Post 239 Chael would walk into the second gym, calm as ever and hands in his pockets. He had a bored expression despite being slightly worried about Argos. But only the Rattata was out and on his shoulder. She sniffed around, smelling fire and steel. Probably dual purposes as a forge or some sort. In a clear voice, Chael said "I'm Chael Riverton and I challenge this gym." He would wait, trying to decide his team. If the gym was fire he had Argos. Yeah he might not listen but only an idiot wouldn't use Water type moves. If Steel, then he had his Zebstrika with Flame Charge. Post 239 Chael crossed his arms. Where was the Gym Leader? "Hello? Anybody home?" he asked, trying to figure out what to do now. He couldn't continue his journey now, his Pokemon were getting a tad too strong. What he needed was another badge and he was here to beat the gym. Fear, his Rattata, was his only Pokemon out. She looked around, trying to find any signs of movement. Her race was probably common among new trainers. But luckily for her, her trainer wanted to have her on his team for keeps. So no being a PC box filler for her! Then he didn't care if she evolved or not, which she didn't want to. She liked being small and fluffy. Riding on your trainer's shoulder was a plus as well she guessed. For Fear, it was a place of honor. Most people would have a rarer Pokemon on their shoulder. Like a Pikachu or Pachirisu. And so Chael would keep waiting. Not like last time, where he left after entering only to recieve a note. He still wondered how Dante had gotten that text. Had he just magically a gym leader on speed dial? Post 239 Ok, he had been standing here for quite a bit and all he had happened to him was be ignored. "How many Gym Leaders have left their posts? Not so good when you have a lot of incoming trainers." Chael asked Fear as he looked around. He kinda wanted to get the badge so he could continue training his Pokemon. But the question still remained. How many gym leaders were slacking on their jobs. First the Blyse one and now this? Chael was surprised Etrua even had a Pokemon League. Coming from a boy who aspired to be a Gym Leader, Chael was disappointed to be frank. He sighed, taking out his sticky pad and placing it on the door, only to write: Dear Gym Leader. I came in here to challenge but you were absent, just like the previous leader. When you return to your post, would you mind sending me a text? I'll be training my team until then. My PokeGear number is (***)****_***. ~ Chael Riverton. Then just as quickly, he walked out, merely shaking his head in disappointment with the leader for not being in duty, as was their job.

In her favorite sundress Jocelyn Culver sashayed into the gym, looking for where she left the book she was reading that morning. When she saw Chael on his way out she gasped with one dainty hand over her mouth but he didn't look dangerous. "Oh no are you here for a gym challenge?" Her eyes narrowed for a second and she muttered under her breath. "I'm going to kill Bennett." Then she brightened back up with a smile. "I'm ever so sorry for making you wait so long. My husband, the lovable lout, was supposed to be watching for challengers today." Jocelyn walked over to softly say hello before the match began and she offered her hand to Chael. "Let me introduce myself. I'm Jocelyn Culver of the Fort Ammoa gym. Here we don't believe only in training tough pokemon but helping trainers find their strengths too. Can I get you something to drink? Some lemonade? Ice tea? A bottle of water? The match is three versus three with no items allowed." 1. Coming back, Chael heard the same speech, answering "Yes please, I would like a water bottle." He would shake her hand, not knowing anything else to do when offered one. Jocylen said and she went over to the cooler to get a bottled water. She walked back over, delivered the water and released the three pokemon she was going to use out of their PokeBalls. She had a cute little Mawile, a feroucious Durant, and a floating Magnezone ready to battle. "As you might already know I use the Steel type and my husband uses the Fire type, but it is I who will be your opponent. I'll start with Mawile." Her pokemon got up front and center on the large official Pokemon League fighting arena. The ground was flat hard packed sandy soil, a few man-sized solid rocks peppered the area, and the harsh desert sun glinted in from the open ceiling windows. With a parasol for shade Jocelyn took her place in her rectangle and waited for Chael to choose his first pokemon and make the first move. 1. Jocelyn wasn't trying to be rude at all and Chael has only been polite so far. She smiled sweetly as the fire type ran at her Mawile. Looking adorable with her huge steel jaws still hidden behind her like a huge ponytail Mawile got bitten and cried out, the fire hurting. "Get it back with Tickle!" As funny as that sounded Mawile wasn't going so show that she was mad ... yet. She jumped at Daraumaka and tickled the red furry chicken nugget without mercy, laughing right along. 1. Post 244 Ok, attack and defense lowered now. But they had gotten a super effective move on it at least. Chael knew best not to be fooled by a Mawile's cute act. That was how they caught their prey, was it not? But the gym leader made one mistake: she got close to the fire type. "Fire Fang again!" Chael would call out. Darumaka's fangs were lit on fire once again as he tried to nom on the Mawile. Fire Fang did a little less damage this time because of Tickle but it still wasn't something Mawile could take much of. Jocelyn knew that Darumaka didn't have very good defenses so she almost expected to get close, if not totally knock out the jumping red jellybean with a single move. "Mawile now ViceGrip." The huge jaws swung around to clamp down tightly while Darumaka still had his fangs in her. 1. Post 245 What the leader didn't realize was that Tickle lowered your defense and stack by one stage. Yeah, it helped but she wasn't close to a one hit KO. Maybe a third of his HP gone, instead of a fourth? However she'd need to focus on her own Pokemon soon. So far the Mawile had taken a Fire Fang, and a slightly powered down one. Nonetheless, they were super effective. And the steel type was about to be hit with another fire move. "Ok, use your Incinerate attack! It's a special attack, not a physical one!" Chael commanded. The Fire type would shoot out a firey chain towards the female Mawile. OOC: lol really only like 1/4 or 1/3 of his health? Your pokemon must be a tank instead of a Darumaka jkjk. But don't tell me that I don't know anything. Chael can't read minds and I said Jocelyn ALMOST EXPECTED it would be a one hit KO. She didn't say that out loud and I don't like being belittled even if it's in character. Mawile just chomped down again harder with Vicegrip. Incinerate hurt but it was off of Darumaka's dismal special attack and still wasn't quite enough. Mawile was starting to show some serious battle damage but she was still kicking and fighting. She looked angry but still sweet if Chael could ignore the giant set of jaws chewing up the fire jellybean. Jocelyn was getting ready with her next pokemon but she knew Mawile had done her best, the little sweetheart. 1. Post 246 Ok, now one more hit would KO the hot tamale. Seriously, did people only think of Darumaka as food?! Well, they'd be able to throw one last hit before the, animal NOT food product, passed out. Then again they could switch Pokemon out. Of course it'd waste a turn, but he'd be able to use Darumaka later as a last resort. Yeah, he'd go with that. After a few long moments, he finally got it. Ok, time to set the plan in motion. "Since you didn't say we could switch out... Darumaka get back here. Lizzy, you're up." Chael said, as the Zebstrika took the stage, neighing once. Darumaka waddled back, on the brink of passing out. By he was holding on by a sliver. OOC: I'm sorry for getting snappy. I forgot that levels don't matter so I also thought that Darumaka was a lot weaker against Mawile. That's my bad. Mawile was hardly holding on herself by sliver, and then, it showed! She was burned, and the burn harmed her just enough to finish her off. Mawile was knocked out, falling over with those big jaws snapping. Jocelyn didn't want her cutie-pie to hurt herself anymore so ran onto the field to pick her up. Jocelyn had the advantage because she knew what pokemon that Chael was using next. And she felt sorry for Darumaka. He was so brave for a rolly-polly hot popper. "Next up is my Magnezone." She said quietly and she held Mawile in her arms. "I hope you're ready for this. It is my strongest gym pokemon." Magnezone buzzed and hovered out to take his place in the field. "Let's get this started with a Thunder Wave." Magnezone buzzed again and electricity pulsed out from it to try to paralyze the zebra.
