Was running away cowardly? Given the objective of this twisted game, Beta thought not. The point was to survive for a week while at the same time eliminating the other competitors. Was it really necessary for him to fight a giant, watery hand? No, it wasn’t. It was only natural for him to escape while he still could. As for the “lucky” few who decided to stay and fight? Good luck with that. Beta rolled his eyes as he pulled back out his phone to examine the message. He scrutinized the word “group.” It probably meant there was at least one other group of people out there. Five survivors would have been far too kind if it was just the crowd he had woken up with. His grip on the phone tightened. Damn, that was so troublesome.
After what seemed like forever, his feet brought him to a different area. He looked around at the abandoned buildings, ready to crumble at a moment’s notice. It seemed like a ghost town. Beta opted to head toward one of the dusty homes for temporarily shelter while he formulated a plan. He flinched when he placed a foot on the first step. It was loud and creaky. Hopefully no one was around to hear that.
Then he stopped, tilting his head to the side. The odds of surviving on his own were slim. It would be beneficial to make an alliance of sorts, so long as it did not exceed five, though he preferred a group smaller than that. More than five would no doubt guarantee backstabbing.
Beta grimaced. Troublesome.

Running had definitely been the smarter choice in Psi's opinion. Staying behind to fight a creature like that with the measly weapons they were provided was like asking for an early grave and he wasn't dying today. Was he cowardly for running? Maybe so, but if it meant his survival, he would gladly play the cowards role. After all, from what the message said, there can only be five survivors so aiding anyone who remained behind would be like shooting himself in the foot. Yes. That's that he told himself.
Once he was sure he was far enough away from the creature and anyone else, he stopped for a breather. Somehow he had managed to get a fair distance without bumping into anyone or anything and made it all the way over to what appeared to be an abandoned town. What made it abandoned, he didn't want to know. For now he was satisfied with the fact that he had made it out of there unscathed and alone.
Only turns out he wasn't alone.
A little further off there was someone else present. Another red and black clad person. They must have escaped to the town like he had. Though whether they were trust worthy or not... he wasn't so sure he wanted to find out so soon. So instead of walking up to them, he moved back behind a building where he could keep out of view, but keep an eye on them at the same time.

After having escaped from the blue base, Chi would need to make sure to keep an eye out for any of her teammates in pursuit of her. She had heard someone yelling something at her and some other guy from their group, about how they should not ditch them. Really now..what did they expect? They got the same message as she. Only five people would make it off of this island--alive that is. If they wanted to stay behind and throw their lives away to the monster that attacked, then they were welcomed to it. Her chances of surviving this mess would only go up from there if they died anyways. She needed to pick and choose her targets, carefully..not risk her life over every little 'problem' that popped up.
Perched atop one of the rundown buildings, Chi peered down from where she sat. It was eerily quiet here, and there was no one in sight. Well..not until a candidate dressed in red arrived.
Not moving from her spot, Chi rested her chin on her hands, watching the boy, unaware there was another person hidden somewhere in the town. Finally seeing enough, she grasped the wooden stake and jumped down in front of the boy in red, Beta. "Well, hi there! Your not lost, are you?"

Beta didn’t realize there was another person from the red group. No, he didn’t have a magical sixth sense. He still remained on the front steps of the building, waiting for someone to appear from one of the many hiding spots in the town, but no one came out, at least not yet. He relaxed a bit, allowing himself to traverse the next few steps until he was on the front porch of the house.
Then he just about nearly had a heart attack when someone jumped down from the roof and landed in front of him. “AGH!” He lifted both hands and then wildly reached for the nunchucks. Crap. How the hell did people use nunchucks? He didn’t know. This was so troublesome—oh the person wasn’t attacking. Beta paused and scrutinized the other candidate. She wasn’t attacking, he corrected. “Not really, but I didn’t have a particular destination in mind when I left,” he answered, his head turned slightly away as he eyed Chi with suspicion. Unlike him, she was donned in blue. She must have been in the other group the message implied. “What about yourself?”
When she still had not attacked him with the stake in her hand, he relaxed a bit, but continued to occasionally flick his gaze toward the weapon. “All by yourself?”
