(( slightly backdated fyi ))
----------------------------------------- Ulmuka had been sulking. It was very out of the ordinary for him, but he hadn't been feeling quite himself lately. After the incidents with the horsemen and Insanity, he'd withdrawn and begun to feel strange... feelings that he wasn't accustomed to. Even his father had contacted him and asked him to come home since the young strix was due for his yearly break. He currently was perched in one of the larger trees on campus. it was right at the edge of the forest, on the fringes of a clearing. The branch on either side of him was lined with minipets. Corrividus, Orly, Churrpups, all gathered around him unusually. The strix felt more at peace when he didn't have to think about normal things. Just being a beast was best for him, hunting and flying and enjoying the air. The strix pulled apart some medium size creature he'd caught. The food was spread out, handed carefully along the lines of bird-minis as he shared his kill generously.

It had taken Kettil a while to summon up his familiar especially with the seemingly ceaseless voices that had gone through his head though once they lessened in what seemed to be in quantity and noise he could concentrate enough to call upon his familiar who was now very put out with him because she wasn't called out sooner than more recently.
To make it up to her, rather than just soothing her with words, he took her out for some flight.
Taking wing the owl familiar flew off leaving her Reaper behind for the time being. Feeling the wind as it brushed through her feathers was refreshing and improving her temperament quite a bit. It didn't take long until she noticed an odd figure surrounded by other avian-like figures sharing a meal. She moved to land nearby her head tilting just a little bit as if she was observing him.
This figure seemed familiar to her somehow.

Ulmuka carefully continued to pass out his meal. At some point in the chain a corrividus got riled, flapping and cawing at the Treat that had somehow decided that it wanted to also get some free food. The treat hissed and spat, paws clawing, and the Corrividus flapped and scratched. Suddenly both were stopped by a rumbling 'HOOOOOOO' and the intervention of a giant wing, the tip of which dipped in between and swept both of them from the branch while simultaneously not disturbing the birds around them. The squabbling minis fluttered back to the branch again, keeping their dislike restrained and rejoining the shared dinner.
Ulmuka was down to his last few scraps, the largest of which would be for himself. While leaning to peck off a large chunk of meat his head turned around to peer at the newcomer, an owl by the looks of it. His beak cracked, if he'd had a mouth it would have been a smile.
"Helloooooo.. " His voice held a animalistic reverberation.

Endzela watched the squabbling of the minipets with a sort of amusement. She was not too hungry at the moment and thus it was easy for her to just sit back and watch as the scene unfolded but the other larger being caught her attention again and she blinked back her wings spreading a bit so she could glide herself a branch or two closer to him.
Probably so she could be heard.
Her voice was quiet and soft as she spoke up, "Hello to you," it was as if she was speaking to him at a distance rather than up close it was very strange.

"OOooooooo!" He perked when she spoke back, head darting upwards and tilting sideways. "Yoou talk?" His beack clacked excitedly. He tossed the remained of his kill with a talon and the minis all hurriedly flew off for it, their screeching and squawking moving towards the ground a few yards away.
The strix hopped along the now clear branch and it bobbed under his sheer size. "Student mayybe? Reaper friend?" His own voice seemed more to project from his throat since he lacked the lips to pronunciate.

His interest in her almost caught her off guard at least until she simply figured that animals didn't often talk unless they were familiar or a student - perhaps much like the figure before her - so she recovered from her feeling of surprise and accepted the interest due to her.
"Yes. I have a Reaper," she said her voice still quiet as it was at the start of the conversation, "his name is Kettil and I am Endzela," she was glad to share information with this individual! He looked appealing and his smile was a very winning one. She approved.

"A pleasure, Endzela!!" He hopped closer, his wings extending and waist tilting in as much of a bow as he could muster in this form.
"Kettil?" His head tilted the other way. "Oooooh! Can you lead me to him? I'd like to ahhh.. haaa.. apologize." He made a thoughtful sound, a hum, that vibrated from his throat, the feathers shaking.
"We met not long ago."

His question caused her a bit of staring at him as if she was trying to recall something until it dawned on her. Fighting. Chaos. Horror.
...Disappearing not once but twice because of Kettil's cowardice or simple inability to keep her manifested.
Her expression seemed to darken a bit though not at the one before her. No. The memory was a bit of a painful one for her. She hated being 'packed away'. It was insulting for her and it just rubbed her the wrong way. Still this meant one thing for sure. This one before her was a friend and not a foe also? He wanted to apologize so who was she to stop potential friendships?
Brightening almost as quickly as she had become gloomy she seemed to smile at him, "Of course, follow me!" With that she took wing with little hesitation.

Ulmuka followed behind, pulling up to the owl beside her after a moment. "I do not often meet other oooowls." He commented. "Mostly minis. It is a true pleasure!"
The strix followed dutifully, massive compared to the familiar, with wide slightly glowing yellow eyes.

"It is truly a pleasure to meet a fine figure such as yourself," She said back as they flew together. Her voice was becoming stronger and easier to hear the closer they came to her Reaper. "It is not often I get to meet someone like you - in fact you are my first~."
It wouldn't take them very long by wing to reach the Reaper named Kettil where he sat staring a bit anxiously at the sky.
Kettil was starting to believe Endzela was so mad at him that she had resolved to just not come back at all. When he saw his familiar being followed by something bigger his worry almost grew even more before he realized that Endzela wasn't in any sort of a panic.
The Familiar noted Kettil below right where she left him and went to land, "There he is~!" her talons gripped at the wooden branch of a hollowed out old tree as she landed. "I have found you a friend," her voice was strong and clear now that she was with her Reaper.
The boil laughed a bit, "Oh have you now?"

Ulmuka landed in the grass, stumbling without something to perch on but he made it alright. He shuffled in the grass while his wings settled. "Greetings!" He was roughly six feet tall but appeared to be an owl of indeterminate species and a jagged black beak. His pupils were also slitted instead of round which clearly marked him as odd if everything else hadn't already.
"Greetings Mr. Kettil.." The owl bowed slightly. "My name is Ulmuka and I am afraid I need to apologize to you for my behavior the last time we met." Apparently Ulmuka was very direct, no-nonsense, for his apologies. "I attacked you during the events with the horsemen's islands."

Kettil fought down the urge to tense up and get ready to fight. Needless to say he remembered the last time he'd seen this individual. He furrowed his brow a little before he offered a grin shifting to move forward as he offered forward a hand of friendship, "Ah! All is forgiven Ulmuka," he said cheerfully, "it was like ... we couldn't control ourselves, right?"
He hoped that was the case with Ulmuka as it was with Kettil. Friends looked like foes and well... Foes just simply looked more menacing somehow though all of that was now a frightful yet hazy memory he'd sooner forget than recall.
"I am glad to see ya made it out alright, is all." He said with sincerity.
Endzela watched on grateful that Kettil was not the sort to hold grudges at least not very often, "I found Ulmuka while he was feeding his companions. I hope I didn't disturb you, Ulmuka."

Muka reached out as a wing and as he did his body transformed. It wasn't seamless at all, parts of his body shrinking down in strange places at different times. There was a sound of muscles stretching and bones popping but in moments a grinning boil in very stylish, tailored clothes was shaking Kettil's hand carefully. He had rather dangerous looking talons on the ends of his fingers and he was very conscious of using his hands.
His wings rustled and settled on his back. "No trouble Miss Endzela." His voice no longer held it's monstrous tremble. It was high pitched, a combination of screeching and hooting, and his words often hissed through his dangerous looking teeth. "I very much enjoy meeting new friends!"
"I've had a rough week since the island." He giggled, which was odd, but always seemed on the edge of the giggles when he spoke.

Kettil's expression briefly turned to one of mild concern because the sudden change the other boil was going through sounded painful but it seemed they took it well and even was grinning. Was that a usual thing for them? They had a very impressive tolerance for pain if that was true. Hands shook and then he let go to let his own hand drop to his side. "So do I! Makin' friend is the best," he agreed in a chipper tone.
Endzela shifted a bit before she took wing to glide her way over toward Kettil who lifted an arm to let her perch at his glove covered forearm. "Ulmuka is just as handsome in humanoid form~," Endzela cooed happily.
The Muut that held on to his familiar just laughed a bit, he'd take her word on that. He his weight a bit so he could support Endzela perching on his person without dropping her, "Ah, the island," Kettil sighed a bit, "the days were nice up until that last day..."

Ulmuka giggled at the compliment and bowed again to the owl.
"Yes I was enjoying myself." His head bobbled. "It's... unfortunate." It was actually terrible but the strix was not very good with emotions. His wings resettled. "The ahh.. Insanity was quite a bit of trouble. You fared alright?" He noted that Kettil looked fine but he knew that others had it worse. It was awkward trying to talk about such a horrific situation. Especially one in which a student died.
