Natural Ability: Shapeshift: Sylas can transform into his natural form, a large feline similar in physiology to a panther with an extra set of forelegs. His tentacles remain and grow in proportion to the rest of his body.


Personality:

<333: Displacer beasts are, by nature, vicious, ruthless and cruel. They will attack in packs simply for pleasure, and they have an inexplicable dislike for all other living things. Sylas, however, does not. Sylas genuinely likes pretty much everyone, regardless of species or race. He’s used to the pack mentality, and will surround himself with others whenever possible--literally. Personal space is just a good suggestion to Sylas, and he can be very physically affectionate. He’s also incredibly easy to read, even if he never says anything about his current emotional state; he communicates just as much through body language as he does verbally.

I‘m awesome: Anything you can do, Sylas can do more awesomely, even if he has no idea how to go about doing it. Even if he can’t do it (which he probably can’t) he’ll try to play it off like he meant to screw up just to make you look good, and you‘re welcome for that. He’s absolutely confident in the skills he does have--and doubly so in the ones he doesn’t.

Ready, Fire, Aim: Sylas tends to do things before really thinking about how to go about doing them, let alone their consequences. Luckily, what he lacks in scholastic ability, he makes up for in quick--if unconventional--thinking. Most of his solutions tend to be unnecessarily convoluted, even if they make perfect sense to him.

Easily distracteBUNNY: Sylas has the attention span of a crack-addled ADHD kid on a pop-rocks-and-coke high. He doesn’t focus on any one thing for very long, bouncing around from subject to project to conversation at random. He’s hardly ever just doing one thing, and when he abandons something, he often forgets to pick it back up again. However, the rare times something does have his full, undivided attention, he focuses on it with laser-like intensity and, ironically, can’t be distracted from it until he’s done.

D20: Sylas is a closet nerd. He never wanted to roughhouse with his friends or pick on the other scarelings like his siblings did; he's happy to spend his days sitting around playing video games. His parents don't approve, though, so it's something he tries to keep on the DL.

Did I do That?: Sylas often has a difficult time keeping control of his tentacles, and while it may seem that he's very clumsy and/or touchy-feely with them, they act primarily on his subconsciousness. For example, while he knows that he can't go around hugging all the pretty ghouls, any buried impulse to do so will be carried out by his tentacles. This is something he can control if he concentrates, but mostly it will just result in tentacle hugs yay heart


Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? His parents have heard about all of the troubles the Academy has faced recently and actually want Sylas to experience some of that in hopes that he'll grow a backbone toughen up.

Physical Description:

Eye Colour: Bright, glowing green
Hair Colour/Style: Blue-black with brighter blue streaks, getting to the point where he kind of desperately needs a haircut
Skin Colour: Dark grey
Clothing Style/Colours: Jeans and a t-shirt with a funny picture or phrase on it
Extra: Cat ears/tail: Pretty self-explanatory. Sylas has feline ears and a tail even in his humanoid form. He's kind of big guy--less of a kawaii mcneko and more of a tall, athletic body type.

Tentacles: Sylas has a pair of black tentacles growing from his back where a more avian student might have wings. They’re a little thicker around than his arms, and they’re longer than Sylas is tall (like this). They’re spade-shaped at the end but, since Sylas is a teenager and not yet fully mature, they don’t have the curved spikes like those of a fully grown displacer beast.
