Okay, she was ready. She'd taken care of all obligations she had to worry about for the next week or so. She doubted this would be a quick in-and-out deal, where she'd just find the dog girl and magically make off back to Deus with her. It couldn't be that easy, it would never be that easy.
Sigh.
It'd been awhile since she'd used a golem, too. Please be female for the love of god and all that is holy please be female. Candace pleaded as she entered the pod room, giving the tech on duty a wave. The tech told her which pod to head for and she nodded, trying not to look too freaked out by the rows upon rows of bodies in deep sleep. Sleepers, they freaked her out. She hated pod duty simply because of them. Candace was aware that they were a necessity, that one day some of them would awaken to their hunter potential and bond with their own weapon, but they were still creepy as hell.
They weren't dead but they might as well be.
Let's see...two more pods and--

Unfortunately for Candace, that lab tech whom had been 'watching' her... either had a strange sense of humor, or she just had really bad timing.
REALLY bad timing.
It had felt like two seconds had past by, but that was a fleeting memory the woman had as her eyes opened. Eyelids heavy, she wanted to just close them once more and drift off. It would be alright, yes? Just vanish below the surface back in to slumber land... Currently lost in the blissful feeling of awakening from a good nap, something in the back of her mind was screaming. No...no. Dont sleep...You'll regret it. Ceres had memories of what happened while in the pod but some mental defense system censoring her thoughts so that she thought of nothing. This was the only real reason she was able to think of willingly sleeping even more, but those walls will not hold forever.
Her arm itched, forcing movement to try and catch the irritation. That slight movement was all the pod needed, all her body needed to once more grow light in those seafoam green eyes of hers. Oh...
Candace just had some epic timing, because that door did indeed catch her fall. It did not stop though, because after a soft SHINK noise the door kept opening on its own. Before anything else could happen, let alone the door close once more, the pod spilled the contents it held on the huntress.

Candace hit the ground anyway as the door opened itself, a sudden weight falling on her as it opened. That weight. Was. A person. Fuuuuuuuuuuck! A person! No! Nooooooooo! In her panic Candace failed to recognize the body as one of the trainees that had been awakened right before they had been sent to the Sahara for the first time. "O-oh god.."Oh god. Oh. God. Did I do that!? Atropos was laughing. SHUT UP! I THINK I JUST DID A BAD THING DON'T LAUGH AT ME OH ******** I AM SO DEAD!Was she awake yet? No? Good. Candace looked up and down the row, eyes narrowing at the tech. She didn't see them... Maybe if she just...quickly picked up the body and put it back in. Problem solved. The door popped open again and threw her forehead. It apparently refused to stay closed once unlocked. "Fuuuuuuck!" Candace pulled at her hair and watched as the body fell out. Again.

First time falling out of the pod was embarrassing enough, the second time? It was just pathetic. Feeling like she was hit with a 18 wheeler while being snockered out of her mind, though, seriously distorted her usual reactions. The second time she fell out of the pod she was less of a jellyfish, and more like a sack of potatoes. More because she no longer had anyone to break her fall... not so much the fact this was getting repetitive.
Blinking her mind tried to catch up and pass the snails pace it was currently running at, though that might be more do being stuck in a pod for 4 months than anything else. Once more, her limbs seemed to take some persuasion before they wanted to move. Too bad she couldn't bribe them to move... Holding a arm up, she held it up palm facing the woman. "Nmore pleze." She could still speak? Yeah! One less thing to worry about.
Only then, when she was trying to regain some composure... did the flood gates open. Ceres curled in on herself, fingers lacing behind her head, as she let out a scream.

<********>. Candace still looked panicked as the girl held up an arm and pleaded for Candace to stop. Fffffffffuuuuuuuck..
Atropos laughed. You've been a naughty ghoul. Candace's rings flashed a bright purple light, as if Atropos was mocking her. She blushed, clenching her fists. Shut up, you! You're not helping! Oh, am I supposed to? How the Jack can I help when I have no body, hmmmm? Just..ugh! ********! We're not supposed to wake up sleepers what have I done!? Maybe the doctor will give you a spanking for this. I SAID SHUT UP! The weapon cackled.
Slowly, warily, Candace approached the poor girl on the floor. She was fine until the girl screamed. ********! WHY NOW?! She winced, falling to her knees and quickly pulling the girl into her arms, one hand clamped over her mouth to silence her because ow this place ******** echoed okay, while the other wrapped around her middle. This was more like it, really. The sleeper awakenings she'd seen had all been so...calm. She herself had been calm. But realistically? You should be going what the ******** is happening. "Shhh shhhshhshh. It's okay. You're safe. Shhhh..if I lift my hand away will you stop screaming? It kinda hurts the ears."

Blood.
The feeling of the hunt. The feeling of killing... it was a sensation she experienced once before. This was not her first time within the pod, but it was something that she had a feeling ALL of them never wished to happen again.
Pain... oh god the pain. Screaming was not enough, the feeling inside herself was too much. Even if her brain exploded in this instant, she felt it would not be enough. Even the very thought of this caused her to remember events in the dream world... the countless deaths that went with it. Even as the woman came and embraced Ceres, it was too much. She wanted her to stop screaming..? Ok.... Ok she could do that. The back of her mind was being rational, but the memories of the dreams were enough to throw her over. Oh the raven haired woman did stop from screaming. Unfortunately, that meant suddenly moving her face down and clamping her teeth onto the first thing she found, Candace's hand.

Candace clamped her mouth shut to hold in a cry of surprise at suddenly being bitten. You're going to become a werewolf now. Atropos laughed. That looks like it hurts.
IT ******** DOES OKAY? She tried not to whimper as she reached her free hand up to clamp it around the girl's jaw, forcing it open enough to pry her hand free and pull it away.
Candace hissed, releasing the girl's jaw and standing. "Stop that! You don't have to fight for survival anymore okay? I told you, you're safe now." Thank god not all sleepers woke up like this! Geeze!

Oh, she thought she bit down as self defense? No... she only did that to stop from screaming, the other woman had told her to...yes? She saw no harm in this!
Well, at least the screaming HAD stopped.
Rather embarrassed now, and rubbing her jaw, she kept her gaze on the other. Why... why had they put her back into the pod? That was when she looked down and noticed what she was wearing.... a simple tank top and PJ bottoms. Eyebrows drawing together, she tugged a little on one of the sides of the shirt. "Taken while i was asleep huh."
....Well, now that it seems you are in your right mind.. Find me.
Snapping up, Ceres looked for the source of the voice... something was wrong with this picture. She knew this voice, it was warm and rumbling within her mind. "...Where is Takeru?" Clearly the other woman would know what she meant, yes? She could feel Takeru's amusement, and even a little displeasure, at her not instantly knowing where he was.

"Son of a b***h." She hissed, looking down at her hand. Did she break skin? Not quiet, but almost. Candace waved her hand at her side as if they would help it stop stinging. Don't kick the new trainee, dear. Don't. Kick. The new. Trainee. Deep breaths. Calm...relax. Remember what H said? You have a temper. ******** control it already. Even Aria had pointed it out. She'd promised she'd get it under control and for the most part she was. Progress! She was doing better.
But come on! She bit her!
She better not get rabies or something.
Taken in her sleep? Candace frowned. "Doubt it. All hunters come willingly." Wait. Where is..Takeru? "Who's...Takeru..?"

Ceres waved a hand at the 'willingly' comment, choosing not to reply to that. Why should she? After all, its true they all HAD come willingly. Though Ceres was slightly unsure how that related to how she was taken...
"...No... They most certainly did. I remember going to bed and... well." She shrugged her shoulders, lifting the strap of her shirt that fell off her shoulder back in to place. "Here i am now."
Speaking of such... she remembered now that before she went to bed, she left Takeru in his belt buckle form on the dresser. Was he still there? She probably should check...
Standing up, she brushed the sides of her pants to remove anything they might have caught from the floor. "Takeru? He is my partner." That should explain it all, yes?

Her partner...
Candace's brow furrowed, eyes narrowing with confusion as she connected the dots. Awakened, taken by force, Takeru..and now that she got a good look at her...
Hey wait..wasn't this the girl who won the dance competition at the Gala? "Wait you're...not a sleeper.." Candace looked to the pod and then the girl again. "You're already a...I remember you now! Holy..! What the hell? Did you do something wrong to get shoved in a pod or something? Are you okay?" Candace's eyes suddenly widened. Had she awakened someone who was supposed to stay asleep? <********>.

The door slammed open. Dramatically.
A tall figure walked into the room, their coat fluttering into the sunset as the wind and sand billowed just as dramatically around them, stirring their mussed, but still slightly attractive hair. As they stood, in the center of the dais, the clouds parted, sun revealing their still attractive face, rugged features, the vague hint of his manly musk.
"You poor helpless victims of the female kind!" Mark boomed, in his awesome and dramatic voice, "I am here to free you from your bonds, be free, helpless females, and remember this is the day that I, Mark, saved you from your captivity! You are slaves no longer!" A guitar solo played in the background.
What Candace and Ceres probably saw was a very unkept, hairball of a man walk into the pods, mutter some nonsensical words as he tried to keep balance - which he was doing a bad job at as he kept on hitting each pod back and forth - finally make his way to stare blankly at the two trainees before potentially saying the what sounded like the words "fingernail" and "toes".

"No i was awake for a while, and then asleep again." She paused for a moment... what the hell did she do to get shoved back in the pod..? A shrug was the total reply she gave.
Almost as if on cue, a door slammed open, earning a small squeak from Ceres, and a certain....smell gravitated in to the room. It smelt of old gym socks, not-so-manly armpits, and... oddly, taco seasoning.
Ew.
Feeling suddenly not so sure of herself, or her surroundings, Ceres took a step closer to Candace and latched on to her arm.
Candace = Safe. (even though she tried to shove her back in the pod)
New man? Notsomuch.
"Please tell me you know this person." Was whispered, though possibly lost under Marks babbles about man toes.

So she wasn't just some sleeper. She was an already established trainee. Candace's brain wasn't making up memories. "Wow, um. Okay. That sucks. Welcome back, though! Let's see if your stuff is still--"
The door slammed.
In walked--stumbled a vaguely familiar Hunter. Candace just stared, face unreadable.
What. The. ******** Ceres latched onto her arm Candace's lips pursed, patting the girl's hand. At her question Candace shook her head. "I've seen him in passing but I don't actually know him, no." One thing she did know, however, was either this guy was tired or he was plastered out of his mind. "Here I'll...uh.." She gently pulled her arm free of Ceres' hold, moving closer to the drunken idiot. "Hey. You okay?"

The smell of cheap beer reinforced that either Candace or Ceres had been secretly drinking or that Mark was indeed very plastered. He wobbled a bit more, belched rather ungracefully, wobbled a little further until he was a little too close and extremely smelly in the 'ladies' proximity, and then, with half-lidded eyes, made a fumbling grab for the clipboard pasted next to Ceres's pod.
What was even more ridiculous was the how the Hunter was entirely capable of filling out the entire form, doing a small code that involved the "C's" in Cere's name as a repeating pattern, and then promptly tried to turn too fast as he placed the clipboard back and smacked his jaw against the pod.
He went down hard: well, at least the clipboard was informative: The Freaking Clipboard Trainee: Ceres Kentley Status: Awake/ Approved Condition: Normal Notes: All re-activated trainees should proceed and follow missions as normal, with or without guidance to prevent an incident relapse. dx( CCCCC); if (CCC * CCCCCCCC > CCCCC) { f(x) = sin( C+ dx ( CCCC )) ; } echo;
