He was shaking. Literally, ******** shaking as he stood by the portal. He’d need god knew how long, and more than that, he was not sure if he’d be able to do it. Dis kept telling him to treat it like a mission. He had a task, he had to get it done. In a way he was right, Marcus COULD do this. It was only the most important thing he’d ever done in his life. Being a hunter? No big deal. Survive the end of the world? Not bad. Buy a right so you could formally ask the girl you loved to marry you? SHUT. DOWN. EVERYTHING. He couldn’t do it alone. Well, he could try, but even Dis knew how well Marcus did on his own when it came to his confidence and Cass. Grabbing in the dark, the man had about as much sense as a lemming. He needed someone to help him and the vampire went with what he though, would be the perfect support.
Dakota.
Marcus had dialed the hunter so fast, begging him to go with him to the city because he needed to get something for Cass and he wasn’t sure he was being stupid or impulsive or ******** he just needed someone with him so he didn’t just ******** everything up. He had to buy a ring. He had to find a place to get married at as well, (One hunter had given him the name of a church in France. They did ceremonies, and didn’t ask questions and from what the hunter said, it was damn nice and affordable).
Still, as he waited by the portal, his hand were shaking. Since when was buying a ring harder than fighting demons and s**t?

Dakota was having all sorts of feels at the moment.
Not really like...Panic feels like Marcus. Not sad ones...not mad ones. He just had FEELS. He remembered briefly talking to a very flustered...yes flustered Marcus about something for Cass...A wing? Was Cass hungry and she needed some kinda of food? A CHICKEN WING?
Or was it Ring?
Ring probably made more sense. Slipping up to his fellow moon hunter, he blinked. Rocking back and forth on the heel of his feet, hands tucked into the worn jeans he wore before....
"So Marcus, How does hunting for a ring really make you feel?" Dakota quipped. He was grinning now because...the FEELS but...."So is this like ring panic attack symbolic of something?" He whistled innocently now. Still unsure why Marcus was wanting Dakota for the Ring shopping but....
Dakota grinned. With Chama's help. HE GOT THIS.
HE GOT THIS WITH YOU MARCUS.

Sadly, for Dakota, Marcus's feels were all sorts of jumbled. Anxiety, hope, longing, panic, love, angst. There was some angst in there too. As Dakota appeared, Marcus gave him a wide eyed look before grabbing his wrist and promptly dragging him through the portal. Behind a jewelry store. "It makes me feel like I've been shot in the ******** gut and blinded while the girl I love is waiting for me across an ocean of hellfire and all I have to get there is a shitty wooden rowboat." He took a breath trying to calm down. "THAT is how I feel."
Looking at Dakota, glaring really, "As for symbolism it's symbolic of ******** you, help me buy Cass a right because I really don't want to ******** this up Dakota." He shuddered, trying to take deep breaths again. "I really, really, don't want to ******** this up okay? She..I want to marry her okay? I just. ******** I've never... I never thought. ******** Dakota I am freaking out just.. help me okay?"
Dis was in the back of his head, humming and it was slightly helping. No lewd commentary after all.

Wow could Marcus look anymore like a Deer in the headlights? He didn't even have time to take a breathe for a comment when he was pulled through the - What is with people and pulling him through okay. - and right into the back alley of a jewelry stop.
Convient. Looking down, he stared at the hand still holding his before looking up like....dude its okay, I can be mental support. please let go of hand.
"That's morbid and a little depressing Bro." Dakota slapped the hunter on the back and laughed. "Well, saddle up your little rowboat and haul a** cause were going in..."
He waved his hand.
"If you keep talking dirty to me, I am going to think you want me along so I can be the third in this little love thing you got going on." Dakota blinked before sobering, "In all seriousness dude, Cass will love anything you pick for her. If she didn't, then she wasn't worth your time. Love is better then a fancy ring." He paused, "But I can see that your really serious here so...here we go..."
He pushed the Hunter into the shop and smiled. "Okay engagement ring. EN...GAGE....MENT....RIIIIIIIIING~" He hovered over some of the cases looking at them thoughtfully.
"Where you going to have the wedding bro?"

Marcus was very much deer in headlights as Dakota properly announced just what he was coming into the store for. "Dakota please..." Marcus getting into a bit. This was a task, just like a mission. Find the ring. Rings, technically. The man behind the case smiled like a shark and Marcus felt like he was going off the deep end. A shark's smile with a grown, older man's disdain. The look of disdain prompted a surge of anger.
He was a goddamn hunter, 20, and he wanted to get married, so go ******** yourself sir. You and your look like I don't belong in a jewelry store shopping for wedding rings and s**t.
Turning, he went back to Dakota, wincing at the more flashy rings. That was..nice. But not Cass. More then that, it was just.. tacky. "Not sure yet. There is.. a place in France I got told to check out. And no, I won't be taking Cass to Vegas." Another look at the rings and he circled around Dakota, the man with the shark's grin, 'Clark' hovering. "You need help with anything?" Marcus nodded. "Can I see that one please?" The man brought not just the ring, but the whole ******** stand.
Seriously.
The ********.

Dakota was barely paying attention to the pompous jeweler on the other side of the counter. Hell, He barely even saw the dude there except for when he came over to hover Marcus. Putting himself between the jewels to your balls guy and Marcus, he gave the other Moon hunter a encouraging smile and shrugged.
"I'm thinking your going to actually want to go simple yeah? Not to guady?" Dakota ran his hand over the more extragavant rings that he was placed at and knocked them down...much to Chama's disdain.
Dakota blinked as the guy continued to follow them before raising an eyebrow.
"So do they pay you top dollar to check out the dudes while they shop? Back off bro and give MY BRO some space okay. We need something-" Dakota rolled his eyes as the whole stand was pulled out before dismissing the Clerk.
"Which one did you like?" Dakot a pulled out a simple gold band, small engraving designs he couldn't make out circled the band as the clerk went into a tirade of what the ring meant, how much it was, sterling gold or whatever s**t.
"There is a lot of shinies here Marcus." Was Dakota's voice melting into a child like voice?
He had one ring...one ring to rule them all, one ring that emitted power.
He was the LORD OF THE RINGS.

Dakota would hear a very familiar phrase. "Dakota, no." They were not stealing a goddamn ring. As tempting as that was, they were not going to steal a ring. They were not going to steal Cass's wedding ring because not only would it haunt him, he was pretty sure there would be divine justice for that.
He did want simple, hell, he technically had two rings to buy. Engagement, and Wedding. One would be simple, the other, a little more. He knew what the wedding ring would be. That was..simple as it got really. It was the engagement ring that had him in bind.
"I want something fairly simple, that can be worn under gloves and you know, not liable to break." He was speaking more to Dakota than to the man who tried to assure him that rings didn't simply break and if a stone fell out it could be fixed. Marcus gave the man a flat 'b***h you don't know me, you don't know my life'. Looking at the ring Dakota picked out though, he began to look at the simple ones. Pulling out the very simple, thin band of white gold. "If you're worried about price-" "Not price." Marcus spun the ring in his fingers. Dis was weighing in. She's knows you and what you're like, and more then that, she loves you. You could carve a ring out of a plank of wood and she'd love it. He had a point. "What do you think Dakota? I could get it engraved. A simple band wouldn't snag and gather much attention unlike.." He cast his glance over to the one that looked like someone had barfed diamonds.

Dakota didn't hear that phrase...or that word.
What was N....o. NO. What was this foreign word that Dakota did not compute with? It made him set the ring down and stare at Marcus with puppy eyes like.
Wry so cruel!?!?
Blinking though, he eyed the white cold band. "Sounds legit to me, considering that she'll be in more fights then we know, don't want her to lose it or have it hinder her." He grinned, his hands resting behind his head. "I like the idea of a simple band. No stones, Engraving is cool. Maybe on the inside of the ring instead of the outside.
"Though, you sure you don't want this beaut of a - Dude, I am looking for my friend can you stop hovering." The clerk sputtered before stepping away and Dakota pointed out a shiny...multicolored ring. Jewels encrusted in the band instead of setting on top of it.
"I kid bro, Don't think she want's to walk around with the parrot attract of rings." He looked sadly at the one ring. THE ONE RING TO RULE THEM ALL.
"Let's get you simple band then....."

No means no Dakota and touching was bad in the no-no places.
Setting the ring down, the man came back asking about engraving, Marcus just said to wait, as he had to look for another ring. The man raised a brow, but didn't say anything. The simple ring was for the wedding, engagement was supposed to be flashy but... same issue. The engagement rings they had were... flashy. And flashy. And really nothing suitable.
The store was massive for what it was, the pair having to go upstairs before Marcus paused, looking at simple diamond bands for more than five seconds. "Dakota." He was still staring at the bands, the man having followed them from below. "Thanks for coming with me. I just-" he sighed, "-I get nervous about this s**t. It's Cass. And... Marriage."
He shook his head. "I just... I never would have thought I would have wanted this."

Dakota was still looking at the shiny ring.
Just...so damn shiny.
He followed sulkly upstairs as they came to diamond bands before resting on Marcus, his arm coming around his shoulder.
"That's what friends do." Dakota shrugged, "It's what Moon bro's do. Its what hunters do." Dakota breathed in before adding, "Beside Marcus. This is something to be nervous about....Your getting married." The teen made a face like....
neutral
"Your getting married...." Dakota breathed in before grinning, "We should have a bachelor party....." Dakota nodded like that was the best idea ever.
"Cass loves you. You love Cass." Dakota hummed patiently, "Marriage is just the next step in love. You guys are good together. You care." He blinked before sighing, "We don't have much to look forward being hunters....this is something....we shouldn't have but will." Dakota grinned before shrugging.
"How you feel about this one?" Dakota pointed in the case.

While Dakota was overly excitable and sometimes just...so opposite of Marcus, the moon trainee was still glad of his presence. Dakota might not know the gauntlet of emotions Marcus was facing, but he was certainly glad for the support. Frayed nerves were not going to help him.
"If you want to plan it Dakota, be my guest I-....s**t. I uh." He felt like an idiot. "I forgot. I need... um... You want to be my Best man Dakota?" Marcus wasn't sure how the whole best man and things were, but he had the rest of the day to figure it out. He knew the best man helped with the bachelor party and was by his bro's side. Weddings were hard.
"I mean, you don't have to if you don't want just uh, an offer." He went back to looking at the rings, the man behind the counter giving them 'you both are a waste of air' looks.

"I got this, We'll get the moonbro's...some of the suns...Gale..." Dakota sounded really excited at the time and all he could think was....Vegas. Marcus would want to go to Vegas wouldn't he? They just needed some fake id's, not hard and they could party like....not a married man before he did get married.
With that thought in his mind, he almost missed Marcus's question before breaking out into a huge dopey smile.
"Awh, sure man. I'll be your best man." Dakota pulled Marcus into the biggest bro hug he could manage. Bromance's = all the hugs.
"Alright, Let's get this started then. I'll make sure last night as a single man is the best night." He started thinking of all to invite and just decided that all the men should come. Just...all of them. More people = more fun?

Marcus would give Dakota Vegas. Not like he'd been and...what was the worse that could happen?
A line of thought he would later regret.
Still, knowing Dakota would be okay being best man... was nice. As goofy as he was, he was a guy Marcus trusted. Trusted very well. Somewhat shockingly really but- He makes you remember how easy it is to care about people. People who aren't the love of your life. That type of thing. Really, am I here to help you fight or go through emotional hurdles? Both. Probably my masochistic survivalist.
Looking at the rings, he pointed at one small set in particular, the man bringing it out in a fluid motion. White gold, a simple ring of diamonds. White gold appealed to him, but would it appeal to Cass? He bit his lip. Pulling one of the rack he frowned, putting it back. The gaps were wide and just... last thing he needed was a stone to fall out. Scooting Dakota over he went back around the cases. "Dakota, is it... Do you think she.. I mean she only brought it up on the mission and right after. You think it was just..spur of the moment?"
