SHADOW RUN
The Shadow Run is both the simplest and most dangerous training course that can be run without a golem. A flurry of continuous attacks is what the Sun Division holds in highest respect, and the course reflects that. The course itself is a simple tunnel, reached via portal. Within the tunnel await hundreds of weak, hungry shadowlings. Nothing to worry about on their own, but capable of overwhelming a Hunter through sheer numbers at the first moment of weakness. At the other end of the tunnel is another portal, leading back to the course observation booth.
If you fail: your character is KO'd, but there's always a senior hunter in the observation booth with enhanced bandages at the ready. They should reach you in time. Really. Trained and trusty professionals on-hand 24/7.
If you win: peen points and bragging rights to those who take out the greatest number of shadowlings and go the most turns without needing to attempt a recovery maneuver.
Mechanics
You must get through 5 waves of attacks to make it through the tunnel.
Simply roll for attack as you would in battle.
If you miss, your character falters in their attacking and is overwhelmed by shadowlings.
After 3 successful hits, you may use your weapon's charge attack.
Bonus Mechanics
This bonus is consumable.
The bonus in this course is in the form of "recoveries" ~ these are would-be missed attacks that are quickly recovered and turned into a successful hit. Basically, they can miss once and roll again for an extra try. If you keep consecutively missing, though, and run out of recoveries, it's lights out. These do not equal an automatic pass for a round, you still have to land a successful hit to proceed.
Trainees: 0 recovery
Sun Trainees: 1 recovery
Hunters: 1 recovery
Sun Hunters: 2 recoveries

Jude had enough of Ariane holding it over his head that she has more stamina than he did. He would show her once and for all who had the most stamina (he did) and she would walk out of this looking a fool while he remained victorious with a pick of whatever prize he desired. Oh yes.
Waiting near the Sun Division's Shadow Run area he took out his phone and sent a simple text. Dragain Text to ARIANE: It is time. Get your a** over here. Shadow Run. You and me. Right now.

Pales Text to Jude: I'll be right there.
Arriving at the portal into the Shadow Run course, she narrowed her eyes at her fellow Death Trainee, "Ready to walk out a loser, Judy?" She folded her arms across her chest, "Because I feel like a winner today. Like on every other day."

He gave a small grunt at her as his hands rested on his hips and he stared at her, "Oh? Every other day? I am a winner every damned day. Might as well walk out before you embarrass yourself," he said with a small laugh at her expense and then pointed the way forward.
"Want to go first or are you scared you're going to trip up and fail so hard that your future self will feel it?" Jude mocked at her with a small smirk.

"Oh, trip up? You mean like the way you fell when we were clearing out the dorms?" She stroked her chin, and raised an eyebrow, the grin on her lips shifting to a smirk, "Or maybe the way you tried to get up after that, but tripped again? I'm not sure I can trip up and fail as hard as you did back then..."
She laughed, "I was thinking ladies-" At this, she gestured at Jude, "-first, but sure. I'll go in first, since you're scared..." She didn't wait for his retort, and summoning Kintama, stepped into the portal, and arrived at the start of the Shadow Run course.
Ah, the tunnel was as dark, and creepy as she remembered it.

He gave her a stare that showed that he was not amused by either commentary as he summoned up his weapon and followed in after her with a simple grunt, "I'm not scared of anything or maybe you hadn't noticed," he retorted.
Jude had opted not to make any commentary about the 'ladies' part since most of them ended up with him walking into an even worse insult than the one she presented him with.
Hmph.
Once he joined her it started. The wave of Shadowy figures rose up and came at them. At the moment he only took down four of them. Status Wave: 1 Attack Dmg: 4 Total Shadowlings taken out: 4 Recoveries left: 0

When the shadowlings charged at them, she swung Kintama in their direction, keeping them away in order to clear a path to the other side. However, she only managed to hit two of them.Status Wave: 1 Attack Dmg: 2 Total Shadowlings taken out: 2 Recoveries left: N/A

At the moment he focused on the task at hand. He smacked down nine of them that came at him with very little issue or hesitation. He glanced over at Ariane and grinned slightly. Yeah. He had this. He knew he had this. Status Wave: 2 Attack Dmg: 9 Total Shadowlings taken out: 13 Recoveries left: 0

Unwilling to fall behind, Ariane might be going out of her way just to hit things, rather than try to clear a path to the other side. He dove in to meet the next wave head on. Taking on thirteen of them with a determined expression and they each fell with a quiet wail of unhappiness.
Seems that Jude was unwilling to lose to Ariane.

Ariane had to wonder if Jude was on steroids.

He made a miscalculation as to when he went to unleash his weapon's fear attack. Suddenly the little beasts surrounded him and he had to struggle to get them to back off.

And then, Ariane was overwhelmed by the shadowlings too, her charged attack having failed at the last minute. The last thing she remembered before passing out, was the feeling of being pushed back -and down - by several shadowlings...When she woke up, she was back at the observation booth with Jude laying beside her, and some full-fetched hunters hovering above her.

When he woke up after going down from his struggle he kind of jerked up to a sitting up position likely startling a few people that were surrounding them panting a bit, "THIS DOESN'T ME--," He looked over at Ariane.
"...Oh," does this mean he won somehow?
"You..uh...you alright?" He wasn't going to gloat just yet.

"Right as rain. You?" She muttered, sitting up and staring at Jude; sure, he had taken down more shadowlings than she did before they both fell, but "... That was a draw. We didn't even finish the course."
