It had been a long time coming; Needle had done her best to be patient and understanding, but enough was enough. Lattice couldn't stay cooped up forever, it was bad for her health and sanity. Well, whatever she had left anyway. Today - the day of the Trials - was the day she was going to do it...even if it would limit her future forever. A promise to her sister, for her sister's sake.
"Lattice? Are you in?" It was a silly question, but it was posed nonetheless. As she spoke she knocked gently on the door that connected their rooms, hoping for an answer.
Lattice had been hiding and she knew it. She was hiding and being a coward and rarely going out unless she absolutely had to or was forced by someone close to her that was able to coax her out again and when they did coax her out she clung to them desperately - mostly her Sister was often the target of such clinging.

Today Lattice had been sitting at her table watching as the small living blob of ink danced about trying to cheer her up from her woes and it'd almost worked for the most part. She heard her Sister's voice and question, "Oh. Um. Yes. Please come in if you wish," she said a bit louder so that her voice could carry through the door.
Was she going to be forced out again? Oh no...Maybe she should have pretended to not be in...!

At the verbal prompt Needle opened the door, stepping in quietly and closing it behind her. "Are you well, Sister?" She started softly, to get the formalities out of the way as she crossed the small distance to the table to sit across from her twin. "I was wondering if I might have a word with you, if you are up to it?"

Quietly and dutifully she moved a cup closer to her Sister and poured a bit of tea, sitting up a little to do so without spilling it everywhere, "I am...well enough," she said though she wasn't sure how she should feel anymore other than scared that she's going to get dragged away the moment she sets foot outside of her door for longer than a minute.
"Yes of course you can have a word with me," she said her voice remaining calm and neutral for the time being.
