As with every night, Cricket sat in her office going over various notes and reading whatever new FEARhealing articles were out for her to look over. After all, breakthroughs were made all the time in the field. It was good to be kept brushed up and ready to work.
Not to say she was expecting she'd be doing much at that time of night. A nurse that didn't have to sleep was useful in their own ways, however.

It had happened rather quickly. Shun had been distracted by the fact that Demi had just dissipated after trying to sample the jerky. He hadn't had a chance to react to that much as he felt something sharp jab into his hand. It had killed him nearly instantly, so he was a little surprised to find himself in Cricket's office all of the sudden.
Something wasn't quite right though. He felt lethargic. Groggy even. Groaning, he glanced down at his hand, seeing that it was tinged green now.
"Kuso..." he hissed while placing his other hand onto his head. The drawer had been trapped. Or something like that.

Oh he couldn't wait to take that sweet, savory bite into the piece of meat. Instead Damien felt the blinding pain of feeling like a part of himself was nearly ripped off. It was not on his list of most pleasurable experiences ever. Still, after a moment of rest on the cot in Crickets office, he didn't feel like there was a part of him missing.
He looked down and wiggled his toes experimentally and waved his arms. "nope still here." he said softly before touching his torso and pawing at his back. as far as he could tell, there was no bits missing from there. It wasn't until he heard the groan of a nearby creature that made the pup lazily flick his head out from the side of the divider. Green eyes focused on the prone reaper staring at his now green hand. "Hey, we match now." he said cheerily as he flicked his ears around, the green tint matched his own markings.

This wasn't really a good sign. Whatever had killed him should have left his body upon dissipation. Right? Between the fact that he wasn't feeling well and the fact that it was causing his hand to turn green, something had persisted with him. Closing his good eye for a moment, he soon opened it as he heard Demi address him.
"That's not a good thing," he murmured.

"What do you mean?" demi asked openly and honestly, pulling back the curtain on his new clinic buddy, thankful to have company other than the nurses bugs skittering around. The parcel was still tucked close to his body. the smell of the jerky was still calling him for another bite.
but after what happened, it didn't seem like something he should do.
But it smelled so good, surely he could try one more bite. Nope. he had to tuck it away, the evil temptation that was Red's snacks. "Theres nothing wrong with green." he said strongly, puffing up at the declaration.
He figured shun was just jealous that his green was so much better than his own.

Shun frowned at Demi, staring as he thought that the coloration was completely harmless. The Reaper was fairly certain it was quite the opposite.
"Something bit me," he said lowly, "So in this case, yes something is wrong with green."
He hoped he didn't have to elaborate much more on that. Shuddering, he closed his eye again, not really wanting to sit up at the moment.

"Something bit.... you?" Demi rolled the idea around in his head. The green did seem perfectly fine to him, just a green hand, nothing to howl about.
"Maybe... its human rabies?" he said thoughtfully as he scratched his chin at the thought. "is there anything else thats green?"

"I was not bit by a human," Shun murmured before lazily looking at his hand. It was not supposed to be green. As a reaper, that was not a normal skin tone for him at all, "Whatever it was... it was venomous most likely."Looking away, he tried to see if he could spot where the nurse was. "Cricket?"

Demi's shoulder started to itch. It was a small itch that grew into a line, growing until it encircled part of him. Then there was another itch, and another, and another until it felt like his entire body had itchy, vertical lines. There was a sudden feeling of release, of a gentle breeze that soothed the irritation as the itches separated into thinly sliced layers that separated, piling up on the infirmary bed that Demi was on -- Or was it all in his head? The itching stopped, but... that couldn't have been real, right? Right?Shun's hand had changed. It wasn't just green anymore. The skin had hardened and began to crack. It hurt to flex it. His arm was starting to feel progressively stiffer as well.

Cricket found herself watching both of the students with a sort of interest as it seemed they'd been getting into.. quite the things based on the symptoms she was looking at. In fact, she hadn't treated anything like that in a long time.
But she could recall it well enough.
"Looks like the two of you have been getting into some things you shouldn't have."

Something was really not right and Shun could feel it. His hand and arm felt strange. Looking back at his hand, he noticed that it wasn't just green at this point now. It was starting to look almost scaley in a way with it was hardening and cracking. The Reaper closed his hand, or tried, feeling some pain course through his arm as he moved it. Aside from that, it was getting hard to move his arm as a whole.
Gritting his teeth, he shifted uncomfortably, pausing as he heard Cricket's voice.
"If you would consider stumbling upon an angry mini's nest that," he murmured, managing to come up with somewhat of a cover story.

"shun." Demi managed to steel his voice and give the reaper boil a hard stare. "Your not going to die right?" he managed to whisper out harshly. should he call the nurse he wondered. just pick up one of crickets glowbugs and scream at it to call for the nurse. Surely one must know where the call button was in the tiny clinic, or maybe even mentally page the ghoul.
however the itch that was slowly developing on the hounds body was taking more precedence as he began to scratch at his shoulder. and then his back.
Until it got to the point where he was rubbing up against the wall to relieve the annoying sense of discomfort. and wound up feeling just.
very odd, on the bedding. "What the heck was that?"
Thankfully whatever just happened, it made the nurse show up. and not trying to ingest them. Hopefully. "I just wanted some treats Nurse. why is that so bad?"

She didn't make a very readable expression - but Shun was likely used to such poker faces after too much time with a certain Horseman - simply steeping her fingers as Shun explained his run in with the nest of minipets.
"What kind of mini?" she inquired as Ginko* jumped up onto Shun's cot, rubbing in an overtly friendly manner on the reaper. Head scratches please?
As for treats, Cricket couldn't help but pass Damien a rather passive look as well. "What kind of treats and where were you looking into them?" They seemed like routine questions as to find out what exactly she was dealing with, rather than her being nosy as to why they were there.

The expression on Shun's face was pretty much just as readable, given how his expression didn't change all that often. Some people might say he was almost perpetually glaring. Granted, with the way he was feeling, there was something lazy about his look at the moment.
"I didn't get a chance to see. I felt something sharp stab into my hand and I was dead," he said. There was no lying there. Glancing over towards Demi, he shook his head.
"I'm not dying."
His gaze drifted over to the mini that jumped onto his cot, getting rather friendly with him. Watching the scareon for a moment, he let out a breath before lightly and somewhat lazily patting it on the head with his unaffected hand.

Demi tried not to pout when Nurse cricket gave him a lazy once over with her eyes. It didn't stop him from puffing his cheeks up and turning away like a petulant scareling. "Nothing, just a simple thing i found in the forest, seemed edible." he said casually and absentmindedly went to scratch at his ribcage.
"I think i'll stick to bacon, maybe i'll kick the stuff too, i dunno." the hound said sourly as he flopped disgracefully on the medic bedding, his face sticking out from the cocoon of sheets he was spinning around himself.
He was sure Shun was secretly dying inside. human rabies did seem like a serious condition.
