Life Hunter BATTLE ARENA General Information The portal opens up into an observation room, and down the stairs, an odd chamber for something like hunter training. At the center of a piranha-filled pool stands a solid stone table and several chairs. The Life Arena was built underneath the demolitions and ballistics testing areas, and the chamber rumbles with the occasional explosions above. Pinpoint red lasers sweep across the room regularly, as if hidden snipers are searching for a nice target. In the center of the table sits a wooden tower, made up of smaller wooden blocks. Yes. That's right. The Life Hunters prefer to train via Jenga.
Note: Distraction techniques and Yo Momma jokes are considered viable weapons when playing competitively.
If you fail: you have knocked down the tower! A small dart hits the back of your neck. You come to several hours later, and hope Dr. H didn't do anything to your body while you were unconscious. When you look into the mirror...
If you win: you have reached 50 points! You get a sharpie marker to do with as you please. peen points go to those with the highest scores.
Mechanics - by carefully removing pieces of the tower, you earn points and advance to the next round. As the rounds continue, the odds grow steadily against you. Rolling a 1 at any point means you have knocked down the tower. Please do enjoy your mystery dart. Anything after reaching 50 points is purely for peen.
- you may roll pieces individually (suggested for group play) or in batches of 5 (basically, a full round.)

Attempt 1Ami wandered into the room somewhat guardedly. After her time with Princess Island, she was expecting fighting, yelling, defending. All of the things she wasn't very good at.
Instead, when she walked in she was rather pleased to find that it was a simple walkway with a table on the end. She frowned a little, apprehensively, but it turned into an expression of "oh hey, not bad." Ami walked with trepidation only to be rocked by an explosion and onto the ground of the walkway. It was then that she noticed, on the ground, that her face was only a few inches from an angrily swirling group of pirahnas.
Ami flailed backwards a few steps and then ran forward to the end of the platform, reaching the small table of jenga. Lasers crossed over her, but not a single one fired, so Ami figured they were for show.
She kept her cool head and stared at the jenga game. Was she supposed to ... ? Well she DID like jenga.
Ami pried five pieces from the tower, and set them down gently. The start of the game was never difficult. Ami wished it would've been monopoly though. She LOVED monopoly.

Ami sat at the table quietly, now blocking the explosions out from her mind entirely. Every once in a while there was a big one that jarred her upright again, but most of her concentration was on the jenga came. She found slipping into a sort of focused trance was entirely enjoyable.
She slipped out five more pieces, slipping a little on the fourth, but truly not having any trouble. Now came the hard part.

Ami slid two more pieces out with ease. She was about to go for the third one when a piranha jumped out of the water and knocked her hand loose.
The tower collapsed right before her eyes, and she slammed a hand on the table.
Ami hated to lose.
Moments after she slammed her hand, a dart hit her in the back of the neck, and everything went black.

Attempt 2Hours later, no, Dr. H hadn't come to get her actually, Ami woke up groggily with her head still flopped on the table. She shook herself a little and noticed the jenga blocks were still strewn about the table still.
Since there was no measurement of time in the life training course, there was no way for Ami to tell that hours had passed. She simply assumed she'd only been out for about 10 minutes. Not saying a word, she calmly stacked up the jenga game once more.
After all it was a fluke. It was just a fish jumping out of the water that got her to lose that game. It had nothing to do with her skill. Clearly.

With a steady hand, she removed three pieces carefully and quickly. The beginning really wasn't ever hard. Her hand stuttered a bit with the fifth one, but soon she had a little pile of blocks next to her. She was stacking up points somewhat quickly and astutely, not that she cared. She just wanted to this little tower to stay up.
< Ami there's a piece near the bottom that'd be pretty good. >
The huntress was about to tell Junpei something about shutting up when she realized he'd actually made a pretty good point. She slid the block out and put it beside her. Huh... well ... thanks.
She could practically hear Junpei preening.

< There's also- >
You're pushing it. I can do it.
She slid a few more blocks. The tower wobbled and she swore it was about to topple, but nothing happened. It stayed upright, but things were getting intense now. Concentrate and focus. She could do this.

Ami needed 10 more points. Just one more block, according to the small chart next to the table. She narrowed her eyes as she pushed a block slowly, calmly. It had to be done just right or you'd knock it over.
The whole tower stuttered and wobbled in a worrisome manner, but didn't fall over. She managed to get the first block out using this method ... then the second. So far so good.
Her hand was shakier on the third block. She honestly just kept thinking about how it would be fun to play this with Wilson- she imagined him good at board games. She herself was terrible at most because she sucked at math, but she still enjoyed them. Did Em and Wilson play board games? Why couldn't she get her mind off this.
As the jenga tower fell over, all she could think about was Emmaline. The dart in the back of her neck was a welcome abyss.
When she woke up later, she stood up calmly and grabbed the permanent marker that had been placed on her table, and walked out the door.
