Tymiko the Pirate Girl

PostPosted: Sat Feb 25, 2006 12:09 pm

Tymiko wandered about the streets of Durem, feeling hopelessly lost. She had discovered a relic recently, a beautiful thing with such an odd aura...

With help from others, she had been directed to find a museum of some sort, but had somehow gotten herself confused. She had been told there were others with relics and who could tell her more about them, but she hadn't the slightest idea where the museum might be.

Sitting on the side of the road, she sighed heavily, then gazed at the relic resting in her hands. "What am I going to do now?" she asked it softly.

Suddenly something green rushed past Tymiko and laughter was actually approaching.

"Wait for me, Gaspar !" Carlos called out as the violet winged boy tried to follow his brother.

Of course they had intended to stay with Lena this time, but actually there had been a flyer, which had destroyed the peace. It had been one of these shiny ones on which you have to rub until you see if you've won something.

"Wiiiin !" The fuzzy green one stopped and Carlos literally bumped into him.

"Sorry, sorry, are you hurt ?"
"It's my flyer, get it for me."

Finally they both stared at Tymiko, who was just about a meter away from them. Carlos smiled whereas Gaspar started to growl.

The girl jumped with a start, turning her head sharply toward the source of the laughter. She was even more shocked to see the two boys, with their colored skin, feathered wings, and long, whispy tails. The green one even had a pair of horns.

She smiled a little at their conversation, wondering if they were somehow related. When they noticed her, she flushed, embarrassed, and hoped they had not caught her staaring at them.

"Um...excuse me," Tymiko said in a timid voice. "Uh...would either of you happen to know if there's a museum around here? I...I think I found a relic of some kind, and someone directed me here. I think I must've gotten myself lost, though."

She held out the black and white relic in her hand. "This is what I found, but I'm not exactly sure what it is."

Tymiko wondered if she should have showed it to them; after all, they were only boys. More likely they could have cared less.

Of course the boys had noticed the girl's looks and Gaspar was about to make a nasty comment about girls stealing flyers as Tymiko started to talk.

"Hello. I'm Carlos, that's Gaspar. Nice to meet you." The blonde Thule smiled and flapped his wings before moving closer towards the girl. "We know where the museum is. Do you want to play Indiana Jones ?"

Gaspar growled, but his eyes started to shine as the saw the relic. "Ooo it's ours !"

Carlos blinked quite surprised and shook his head, but the greedy one seemed to be quite fascinated by this piece. "Can I have it ? GIVE IT TO ME !"

"We can show you the way to the museum." Carlos didn't seem to care about Gaspar's anger and stayed calm.

"You do?" she asked hopefully. "I would really appreciate it if you could show me...um...sure, why not? But you'll have to show me how to play..."

Tymiko looked up at Gaspar's growl, wondering if she had upset him, and suddenly noticed the funny look in his eyes. "Is it really? What did you want with it?" She blinked and glanced down at the relic. "Um...perhaps I should find out what it is first, don't you think? Unless one of you two can tell me?" she said, smiling craftily. "My name is Tymiko, by the way."

The blonde Thule just nodded and smiled at the woman friendly. "Indiana Jones brings lost pieces back to museums."

Whereas Carlos was still trying to be friendly and helpful, Gaspar had been infected by the relic's awesomeness. "It's our friend !" He hissed and tried to grab the jewelry. "It's like...me and Gaspar." The boy had seen pictures of them how they looked like before. Lena had told them about it. Besides he sensed that this one was different.

"Nice to meet you, Tymiko. The museum is down the street. You went almost the right way."

((Oh, by the way, just so you can get a good mental image, Tymiko is a girl who looks about 12 or 13 and wears pirate clothes. She's pretty odd. ^^; But so's her story.))

"I see. Sounds fun! We can make it an adventure!" Tymiko smiled. "I'm all set...and it seems we have the missing relic!" She held it up triumphantly.

Tilting her head, the girl turned to Gaspar with inquisitve aqua blueUser Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. eyes. "Like...you?" She repeated, suddenly uneasy. "Uh...maybe I should just keep this for now, then...we wouldn't want them injured before we got them to the museum, now would we?" Tymiko was mildly shocked the piece had something to do with the two boys. It seemed similar...something of the story of Yin and Yang...still, how could this unified object turn into two living, breathing children like them? She wouldn't know the first thing about teaching them about the world.

Suddenly, a thought occured to her. "And a pleasure to meet you both as well. Thanks for helping me...only...I don't believe I've caught your names...and I have one other question...if you were both like this once," she pointed to the relic, looking at each of them in turn. "Would you have a sort of...gaurdian or parent that raised you?"

Carlos was about to run towards the museum as he heard the girl's words and wanted to grab her wrist as she turned to Gaspar. Patiently he waited for his brother to answer.

The green Thule's tail was lashing furiously. How could a person be so stupid ? Why should it be save with her ? Still, she probably was alright because of her clothes. She was a pirate girl, but HE was the best pirate all around. "Yes, like we. We HAD guardians." The boy snorted and kicked a pebble aside.

"But Lena still is our guardian." Carlos started and then suddenly started to grin sheepishly. "I'm Carlos and that's Gaspar. Our guardian is at the museum for sure, she's always looking for us there."

Gaspar crossed his arms. "All I say, it's like us."

Carlos shrugged. "You should come to the museum. Perhaps Lena is there, perhaps she can explain it you to. We have pictures of this at home."

"Is she really? Well, then we better not keep her waiting...I'd love to learn more about you guys...Carlos and Gaspar. You'll never know how grateful I am to have met you both."

Glancing across the road at the museum, Tymiko wondered why in the world she hadn't noticed it before. It was so obvious, right there in front of her the whole time. How could she have not seen it?

Looking back at the two boys, she smiled, and waited to cross the street with them; the relic clutched tightly in her hand, since she had no pockets. She was a little nervous about the way Gaspar kept looking at it.

Wondering again what would become of the relic, she decided she could ask the two boys guardian when they met her. Lena, she thought. I'll have to make a note of that...

Indeed Lena had been looking for the boys again. It wasn't the first time they had decided to go for a walk without letting anyone know about it. Impatiently the mother wandered from side to side inside the museum and watched the entry with care.

Carlos opened the door for Tymiko and smiled happily whereas Gaspar stood behind her to be sure that she'd bring the relic with her. He needed it and somehow he would get it. The plot making was only disturbed by a cough.

"Carlos ! Gaspar ! I was looking for - o hello." Lena noticed the girl and her frown turned into a smile. "What leads you here ?"

"Why thank you, Carlos," Tymiko said quietly, stepping in, feeling uncertain as she entered the huge building. It made her feel uncomfortable, like she didn't belong; but then, that wasn't an unfamiliar feeling itself.

The girl watched a lady, supposedly Lena, by the motherly, upset look she cast at the boys, and returned the smile she recieved. "Hello," she said, bowing slightly. She wasn't sure what was considered good manners here, but thought it couldn't hurt. "I'm sorry, but I was lost in the streets outside and Carlos and Gaspar here helped me find this museum. If it wasn't for them, I don't know if I'd ever have made it here. I've been looking all day."

"Pleasure to meet you. I...I found this relic and some of the people I asked told me to come to this museum." She carefully held out the black and white object.

Carlos smiled happily as Tymiko thanked him and was about to mumble a 'You're welcome' as he recognised Lena.

"Hey Lena, we already thought you were here." The mother just sighed and shook her head, but listened to the girl's words. "It's alright. I'm just easily worried, because they run off quite often." Frowning slightly she continued while her eyes focused on the small object.

"I've never seen one of these in reality, just on pictures." The woman mumbled and stepped closer. "But indeed it must be one of these..."

"It's OURS !" Gaspar hissed but only earned a missguided look from his mother.

"In fact this one looks similar to the one Gaspar and Carlos came from. I wasn't there when they emerged, but I think I've got a picture in my purse." Quickly the mother started to look through her things whereas Gaspar eyed the relic. He wanted it.

"Really? So...you've never seen a relic like this before?" This struck the girl as odd, glancing at Gaspar and Carlos, her eyes distant, lost in thought. Had they emerged by themselves? Or was someone still needed to take care of the relic before life revealed itself?

Glancing back at the two figures entwined around each other, she realized they weren't as similar to the two boys as they looked. Though one had feathered wings like they did, the other darker one sported fins. What did it all mean?

"Are there...others like Gaspar and Carlos?" Tymiko asked meekly while Lena searched through her possessions. She felt Gaspar's gaze on the relic, making her feel uncomfortable. Why did he want it so badly? A lot of good it would do him; especially if it changed into live beings. Carlos didn't seem nearly as interested in it. They were like...opposites.

That was it! The black and white figures reminded her of Yin and Yang! Opposites! That's what the relics must have symbolized...only they were different somehow. Carlos's and Gaspar's probably had more to do with personality than appearence, as their only difference besides hair style, and colors were Gaspar's horns, but the girl was now certain she was on to something.

Feeling triumphant, she smiled mischeviously back at Gaspar. I bet I can guess your secret, she thought. It'll be fun...like a game. Something to do with wanting possesions, I'm sure.

Lena pushed her lipstick aside and finally managed to find a picture of the old relic. She handed it to Tymiko and shook her head off. "Actually not, I've only seen it on this picture. That's where they came from, I actually wasn't there when they emerged. Gaspar and Carlos were living with other people beforehand..."

Thinking that this might be reason for them running off ever so often Lena watched the twins. Before the mother was able to answer Carlos started to smile broadly. He had been listening to the conversation quite patiently. "We have friends. They don't look like us though. Nuria and Danica, Myze and Ceri and..."

As Gaspar heard the names he started to growl. "Ceri's MINE !" The blue Thule just smiled at the greedy one and nodded. "Sure.

His eyes were focused on the new female person. She was looking at him just as she wanted him as well. No way, he was his.

"Oh, I see. It must be hard, but by the looks of things, I'm sure you're doing a wonderful job of it!" the girl told Lena cheerfully. "I'm not sure I'd be so capable..."

Tymiko listened curiously as Carlos recited the names of their friends. Strangely enough, she noticed he recited them in pairs, though she had to make a huge effort to keep herself from laughing when Gaspar claimed the one called 'Ceri' as his.

As Gaspar caught her meaningful look, his mood seemed to darken a little, and she figured he had taken her meaning the wrong way. Instead of trying to explain herself, she simply said to him, "So you're all opposites, are you? I can't believe I didn't see it before. I bet I know which you are, Gaspar...even your name has something to do with it, doesn't it? Greed? So that must mean Carlos is...hmm, what might that be? Generosity? Liberty, perhaps?"
