Yuri had been just doing his thing, minding his own business, when he came across Guy on the way back to where he was staying. The guy looked like he could use a drink, and so the raven haired man invited him to join him. He suspected it had something to do with that red head kid, Luke. Guy really worried about the kid way too much. Luke had plenty of growing up to do, and would just have to figure out things on his own.
Leading the way to the seaside tavern that Yuri had made one of his usual haunts, the man passed through the doors and sat himself at the bar. Repede waited outside as was the usual.
"Ey, if it ain't Yuri!" The bartender said with a grin when the Grande Ile native plopped himself down. "What kinna getcha? Yer usual?"
"Yeah. And some for my friend here, too." Yuri said while motioning at Guy.

It was fortunate indeed that Guy had stumbled across Yuri on his way back to the hotel. After his long talk with Luke, Guy was feeling rather spent, and he figured that spending some time and relaxing with a friend would be just what he needed to recuperate. Even after the discussion he had with his red-headed friend, Guy maintained his fretful worries about Luke. He needed to let Luke be an adult, true, but it was difficult to simply step back and let pieces fall where they may. Getting his mind off of it would surely do him some good.
As Guy followed Yuri into a small tavern nearby, he heard a loud voice calling out for the raven-haired man. Guy set himself down next to Yuri and took a cursory glance about the establishment. "Well, seems like you've become a familiar face here, yeah?"
Exhaling lightly, Guy propped his elbows on the bar, glancing over at Yuri. "Anyway, thanks for doing this for me. I know I've been a bit out of sorts lately, and I haven't really relaxed like this in a while," he said, smiling and letting out a small chuckle.

"Actually, this was my first stop when I got to Kodo," Yuri confirmed with a light hearted grin. He'd certainly paid a few more visits since then, and the locals had already gotten to know him. He did kinda stick out from the crowd, after all. They'd since gotten use to him carrying his sword, and paid it no mind.
"Sure. Its the kid, right? He'll be okay."
The bartender soon came back and slid a couple mugs of beer in front of the two gentlemen. One of which, Yuri picked up right away and took a swig. He'd gotten use to the strong, bitter taste of the local beer, and had actually come to like it.

"Really? That's pretty cool," Guy said as two mugs of beer were placed before them. "The first thing I did when I came here was go to the spring festival, and that was an entire year ago." Guy shrugged as he picked up his own mug and took an experimental sip. The taste of the drink was horribly bitter, and he fought to swallow the liquid down without cringing. Yuri seemed to like the taste just fine, but it was far more bitter than anything Guy had previously encountered.
He tried one more sip before turning back to Yuri. "Yeah, it's Luke again. I was just talking to him before I met up with you, you know, and everything about it is just... complicated." There was another grimace as he took a third swill and shook his head. "I really don't know what to do with him sometimes."

"Just let him grow up," Yuri said as he took another sip. He watched Guy out of the corner of his eye with a hint of amusement. His reaction had been pretty similar to his when he'd first tried the beer.
"He's just figuring stuff out. And he knows you're there for him when he needs you. So stop being such a mother hen."
His expression then went a little distant. "We were all there once." He then took yet another swallow of the beer and set the mug down as he hunched over the bar, holding the contain between his hands.

"Yeah, I know, I know," Guy said with a dismissive wave of his hand. "I know he's not a kid anymore, even if he is still just a whiny brat." He laughed lightly and took another sip of his drink. Still pretty disgusting, but he was beginning to warm up to it a little.
Guy frowned and gave Yuri a lazy punch in the shoulder for the 'mother hen' comment, though he had to admit that he needed to lay off on the protectiveness. He stared down into his drink as he thought aloud. "I just... I just need to relax more. I need to just get out and do my own thing." He took another drink. Yeah... This stuff wasn't all that bad. "I'm tired of being a babysitter all the time, anyway."

"Yeah, be your own man," Yuri agreed in a pondering fashion. Hmm. Guy really needed something to help him loosen up. He needed some fun, and not just a drink.
"I think I know what you need," the raven haired man said as he stood up after taking another sip of beer. Already he was getting a decent buzz. A glance across the room, and something caught his attention. Without another word, he made his way across the tavern towards a booth.
While Guy couldn't see who it was from his vantage point, Yuri was talking it up with someone, a sly grin on his face.
Eventually he returned, followed by a pair of good looking, voluptuous ladies. One of them was holding onto Yuri's arm, while the other slinked towards Guy and came up to him. "So I hear you're in need of a good time," she spoke in a sultry voice.

As Yuri suddenly stood up and walked across the tavern to some unknown location, Guy watched him leave confusedly, then he shrugged and turned back to his drink. Whatever. If Yuri wanted to leave, then fine. Guy took a couple of large gulps of his beer and forced it down. He certainly believed that he was beginning to fall under the effects of the drink. Or... At the very least, he felt warmer than he was before.
Behind him, he heard footsteps coming back towards him. It was most likely Yuri, but Guy could distinctly pick out more than one pair. Curiously, he turned around to greet his friend once again, but abruptly he halted. Yuri was there, and he was accompanied by two rather... attractive women, one of which was sliding up right next to Guy oh god please don't get too close oh this is not good.
The woman spoke and she sauntered up right next to Guy. His eyes shot open as he flinched violently and hurriedly tried to scramble away before losing his balance and stumbling off of his seat in a clumsy, ungainly fashion, crying out as he fell. Now on the floor, he scooted further away from the women, glaring up at Yuri as he did so. "No. No! No way! Absolutely not!"
...Well, looks like all semblances of being normal got chucked out the window.

He had been trying to do Guy a favor, but it was quickly evident that the blonde was not at all appreciative. At Guy's violent reaction, Yuri stared with wide eyes as the man barreled over his chair and onto the floor with a yelp. The pair of women also looked astonished, if not a bit insulted.
"Oh c'mon hun, I don't bite," the girl that had approached him said, trying to hide her annoyance at the reaction. She again tried to approach Guy.
Yuri just continued to stare, before feeling a tug on his arm, the girl with him leaning in to murmur. "Is your friend always like this?"
"Uh..." was all Yuri could think to say.

Oooh, this was just the worst possible thing that could have happened. Now Guy remembered why he never went to places like this; the chances of this happening was just too high, and now look what he had done! He screamed and fell off of a chair because a woman came up and talked to him. Why the hell did Yuri bring them over?! Oh crap, right... Yuri doesn't know, Guy recalled. Well, now everything was just going to hell.
The woman continued to advance, and Guy continued to retreat, stumbling over his words as he tried to apologize without letting the woman get too close. "No no no no, I'm sorry I'm sorry please stop, I'm sorry! I-it's not your fault - at all! You're, uh... Y-you're a lovely woman, but I-I can't! I just can't! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Please, just s-stop!" There was no real use now explaining that it was impossible for him to be physically close to any woman; he just prayed that this woman would get the message and leave him alone without being too angry. Nothing good came out of these types of things.

The woman scowled as Guy scrambled away from her, putting her hands on her hips. "Fine, I get it." She said, clearly displeased as she turned on her heel and stalked past Yuri and the other girl.
Watching her friend leave, the other girl leaned in close. "Catch up with me later, okay?" She then ran to catch up with her friend, leaving Yuri standing there, staring at Guy dumbfoundedly.
"What the hell, man?" He then asked finally, clearly in a state of disbelief at Guy's behavior. He's never seen any self respecting guy act that way towards a woman. It was just... unnatural.

Feeling like a class A jackass, Guy slowly hoisted himself to his feet once the two women had left. Guy scowled as he reclaimed his chair and angrily ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. Oh, why did this kind of thing always have to happen? What a buzzkill that encounter was. He felt like a bloody idiot. Why did he have to have a phobia of women, of all things?! He couldn't even remember why he was so frightened of them. It wasn't fair.
Guy growled as he looked behind him to face Yuri, who was looking thoroughly confused and completely unbelieving. "I know, okay? I know. But it's not like I can... help it." Grabbing his drink by the mug handle, Guy swilled down several gulps of the beer, only partially registering the bitter taste of the liquid in his mouth. Sighing, he placed the mug back on the bar and rubbed at his temples tiredly. "Look, I know I probably should have told you about this from the beginning, and it's my fault for not letting you know. I just... I have a phobia of getting physically close to women. That's the best way that I can explain it." Even as he said it, Guy knew it sounded stupid, but it was the truth.

Yuri watched as Guy got himself up and sat down at the bar again before chugging down some of the beer. Was this guy for real? Had he really just seen what he thought he had? Guy's explanation did little to clear it up though. What man was afraid of women? He'd never encountered such a thing. Sure.. he'd seen men who didn't like women.. but were genuinely afraid of them? It was... okay it was just plain weird.
Eventually Yuri sat down again and took a few gulps his own beer. "Don't sweat it," he told Guy. He wasn't at all angry or insulted, since Guy hadn't really meant anything by it. But he also wasn't going to apologize since he hadn't known.
He sat there in silence for a few moments, mulling this over, when something struck him. "I respect your choice in lifestyle and all, but just know I don't swing that way." Might as well make that known right now.

Guy heaved a large sigh, lifting the mug back to his lips and taking yet another gulp. This stuff really wasn't all that bad, once you got past the whole gag-reflex thing, and he needed all of the drink he could get to put this stupid business out of his head. It was frustrating beyond words, and even with Yuri's acceptance of his condition, he knew that his friend still didn't understand. Guy knew that he shouldn't expect him to, but... still. That didn't make him any less aggravated.
Guy blinked in confusion at Yuri's next statement, as he didn't quite comprehend what his friend was saying. The message finally sunk in a few moments later, and Guy's eyes widened as his expression morphed from confusion to shock to anger. "Wh- I'm not gay!" he yelled a little bit louder than he intended to. "I like women. Honestly. I just... can't be too close to them. I don't even know why." Why was this always so damn complicated?

Several people in the bar quickly looked over at Guy upon his exclamation. Yuri just looked at him sidelong in a dubious fashion. He clearly didn't believe him. After all, what kind of man that was afraid of women would be straight? That only left him the same gender, after all. Unless he was just asexual or something.
"Could've fooled me," Yuri stated in disbelief. "Its nothin' to be ashamed about."
The bartender then came over and filled both of their mugs as Yuri gestured for more. His downed another mouthful of the stuff, his cheeks having turned a nice rosy color.
