It had taken him all day to put away the clothing that Hugo had bought for him. Several things Obli had insisted up and even though they were not Hugo’s taste in what he thought Oblivion should wear, the fiend liked them. It gave Obli a style that was definitely his own. He liked his clothing a certain way and nothing Hugo said enticed him to do otherwise. Finally Hugo had accepted it and still gotten him a couple of more update shirts and vests, even a jean jacket. Perhaps the fiend would loosen up and wear them at some point.
Oblivion glanced around. This was his room and it like the clothing had been done to his specifications. He had insisted upon one small lamp to the side, no other lighting, as well as a comfortable chair. A bed was minor but he had one. His clothing hung neatly in the large closet. All that mattered was that everything had a place and it was put into that place neatly. He did not like things messy and wrinkled. He had even told Hugo as much when mentioning the man’s clothing. Hugo could do better.
The one bright spot in the room was the shelf on the wall. There was a brightly colored violet, blue, and green glass vase in the center of the shelf. The colors swirled through it and Oblivion was fascinated by it. For hours on end, he would hold it and study the swirls that danced in the glass. He wanted to do something like that. But he had not admitted it to Hugo yet. His eyes narrowed slightly in annoyance. At some point he would have to ask. A little petulance slid through him. First he had to figure out how to manipulate the man into doing as he wanted and make him think it was his idea. It would be easier that way.
The living room was full of other glass pieces. Hugo had been going to the bazaar quite often taking a few lessons from the glassblowers. The man was a sweaty mess each time but he seemed to enjoy it. Obli moved to the side of the room, staring at the glass again. He enjoyed it also because he got to see the glass they made, but still, he needed Hugo to think it was his idea.
Oblivion suddenly frowned when he heard the noise nearby. Was that coming from his closet? His eyes narrowed again, glowing slightly. If there was something in there, then it was going to find itself in trouble. Moving quickly, he jerked the door open.
Hugo was reading his book when he heard the sound of something moving around in the kitchen. When had the fiend come out of his room? The man shook his head. Obli was probably up to no good. He never thought that the sound might not be his fiend. When it continued, he said, "Obli, what are you doing in there? It's distracting. Go back to your room." There was no reply, but the sound continued.

#4 means the previous roll repeats.
Oblivion opened the door to his closet. His clothing hung in nice neat rows and nothing looked out of place. Then he saw the movement of a jacket sleeve. His eyes narrowed as he moved forward to inspect the motion. At first he saw nothing in the darkness, but the jacket continued to move. There was a dim light in the closet and he pulled the string.
Raising an eyebrow, he watched the creature as it climbed higher up the garment. Soon it was sitting on the collar and shoulder balanced by the hanger it had a hand around. *Hugo, there is something in my closet.*
Hugo had gotten to his feet and reached the kitchen door when he heard Oblivion. He was in his bedroom. So what was in the kitchen? Was there a mouse into something? He shoved the door open knowing he would have to figure it out one way or another. At first he did not see it, but then he saw the dark creature on the edge of the sink. What was that? Was this something to do with Oblivion? Although the fiend had not seemed surprised or even upset, he had warned him something was around.
But what was this thing?

The creature gibbered at him and Oblivion watched in amusement as it balanced and waved its free hand. It seemed to be wanting to tell him something.
Oblivion shook his head as he moved a little closer to the creature, his eyes glowed softly as he watched closely. It seemed harmless, but he reached out finger to touch it. It seemed solid enough too. He decided it was a good thing that he had insisted on the heavier wooden hangers for his clothes. Otherwise he imagined the icky metal hangers would be bending under the creature's weight by now. It was smaller than a cat but still too big to be hanging at it was.
*Get down from there.* he ordered, eyes narrowed at it. He did not want his clothing on the floor or the hangers broken after he had worked so hard on them all morning.
"There is something in here too. Black with glowy white eyes?* Hugo asked as he watched the creature on the sink. It just gibbered at him. What did it want?
*Yes, not sure what it is, but that is what is in here, Hugo* Oblivion replied. *I think they want something.*
"Well, whatever it is, they are not going to get it," the man stated. He just had the feeling that to give them whatever they wanted would be bad.

The imp watched Oblivion a moment, then continued to chitter away. The next moment it seemed to laugh wickedly before wrapping its toes around the hanger. Reaching down with its hands, it grabbed hold of the collar and pulled after digging its fingernails in.
Oblivion blinked as he heard the sound of ripping and the collar was pulled off the jacket. That immediately made him angry, but he was furious when he saw the creature pop the collar into its mouth and begin chewing. That was all it took. Obli had not even worn that jacket yet and now he would be unable to because of this creature. He pulled his hand back, but hit the hanger as the imp jumped to another spot in the clothing.
*It ate part of my jacket, Hugo! Get in here and help me!” Oblivion demanded imperiously. This creature needed to be stopped.
Hugo folded his arms. “I don’t know what you are,” he began when the creature picked up a glass plate from the drainer in the sink. Hugo’s supper dishes had been washed and left to air dry. The plate hit the floor the next moment and the man moved. “You can’t do that!” he growled, reaching for the imp. Suddenly a cup from the drainer came directly at Hugo’s head. His eyes went wide as he barely managed to dodge the flying ceramic. Hearing Oblivion’s call for help, he growled, “I can’t, Obli. This thing is breaking the dishes.”

The imp gleefully reached down to the buttons on the front of the vest he was hanging onto. He plucked one off and tossed it into his mouth, swallowing with glee. Then it ripped a second button off and put it into its mouth also. It gibbered at Oblivion again.
He swung around, his tail twitching as the creature pulled two buttons from the vest. His eyes narrowed as he picked up an empty hanger from the rack. Swinging it as hard as he could, he tried to hit the imp. If nothing else, it would do some damage to it. Wound it. Hurt it. Something.
*Hugo! It’s eating my clothes! Buttons and all!* he snarled at his guardian who was apparently still dawdling in the other room. *Get in here and help me! This is far more important than those stupid dishes are!” He was furious at this creature and if he ever caught it, it was going to pay and pay dearly.
“I have problems of my own, Oblivion!” Hugo yelled back. The cup shattered behind him as the imp jumped to a cupboard door on the other side. It began swinging back and forth while gibbering at Hugo gleefully. The hinges suddenly gave way and the imp began to fall. Jumping to the cabinet itself as the door hit the floor, the imp began to slide, grabbing the dishes as it tried to hang on. Dish after dish slid forward one after the other, dropping down and shattering like a group of fireworks on the floor. Hugo winced. This was ridiculous and he grabbed for the largest knife in the wooden block behind him. One way or another this thing would stop.

*Forget the dishes!* he snarled as he turned to reach for the creature again. He was not afraid of the stupid thing, but he was angry about the jacket. As it popped the buttons into its mouth, Oblivion lunged forward and nearly had it, but it slipped just out of his reach and to the bottom shelf where the bags were. Its jaws opened wide and it bit down on the bag before it. *Stop that! You cannot eat things like that!* Oblivion growled, bending down to grab the bag from it. The front half was gone. His eyes narrowed and he began hit it with the heel of the bag hearing this sick thud. The imp flinched, began talking in gibberish again and leaped over Oblivion to the very top shelf where a couple boxes were neatly stacked. One by one he began throwing them at the fiend’s head.
Hugo winced as the door came off, but when the plates began sliding out one by one, he dove forward trying to catch them. Getting the idea that it was a game, the creature laughed maniacally and began tossing more with one hand as he held onto the shelf. Cup after cup and plate after plate made its way towards Hugo as he tried to catch them. Managing to hang onto two he place them carefully on the counter only to have the creature disappear inside cabinet after eating half the final cup.
“I said stop that this instant!” Hugo growled as he moved over the shattered pieces of dinnerware to the cabinet itself. “Come out here!”

The boxes came down one after one aimed at his head. Obli’s tail twitched more and more. If it had a rattle on the end, it would have shattered from being shaken so hard. Oblivion was livid as he moved toward the shelf with the imp on it. Picking up the shorter rod that had remained unused when they fixed the closet, the fiend moved to stand just below the creature. It soon ran out of boxes and Obli saw his chance. He swung the rod as hard as he could, hitting the creature directly in the middle. Then he hit it a few more times for good measure.
*That’s what you get* he smirked staring at the mess the creature now was. It was then he noticed that something was happening. He had smushed the creature into to pieces thinking that it would die. Instead each half was reforming, but into another creature. In a moment he had two creatures jabbering at him. Somehow this had gone from bad to worse.
Hugo blinked as he stared at the broken dishes. The large knife in his hand stabbed back into shadowy corner of the ruined cabinet. Hacking as best as he could, the man cut it in half. “Gone finally,” he growled, stepping back. He had a mess to clean up. A bit of scratching was heard coming from the cabinet and he wondered if it was twitching and making a mess. It was then two of the creatures hopped out over his head and was hanging on the pan rack. They bother gibbered angrily and began to swing as hard as they could from it.
*Obli, don’t squish them. They multiply.* he warned.
*Too late, Hugo. They already have.*

Hugo winced as he now stared at two of the creatures. They were swinging on the pan wrack in the center of the room. "I know you can understand me, you little monsters. Get down now."
The creatures simply gibbered and pointed at him more. Then they began swinging harder. One took a bite out of the metal bars holding the entire thing up. One side let loose, a pan falling causing Hugo to jump backwards. The second one took a bite out of the other side and suddenly the entire end dropped down, banging on the counter. Pan after pan fell, ringing loudly on the floor. Hugo jumped backwards to keep from getting his feet hit.
Oblivion growled as one picked up a small box and shoved it into its mouth. It began munching and chewing showing its teeth in a smirk. *Stop that!* Obli snapped as he moved forward again with the closet rod he still had in his hand. Instead of stabbing or smashing them, he swept them and the boxes to the floor. One gibbered at him angrily jumping up and down as he stared at them, eyes narrowed. The second one pulled a scarf from the box on the floor. The next instant the fabric was shoved into its mouth and it smirked laughing wickedly.
*That’s it!* Oblivion growled at them, and began swinging. He would stop whatever these were.

Hugo stared, his hands covering his ears as the pans clanged and echoed on the floor. The creatures were still holding onto the bars that did still hold to the ceiling. As he watched each one began to shiver and shake. They kind of stretched and then his eyes went wide. Wincing he watched as each one became two. Now there were four of them.
"Crap! They split whether squished or not!" Hugo flinched as their weight caused the mounting brackets at the top begin to pull lose of the ceiling. He backed up.
Oblivion continued trying to stop them and maybe heard them into something. He had a trunk on the other side. Maybe that would hold them for awhile. At least until they could figure this out. He continued trying to push them back to where the trunk lay. He had been intending to put a few things in it, but now he needed it for something more. Suddenly they began to shake and stretch and wiggle in odd ways. Obli stopped, staring at them. He reached out to push one with the end, but suddenly there were two there and then the other split into two. A growl slid free.
*Hugo…. There are four of them now. They are multiplying… We need to stop this…. Quick.*

Before Hugo could do anything, those four split again. He now had eight of them swinging on the bars and it all came crashing down. The man jumped backwards to the doorway as the creatures scattered across the room. One began swinging on the door, another tipped over the trashcan and began eating whatever it could find. A third began by picking up a knife and taking a bite out of it. Hugo stared. This was so not good. What were these things?
Obli would have swung to try to get them into the trunk when they started shaking and stretching again. Instead, he hurried from the closet shutting the door as the creatures went from four to eight. He backed away after putting a chair up against the door quickly. Hopefully it would keep the things inside until they figured out what to do.
*Hugo, they did it again.*
“I know, Obli. They did in here too. The kitchen is a wreck…”

Hugo stared as the creatures began shaking and stretching again. Only this time there were eight of them to split. That would put sixteen of them out here. He backed up slowly to the living room, shaking his head. "Obli, how many are in your room?"
Oblivion growled as they started banging on the door, splintering it in a couple places. Peeking thru the hole when they ceased, the fiend tried to see how many there were. But he failed. Instead he tried to think how many times they had split and they were doing so again now.
*I think that if I count how many times they have already split, it would be eight, Hugo, but they are doing it again. What are these things? They have ruined my closet and wardrobe.* The irritation was obvious in his voice. It was also obvious he expected Hugo to do something about it.
"Oh my god..." Hugo said softly, turning pale. If they kept this up, soon there would be hundreds of them.

The creatures in front of Hugo began eating everything in sight. Cabinets had bites taken out. Dishes were tossed into mouths and crunched up. Knives, appliances, dishcloths, and even a bottle of soap was eaten. Hugo stared in silence as he watched them. How did he keep them from his books?
Oblivion was furious. He watched thru the openings in his closet door and they were eating his entire wardrobe. Most of those things Hugo had just bought for him. Thankfully he had his favorite jacket and vest on. What were they going to do?
*How many in there, Hugo?* he finally asked.
"16, Obli... and if you were right, there are 16 in there... that's 32 of the little monsters we need to figure a way to get rid of..."
