The Dream Theater fansite Crooked Step had a poll going on for a VERY long time in order to find the ultimate Dream Theater song. The poll finally ended recently and the results say the the ultimate DT song is...

i dont agree. even though i like the song(or saga what ever it falls under lol) these walls was a single so it kinda gave that album a leg up you know what i mean? if people actully listend to them more the would be diffrent. thats just me

I couldn't possibly pick a favorite. Every one of their songs is my favorite at one point or another. xd

I love alot of the songs! i'd have to disagree with the octavarium thing, dont get me wrong its and awesomely awesome song but its not they ultimate one. i like all of the DT albums.

soulexposed I couldn't possibly pick a favorite. Every one of their songs is my favorite at one point or another. xd I agree. There is no ultimate DT song.

I love Home because to me it seems like 3 or 4 different sounds at different parts of it.
From Octavarium I like Walk beside you...good straight forward love song.

I haven't listened to Scenes from a Memory for ages, and i used to like it so much...
I can't pick a best one, but Metropolis part 1 would be near the top.

I can't believe nobody mentioned A Change of Seasons. D:
That song has been voted #1 in all polls I've seen on the MikePortnoy.com forums, and I find it's the ultimate song, although I couldn't really pick. I love them all for different reasons, but ACoS definitely gives me that one feeling that other songs didn't. <3
