to happen.
'Thank you' and..!
A lick!
Far from too much awkward surprise, horror or shock, Lasi appeared to be delighted; he flapped slightly, swayed happily and then attempted to give her a lick right back.

"Hn," was all Kratos said in response, preferring instead to watch the antics of the pokémon. The two pink creatures were being very silly and more than a little ridiculous, but at least they were obviously enjoying themselves - and providing Kratos with more than a little amusement to focus on instead of more stressful topics.

As for Miette, she was surprised when Lasi licked her back, and she almost shot off sparks before reining them in - it probably made her a little tingly to the touch! "Pika pi pikaaaa!" she squealed, bursting into happy giggles and trying to offer half of her new candy bar to Lasi.

Well, it wasn't much of a response, but then Tambrey hadn't really known what else she might have been expecting in reply to that.
She shrugged and smiled as she watched the pokemon; it was cute, and a little surprising- Lasi had never been like this with any other pokemon before.
Sure he'd often play, but to watch him interact like this and actually gift food...
"She's made quite th' impression..." She hadn't intended to say anymore, but out it came anyway.

Lasi felt static arcing over his pink body, but no attack came and, despite his natural weakness to the element, he didn't find himself frightened that any attack would happen.
It was a nice tingly feeling that made his wings feel funny.
He blinked as Miette offered to share the candy bar with him and was about to object that it was his gift to her, but then realised that sharing food was exactly what humans were always doing in those films on 'dates'!
Afterward, perhaps he could even get another one down and have another 'date'... Was that how it worked? Or was that just 'extending' the first 'date'.
He wasn't sure; human romance was confusing, but seemed to always work in those films.
The happy giggles delighted him though and he found himself telling her that it was an even happier noise than the sound of a deep fat fryer or popcorn being made.
