Why won't anyone love me?Kiiro Hayashi is a girl who now lives alone on a mountain, ever since her mother passed away from an unknown illness, and she now wanders around hoping to find a friend. One day when she was walking around a guy named ______ ran into Kiiro and wasn't sure what to think of her at first. Kiiro, not knowing he wasn't going to mock her about her ears and tail, backed away from him and ran into the forest, trying to get away from him. She didn't want to be found, so she turned into a cat and climbed an old fur tree and watched for the guy, hoping he wasn't going to come looking for her to torture her.  Information

Biography: When Kiiro was born her father said to get rid of her. Kiiro's mother refused to listen and kept Kiiro and that infuriated Kiiro's father. He told Kiiro's mother to get her things and to leave the next day. Kiiro's mother had nowhere to go, however, she left with her daughter, taking her to her old home on Koyamo Mountain. As Kiiro grew older, she went to the campground to play with the children there, yet they usually teased and taunted her about her tail and cat ears. Some kids even attacked her because of her ears and tail. She only ever wanted to find someone who would accept her for who and what she is. Someone who wouldn't push her away before they got to know her.
Skills/Abilities: Can turn into a full cat if she wants to and acts as a guide to anyone who gets lost on the mountain. Is willing to listen to people when they need to talk to someone, however, people rarely want to talk to her.

Brief Biography: Jerem was raised by both parents, in a normal town existence. Lately, his parents have been arguing, so he frequents walks through the town, or through the forest leading up to the mountain.

Jerem had been walking through the woods, enjoying the peace and quiet. His parents were being especially noisy today. He felt so out of place at home when they started their arguments. He let out a breath and looked up at the trees, smiling faintly. It was much nicer out here, where the air was crisp and the only noise was the birds and squirrels.
He paused by a tree, taking a moment to enjoy the scenery, when he noticed something move out of the corner of his eye. Turning, he looked for what he'd thought he saw, and only caught a glimpse of someone running away. Curiosity struck him and he decided to follow--not run after them, but walk briskly. He didn't want to lose their trail.
"Hello?" He called out after he really had lost sight of them. "Is someone there?"

Kiiro heard someone calling out and she hid behind a tree. She wasn't about to go up to the man that was calling her name. However, she did miss people. She slowly walked back towards where she heard the voice and the climbed a tree. When she looked around she noticed there was a man very close to the tree she was in. The branch Kiiro was on was too thin and started cracking under her weight. She was focusing all of her attention on the man and didn't realize the branch was breaking. Before she knew it the branch and her came crashing to the ground. "Oow....." She moaned, as she lay on the ground. Her ears and tail were aching and she had hurt her leg falling from the tree.

Jerem started when the girl fell from the tree. He hurried to her side, kneeling to check on her.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
He didn't even seem to notice the ears and tail, or at least didn't decide to make a big deal about them. He probably even found them charming, adorable. Fascinating, even. He looked up at the tree, seeing where the little branch had broken from. He flinched--that was quite a fall.
"Oh, hey. Be careful. Looks like your leg got scraped up pretty bad from that fall.." He murmured, then reached over to his little shoulder bag.
There was an old sketchbook and pencil case, and next to them was a small first aid kit. He pulled the kit out and opened it, looking around for what he needed. He picked out some gauze and a few tiny alcohol pads for cleaning. He was entirely focused on gathering these items to tend to the girl's leg-- so focused that he didn't bother introducing himself or even seeing if the girl wanted any help.

Kiiro wanted to get up and run, but she was just too sore from the fall. She looked at the man, yet said nothing. When she felt her leg being cleaned she was confused. All she had ever known was pain caused by others. She hadn't ever met anyone that was willing to help her. "Why are you helping me?" She asked in a confused tone.

The young male blinked and glanced up as he put the finishing touches on the gauze bandage.
"What do you mean? Why wouldn't I?" He asked, tilting his head.
It was then that he noticed the ears twitching at the top of her head and the tail curling at her side. He sat back, putting the equipment away. It appeared that he didn't feel the need to address her extra appendages, she probably already knew about them.
"Do people normally not help you?" He looked back up at her face, meeting her eyes.

Kiiro sat up and looked at the young man. She tilted her head to the side a bit before saying, "No, not many people like me." She tried standing up but her leg was rather sore and she ended up falling on her bottom. As she did so she let out a small cry. "Why couldn't I have landed on my feet?" She asked mostly to herself. She then said, "I think I'll be fine. I live alone on the mountain, but I know almost every inch of it." She was about to walk off, but then realized that would be rude so instead she leaned against the tree she fell from.

Jerem stood up, placing the first aid kit back in his bag. He pat the dirt from his knees and watched the girl hobble around. He smiled apologetically.
"Take a break, if you keep moving around like that you might hurt your leg more." He stated carefully, sticking his hands in his pockets. "By the way... My name's Jerem."
He looked up toward the peek of the mountain, pushing his hair out of his eyes.
"Why do you live alone out here? Don't you have family?" He asked, looking back to the girl.

As Kiiro leaned against the tree she heard the young man mentioning not walking on her leg or she may hurt it more. She knew he was right, but she was sometimes stubborn, especially when she was hurt. She usually just went about her business as if nothing had happened. After hearing the man's name she replied in a sweet yet slightly flat tone, "I'm Kiiro. It's nice to meet you Jerem and thanks for cleaning my leg. Although you really didn't need to." Once she heard mention of her living alone and if she had any family her ears flattened against her head. She then looked at the ground not really into talking about her family. It was a very sensitive topic for her and she hadn't really talked with anyone about it.

Jerem smiled a little, scratching at the back of his head. He turned away slightly.
"Well, I couldn't just leave you there. Goes against my code." He explained, still smiling. "No need to get all bitter about it."
He put his hand in his pocket again and looked over the girl again. He tilted his head and looked away, beginning to turn.
"If you want me to leave, I will..." he said quietly, though still smiling.

Kiiro looked at Jerem and said, "I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to sound rude. I just haven't talked with anyone for a long time. I do thank you for helping me because anyone else would've let me lay there." She hoped that he would believe her. She thought about telling him why she was so upset, but she just didn't like telling anyone anything. However, she spoke saying, "I wasn't mad at you when I pulled my ears back and looked down. I just was thinking about something you said to me." She promised herself that she wasn't going to tell him anything because she usually never opened up to anyone and she didn't like talking with people she didn't know.

Jerem tilted his head and turned to face the girl again. He pulled one hand from his pocket to idly hold onto the strap of his messenger bag.
"It's okay. So, can I ask..." He paused a bit, then pointed a finger in Kiiro's general direction. "How did you end up with those? The tail and the ears?"
His tone was genuine, sincere. His eyes held a burning curiosity, the whole reason he followed this strange girl in the first place.
But he started and blushed, pushing hair from his face. "I mean, well. If you want to talk about it. Seems like it might be a touchy subject, since it's not really.. typical on your every-day girl."
He chuckled lightly, hoping to keep the mood simple. He was a little nervous that if he upset the girl, she'd run off and he wouldn't be able to find her again. That would just be terrible--how else would he find out how she ended up with cat ears and a tail?

Kiiro looked at Jerem thinking about what he'd asked and how she was going to reply. She didn't trust most people because they usually taunted and teased her, however, Jerem hadn't said one unkind thing to her. "My ears and tail? I'm not really positive sorry, but I was told stories when I was a child about people like me. There aren't many left I suppose." She replied to Jerem's question. She almost couldn't believe she was talking to someone about her ears and tail. However, she felt much better getting it off of her chest. Kiiro sat down because her leg was bothering her and she figured she probably twisted it slightly in the fall.

"I've heard stories, sure. But I always thought they were fairy tales," Jerem admitted and chanced moving a little closer. He sat down in the grass not too far from Kiiro, but not too close. "It's kind of fascinating to see that they weren't just fairy tales, at least to some extent."
He smiled a little, his eyes draw to the pointed ears atop her head. He looked away and thought of what else he could say.
"How's your leg feeling?" He asked, feeling a little stupid for not thinking of something better to say.

As Kiiro sat under the tree her ears swiveled listening to everything. Kiiro saw that Jerem had gotten closer and she fidgited a bit. "I wish that they were just stories.... I hate having cat ears and a tail. And my leg is all right I suppose. It still hurts, but that may be because I might have twisted it in the fall." She replied. She started looking around and wondered what she would do if her leg didn't get better soon. Kiiro started having a mental panic attack thinking that she may not be able to get food or water. She hadn't meant to show it, but it was very clear that she was panicking about something.
