Hunting. It was something she had learned to enjoy throughout her growth. At first, she was scared of leaving the boundaries of the Flock territory. Scared to the point that she avoided the first couple hunts, even though her sisters had already gone on theirs. Vanwyn had a bad experience as a little filly. Bu now that she had grown more confident in her skills and grace, and since she had hunted with some of the sisters of the Flock a few times, she was more confident. She loved going out, even on her own, and wandering outside. Though she was never gone for long, always returning before nightfall, or within a few hours. She always came home.
The lovely snow coated mare lifted her head, ears perking up as she looked around with those lovely sea green eyes. Vanwyn sniffed slightly, before moving slowly along the brush, careful of her feathers and gold trinkets that decorated her body. She shifted along the grassy forest, letting her eyes wandering from one place to another. She knew that they needed more meat for the Soquili in their lands that needed it. And wanting to stretch her legs outside the grounds once more, she wandered out to hunt for something that could sustain a few of the meat eaters for another day or so.
The Harpy flicked her eyes, her claws clicking against the ground as she walked. She spotted something ahead, her eyes locking. She was a huntress, through and through. No matter how lovely, anything could be deadly. Much like a rose with its thorns, or the lovely snake that had such pretty colors, but could kill you within minutes. Moving quietly, she waited. When the moment came, the rabbit’s head lowered, she surged forward, and attacked the innocent creature, her claws locking around it’s body, pinning the creature to the ground. Using her other claw, she slashed into the rabbit’s body, killing it within seconds. That was that; she now had the meal for a meat eater. A few more, and she would be done.
Vanwyn tucked the small body into a pouch she brought with her, attaching it to a chain along her body. The mare nodded her head, before moving forward slowly, her tail giving a slight flick, causing the feathers and hair to shift and glisten in the light. She moved, quietly, carefully, killing one small creature after another, and soon had three within her pouch. Thinking to herself, she decided that one more would be enough to keep them fed for two days, at the least.

Blood. Nose inhaling scents silently, pawed feet carrying his strong body forward through the trees..towards the delicious scent. However the sound of a dying animal really peaked Honovi's interest..pausing his eyes flicked around, finally catching sight of feathers and..something shiny. Well well what had he found today? Curious and, not suffering for a starving stomach he stepped closer..ears perked as his eyes again caught better sight of..a mare. A very strange mare. He had heard tell of such mares who all lived together like a group of birds..like a herd but, not the same. The Flock. That's what it had been called, whispered and feared by some. Hmph..what was to fear? Frowning but, not yet letting his presence be known he continued to watch, giving her his full attention. Oh how long had it been since he had seen another hunt? Seen someone else attacking with such graceful movements as she did. Though Honovi did not find many worth his time, the more he watched the feathered mare of the 'flock'. Stalking, circling he could feel his excitement grow..despite having eaten not too long ago his mouth felt dry, longing for a little taste of blood. Finally choosing to show himself he took the steps out from the shadows of the trees, smile flickering..bringing life to his face. "Well well..what a lovely little bird. Not just a normal bird..a huntress..mm..you are quite intriguing my lady. I do hope I'm not intruding."

She was quite pleased. And though she hungered to eat as well, the Harpy decided against it here. There was no river nearby to wash the blood off her face, and she would not come home to such a sight. Her family wouldn’t look down upon her for it, but she didn’t want to have to worry about it staining. Shaking out her mane, the mare lowered her head and nibbled slightly along the grass, tasting some of the blood of the recently killed rodent on her tongue. She smiled some, ears swiveling some, before laying still. The was rather delicious, actually. She suppressed a laugh, before lifting her head, eyes scanning the area around her, and started forward once more.
It wasn’t until he spoke that Vanwyn realized someone else was around. Turning her head quickly, and locking her bright eyes on him, the mare stilled. Her body became stiff, on edge. And for a moment, she frowned. But when he spoke, when his words registered in her perked ears, she let a small smile grace her face, making her all the more beautiful. She turned slightly, very careful of how she moved, and eyed him from ear tip to the tip of his animal like tail. She had never seen someone like this before. He had paws instead of hooves; and where she was used to the claws of the Harpies, this was a sight she had never thought she’d see. Vanwyn let her ears flicker as she admired him. He was strong looking, and tall, handsome too. And where the thought of a capture crossed her mind, her own safety was more important to her. Tactics was the way to go, not force.
“It seems that you have some manners about you. That is a good trait, indeed. As for your intrusion, it is nonexistent. After all, I do not own this area of the wood. You are a brave stallion, approaching someone such as I.” Vanwyn smiled, batting her eyes slightly, before turning to face him, but kept her distance all the same. “What is your name, brave stallion?”

Smile never faltering Honovi stalked closer, not too close..he would never act so foolish. Underestimating another because of gender ended up being most hunter's main mistake. "Brave am I? Do not insult me Milady. I have more than just 'some manners' to me...but, that's not the real point here. My name is Honovi.." Snorting faintly at her batting eyes he gave a delicate shake of his head. "Such things will not work on me I'm afraid..beauty means little in this world..if ones mind and claws are not sharp their beauty will be crushed into nothing..swiped from the earth in one mighty slash." Rumbling, his deep voice carried through the area, pawed feet again moving him in a wide circle of the mare. So curious..so interesting and, unique. Truly a odd find on his journey through these lands. "I assume you are one of those..of the Flock that I have heard of? Sounds..interesting.." Smiling wider, flashing a fang..tail twitching to touch the mare's side as he again stopped to face her. "So tell me huntress of the flock..do you just have beauty..or are you a strong mighty killer..with a wonderful mind? Hmm?"

That smile… It almost taunted her. The mare let her ears flick up, watching him with careful eyes. She flicked her gaze quickly, looking around. If it came to a fight, she could take to the trees easily, and escape him if things seemed to go downhill for her. Of course, she wouldn’t just run straight out. Oh no, she would hold her ground for as long as she could, before fleeing. But for now, she pretended that the option wasn’t available. Why start a fight when she could easily learn more about this intriguing stallion before her. She smiled, her eyes locked on him once more. “Insult? Why, dear Honovi, I would never insult someone without reason.”
When he mentioned her beauty, she was filled with pride. Even if he was talking about how easily one could be crushed. She knew that even though she was beautiful, she was also deadly. Vanwyn was a skilled hunter. She would never allow anyone the upper hand. She had taken down larger creatures and animals, even on her own. Though at times, she preferred hunting with her Sisters. “Beauty is something my family prides ourselves in. The beginning of my name means such. And if you think I am some… unskilled huntress, you are mistaken, pet. My claws are as sharp as my looks are stunning.”
The Flock? How did he know of them. Vanwyn felt her body go on guard. She felt the flick of his tail against her side, and tilted her head, glancing at the location where it grazed, before looking forward again. He was brave. She felt her heart thump hard in her chest. She was on alert, and she would stay as such until she knew he was not a threat. “I am of the Flock… A sister through and through. As for telling you of the Flock, I can’t, or rather won’t. I do not know you very well, Honovi, and I will not risk the lives of my Sisters. I am a killer, a strong one; I have been trained to take down foes bigger than I ,and I am smart. Tactics is what I live for.” She let out a small, cooing noise, her eyes batting once more, merely out of habit. “And you may address me as Mistress Vanwyn, Honovi.”

A sharp mind she had indeed..with an even sharper tongue to match but, it did not bother him in the slightest. In fact it made him even more intrigued, it made him have the start of respect for the beautiful harpy. "Hmm..I did not ask to be told 'Mistress', I merely commented on them..if I wanted to attack the Flock I would have already done so..I have only heard of them in passing and, have not nor will I ever be like those blood thirsty disgusting monsters." Growling darkly he stopped for a moment to allow his blue orbs a quick meeting with her's. "I do hope one as smart as you would not dishonor me by EVER comparing me to one of those beasts..though I do carry my own dark side..it is only interested in meat. Not the blood shed of innocents.." Feeling he had spoken enough for now Honovi moved back a few paces, tail twitching with mild irritation. Skinwalkers..purewalkers..such monsters. He had not asked for this life..had not longed to be feared and, judged for enjoying the delicious taste of flesh. Brushing away the memories that wanted so desperately to take hold within him Honovi spoke once more. "Well then, I have food to capture..and a journey ahead. Some have asked for my help in passing through these dangerous lands, they await my return." Truthfully he wished to leave only because that blasted little group had a foal among them, one that would be easy prey for a dark hearted beast. Vanywn also had him too interested..he could not be caught in the beauties web..he still had a life to live.

Vanwyn watched him, her eyes flickering. What was that? Anger? Resentment? Disgust? She frowned, tilting her head to the side, which only caused her mane of feathers and hair to shift as well, falling over her shoulder lightly. She took a slight step forward, letting her sharp eyes search the stallion, before she nodded her head. It was true he hadn't asked. But she was cautious after her incodent as a foal. And where he didn't seem to be a walker at all, then he was fine. But this stallion, he was different, and had caught the lovely mare's attention, by far.
"That beast...? You mean Walkers..." Vanwyn's voice was almost scared, almost. She shook her head some, letting her eyes move away from the stallion, and stare toward the ground. Taking a deep breath, she shifted and turned back toward her home, tail giving a slight flick. Stopping for a moment, she reached into her bag, and pulled out one of the rabbits, tossing it toward him. "Save yourself some time, and get there soon. If you wish to see me again, come back here in two days. I will be here around noon, if not a little later." She flashed him a small smile, before looking back forward, and took to the trees, her claws scraping at the bark. She stopped when she felt high enough, before looking back down toward him. "And Honovi, I would never compare you to a Walker. You're far to smart, cunning, and good looking to be considered one."

Confused and somehow unsure of himself for once in his life the stallion quietly snatched up the rabbit, giving a little snort. He did not speak but, did stare after the feathered beauty..the huntress that had broken through the walls he'd worked so hard to keep up. After thoroughly devouring the sweet rabbit's flesh he looked off into the distance..just for a moment longer imagining the sound of rustling feathers. Imagining sharp glittering eyes watching when he turned to leave the little expanse of forest.
Two days of traveling left Honovi worn but, he'd made it mostly in time..part of the stallion's more wild side asked 'why', why had he bothered coming back at a females request. Why had he shown up in the exact spot of their first meeting? He'd never given in to another mare/stallion's request unless he got something out of it. Chest heaving the worn male lowered himself under the shade of a big oak tree, ears alert while his body stayed at ease..he'd traveled so far, so fast in only two days. Barely stopping to rest, to eat he knew that later in the evening his urge for flesh would become unbearable. Maybe Vanwyn wouldn't show up, maybe she had forgotten their strange meeting.

"You came."
Her voice was like liquid silk. Eyes bright, her body easily perched up in the trees. Vanwyn had spent the past two days thinking about that strange stallion she had met. Over the past two days, she had found herself obsessing almost. He was so different, so exquisite. And she wanted him. Though she didn't say it out loud to any of the other Flock members, Vanwyn knew that somehow, someway, she would get that lovely stallion to be her pet, even if it meant having to fight him in some way or another. She had made many different things, from necklaces to metal weavings. She had practiced her dancing, her music. But now she was here, and he was here.
And she was happy.
Vanwyn smiled lightly, before she bound quietly down the tree trunks, and landed gracefully onto the grass, feeling the coolness against her claws. Her long hair moved lightly down along her shoulders and back, touching the ground as she moved forward. He was tired? She didn't realize how far he had to travel to get here. Frowning lightly, she tilted her head, before letting a soft smile grace her features. The Harpy shifted, moving forward until she was closer to him, her head dipping down to watch him for a moment. Moving to reach into her small pouch, she pulled out another small rodent, and placed it before him, offering it easily.
"Eat, you look famished." She said, smiling lightly toward him, her eyes batting some. She had to admit, she was extremely pleased that he had came here. It made her happy. And she honestly had no idea why that was.

Ears twitching restlessly the stallion snapped up the rodent, easily eating it bones and all though the fur left a bad taste in his mouth he murmured his thanks. "Thank you, I did not have time to eat on my way back..it is such a long distance.." Yet seeing her again made him feel energized..like he could run for another two days straight without tiring. His feet however protested the mere thought of moving one more inch..one more footstep without rest or a cool dip in some water. "You look well. I hope you do not think..that this will be easy.." He'd been thinking it over during the journey here back to her. Honovi knew little of the flock except that mares ruled over the males..that his freedom would be cut short if he let Vanwyn too close. That might have been why he enjoyed being near her so much. Rarely did he get to feel a thrill of excitement like this from another living being; others could be so very boring. Yet she stood out like a rose among weeds..tempting the male to do things he'd never dreamed of doing. Giving up his freedom, staying in one place forever, having children should she wish it. Perhaps he'd lost his mind on the long run back. Shaking off the many thoughts his head once more lowered, blue orbs simply taking her in. "You are the only mare I have let so close without scaring them off..most are insufferable creatures. So weak and needy..." Not her. She stood strong as a huntress with mighty claws, yet she still managed to look beautiful. Most creatures could not be deadly and beautiful at the same time! Honovi did not find himself ugly of course but, he also did not find himself overly 'graceful' or 'beautiful'. Not like Vanwyn. The earth could quake and, fall to pieces but, the stallion thought she would still be there standing strong. "I have never had a mare make me think such things. My head feels over filled.." His heart ached with longing too but, the male would not admit such a thing aloud. Coming to a silent conclusion inwardly he lifted his head once more, limbs aching as he stood to his full height. "If you mean to capture me than by all means do it while you have me snared by your breathtaking beauty oh lovely jewel. " Yes, he would let himself become the mares..as long as she kept him close to marvel at her loveliness..and never made him miss a meal. "Though I warn you I am not a tame stallion..without meat I will become volatile and should you ever dare try tying me down or binding me..I will blind myself so your charms cannot steal my heart any longer."

Vanwyn blinked, staring at him. She smiled lightly, her eyes fluttering, before walking slowly forward, her claws lightly scraping at the grass. She was happy. Happy he had come back. It meant that Vanwyn had a chance to get this lovely stallion to be hers for the rest of his days. Flicking her feathered tail, the Harpy paused, staring toward him with her head held high. He was stunning, really. Even as he ate. She was about to lift her voice, tell him not to eat the fur or the bones; it would be bad for his digestion. But, she refrained, wanting him to get the substance he thought he needed. If needed, Vanwyn would give more meet to the stallion, so that he would be strong enough to make it the rest of the way to the Flock.
Instead of responding to his statement, Vanwyn just gave him a gentle nod, a flutter of her eyes, and a smile. He was entrapped. It made her even happier. Because, he was trapped in her spell. Tilting her head lightly to the side, Vanwyn let out a small chirp, mostly of encouragement. Shifting, Vanwyn moved to walk a gentle circle around the stallion, her pretty eyes locked on him. "Over filled? Why, Honovi. You are merely just half a cup full. I assure you, you will learn much if you stay with me, pet." Vanwyn said, voice a pretty trill of excitement.
At the mention of capture, Vanwyn smiled, a full smile. Her eyes lit up. Letting her claws flex lightly, she moved forward, and ran her body lightly along his, walking a small circle around him, keeping her body pressed either way. She pressed full against him, moving her head to lightly nestle it under his. Vanwyn could feel great pride in her little chest, very glad that he had agreed to come with her. Pulling her head back, she lightly nipped at his hair, tugging playfully, before moving forward, aiming to lightly tug him along, before releasing the hair, and moved slowly, knowing that Honovi was tired. She didn't want to make her poor pet over exert himself, when he was so close to the edge either way.
"You will be a wonderful pet, Honovi, I promise. And trust me, darling, you will get all the meat you need, and hunt as well. With your build, I will enjoy taking you hunting with me. As for binding, you will only be bound by me, Honovi. Not by rope or chain." Vanwyn said, her eyes turning toward Honovi, staring toward him with calm eyes. "Now come with me, pet. Let's go home. You will be welcomed into the Flock, even if they are cautious at first."
