Arranged marriages not only happen on Earth, but they also happen on distant planets. This is the story of two of those planets and their royalty. No one knows how this arranged marriage will go, but it's the only way to bond the planets together. Sometimes happiness needs to be sacrificed in order to secure safety...or does it?

Katherine was sitting in the dining room, trying to collect her thoughts. She had just been informed that she was going to be married soon. It was strange to think that she would be marrying someone she had never met. However, that's something that happened to royalty. It wasn't something she liked, but it helped others.
She headed outside to get some fresh air, trying to relax a bit. She was going to be meeting her fiance soon, and it really scared her. Katherine sat down and closed her eyes, wondering what he would be like. Would he be kind or would he be a jerk? After a moment she stood up and started to walk around the building. This whole thing was insane.

███ ❤₀1 ███████Luka was taking a nap in his room before one of his personal guards woke him. "Master, Luka, your father would like a word with you." the guard said, watching as Luka sat up rubbing his head. "Now? Of all times, now? Fine, leave me." Luka scowled, pissed about being woke from his slumber. Sighing Luka, threw the covers from over him, and stood to his feet, stretching out his body. Looking around the room, Luka grabbed his shirt, threw it on and left the room to meet his father. His father was waiting outside for him and wanted him to take a walk through the royal garden so they could talk.
"What is it, father?" Luka asked, pondering over what could possibly be so important for him to be woken from his sleep. "Son, I've arranged a marriage for you." he said, placing both hands behind his back. "The princess of Carmody is waiting on her home planet to meet you." he then added, glancing at his son. Luka stopped dead in his tracks. 'An arranged marriage? You've got to be joking.' he thought to himself, rather displeased with the outcome of the conversation. "Father, I don't want to marry right now. I haven't even met the girl. How can I marry someone I don't know or love?" he asked, turning to face his father.
"Sometimes, you have to sacrifice certain things to help a family, or a whole planet prosper." the king said, sighing lightly. "Father, I understand that, but why now? Of all times, why now? Why couldn't I have any say in this?" Luka asked, growing angry with where the conversation was heading. "There's no getting out of this. You leave in a hour to meet her. So I'd advise you to get ready to meet your bride." his father said sternly, turning and walking away. Luka sighed before turning back towards his room. Walking out of the garden, he went back into his room and put on a purple shirt, a tux jacket, a black tie, and black pants. Possibly the best thing he had in his closet.
An hour had passed and it was time for him to leave. Luka headed for the ship that would be taking him to meet his new bride, and pondered over the situation. 'Why? Why do I have to marry someone I don't know?' Luka thought to himself, boarding the ship and finding a seat. The doors to the ship closed, and set course for Carmody. About half an hour later they arrived. Once the ship had landed, Luka stood to his feet, and heading towards the door. As the door slowly opened, Luka stood with one hand in his pocket, and used the other to rub his head.

Katherine was rushed inside suddenly and was given a black dress to put on. It fit her perfectly, which most girls would like. However, Katherine enjoyed being in things that were baggy. Comfort was much more important to her. Her hair was put into curls and then she was rushed back downstairs. When she got there she noticed a bunch of maids pointing out the window and speaking loudly. What was going on?
The princess headed to the window and the maids moved aside. When Katherine looked outside she saw the ship and...was that him? She sighed lightly and shook her head, very worried about this whole thing.
Katherine was once again rushed, but this time to the doors. They opened and she looked down at the man she would soon be marrying. She slowly started down the stairs, her heart beating rapidly. How could she do this? This man was a complete stranger. Her eyes looked up at him, and she wished she had put on some heels. Her people were a bit short, and that was sometimes a draw back.That didn't matter though...No, what did was getting to know this man as well as she could. He was going to be her husband after all.

███ ❤₀1 ███████Luka still remained standing at the door of the ship, unsure of what to expect within the next few hours. All he knew was that he didn't want to be here, he wanted to go back home and go back to sleep. He knew this had to be done in order to help his home planet. "What has my father gotten me into this time?" he mumbled under his breath. Sighing, Luka took a few more steps forward. The door to the palace opened and Luka's eyes moved up towards the door. Seeing a young lady, quite beautiful, walk hesitantly down the steps, Luka grinned slightly.
She was cute, he wouldn't lie, but still. He didn't even know the girl. How could he fall in love with someone he had never met in his life. Luka's eyes met the girls and something clicked. Unsure of what it was, Luka took the few last steps down to the female. Luka was quite a bit taller than the girl. Looking down into her eyes, Luka took her hand in his own and pulled it up to his lips. Kissing it gently, Luka slightly bowed his head. "Milady, it's a pleasure to meet you." He then said, a gentle smile gracing his lips.

Katherine stopped walking when she noticed him taking the last steps to her. She blushed when he kissed her hand, and she spoke quietly. "Like wise. I was told lunch would be ready soon and that we're expected in the dining hall at that time." She stopped talking and looked down, trying to think of something else to say.
Her eyes went to the side of the castle and then back to him. "Would you like to go for a walk until then?" Right now she really wanted to get out of the view of the maids. They were still all around the window, talking about the prince. "They'll let us know when everything is set so...Why spend time just standing here? Especially when we're being watched." She looked up at the castle windows and saw the maids all hide. Katherine sighed and looked back to him, hoping he'd say yes.
This wasn't so bad after all. Not yet. Hopefully things would stay this nice. Maybe they would be able to at least have a pleasant marriage. Sure, it would be nice to fall in love, but who said that would happen? Not all royal couples that picked their marriages were in love, and that didn't give Katherine much hope.
