A Zune was grooming himself in front of a mirror. He checked his wings, his hair, and between his toes. He could here is fathers voice in his head: 'You must always look good, you never know when that special someone will come into your life. You must be prepared!' Orion was a bit like his dad, he was romantic, charming, but when he tried talking to the ladies they laughed and thought it was a rue to get in their pants. He hoped one day one would see that what he says to them is sincere.

With a sigh, Aira wondered into the shop. A book was held tightly between her paws. Another romance novel of hers. She enjoyed reading this sappy stories and hoped to one day have a love just like one of them. To her, a love life like that would be perfect. Yet, she was told it would be nearly impossible for that to happen by a few of her house mates.
"Well, it all starts with getting to know others, i suppose." Aira said out loud to herself as she looked down to her book. She wanted this love so bad and yet... She was afraid of having it too. What of her heart only ended up nothing but a shattered toy in the end? What then. She was so lost in thought, she failed to notice she wasn't alone in the seemingly empty shop. "My first time out here... IS the world cold and cruel like i have been told or is it... Different?" Another sigh escaped her as she sat down and opened her book.

He heard someone, a girl. He looked around and saw her, talking to herself, nose in a book. A romance novel too. One he could say he read, though he'd never admit to it. He heard her mention something about wanting to met someone. He cleared his throat and crossed the room. He's done this a million times, why did this one seem so different. "Hello there. My name is Orion. May I sit with you?" He gave her the dazzling smile that he inherited from his father.

Her attention was instantly on Orion, not used to being interrupted while reading and quote honestly caught off guard. The smile she had seen on his face made her blush a bit, also not used to that. 'This is... Different.' She thought to herself. Before her thoughts could continue to race further like they normally do, she nodded while scooting over to make sure he had room to sit.
"O-oh. Uh, sure thing." Aira patted the spot next to her. She curled her tail around herself tightly while glancing around. She had forgotten to look at her surroundings like her father had told her to do. What if someone had planned to hurt her? But what if... This guy had planned to hurt her? Quickly, she looked back to Orion to keep an eye on him.
'Geeze, i really need to get out more, don't i?' She once again had thought to herself.

"That's a good a book." He smiled, silly he didn't have a book in his hands. He looked down, then at her and saw she was keeping an eye on him. "Is there something wrong?" He even looked behind him to see if there was something there. He was starting to get a little nervous. Was this girl going to reject him right off the bat too?

"You've read it before?" She had thought these types of books were for girls only, and that men would have never read them. Frowning, she shook her head and quickly looked down to her book. "N-no, sorry! I... Didn't mean to uh... Sorry." What was she doing? Looking at him like that. Was it wrong of her to do that, or right? She gave a light shake of her head, trying to sort out all of the thoughts running through it. That's when she realized... His name was Orion, and she had yet to give hers.
"Aira?!" She said semi-loudly and in a confused manner. Oh, this was embarrassing. She really needs more people skills. Her paws met with her face in an attempt to cover up her embarrassment or to make it go away. Though it didn't quite work how she had hoped. Lightly, she sighed. What did he think of her? Was he possibly thinking she was a ditzy idiot or what?
Calmly, she spoke, but kept her paws on her face. "I-i meant... I'm Aira, that is my name..." 'I shoulda just stayed at home, like usual...' Aira thought to herself in complete and utter embarrassment.

"Yeah, I have. The shopkeeper said it was popular so I went ahead and read it." When she started to ramble Orion chuckled. He started to believe she was as nervous as he was. He took her paw and steadied it. "I am Orion, you have a beautiful name." He leaned in and kissed her paw, his purple eyes looking up into her blue. He was blushing, he could feel the warmth in his cheeks. Then he gently put her paw back down. "If you aren't busy... May I take you out for lunch?" His tailed curled, he wanted to cross ever toe he had, but that would be awkward.

Her blushing was strong, she wished it would go away. Aira was so worried about her blushing and how embarrassed she was that she failed to notice that the very first chapter of her own love story was just about to begin. Well, for the time being she didn't notice it. Perhaps in a later chapter, she would notice it.
"Thank you, O-Orion." That blush she had hoped would go away had only gotten stronger as he kissed her paw. She removed her other paw from her face to get a better look at him, noting his blush as well. HE was blushing, too? Perhaps this was a dream. A dream she was in control of. Slowly, she nodded. Accepting to herself that this was in fact a dream. there was no other possible explanation. But oh how wrong she was.
"I'm... Not busy. Lunch s-sounds like a great idea, really." She took her old, worn-out bookmark and placed it in her book to save her spot for later.

About to hang his head in defeat, Orion perked up. She said yes! Now where to take her. Wait... He knew. There was a spot his dad told him about. That would be perfect! "Alright. How does a picnic sound?" He smiled. He also knew about a great spot in the park not to far from here. He escorted her out the door and kept his cool. When they reached the restaurant he smiled. "Wait right here. I promise I won't be gone for long."
Orion had slipped in the back. After a few minutes he had returned with a rather large picnic basket. He held it firmly with his tail. It was a bit heavy, but he could manage. "Ready?" He looked up at the sky. It was a beautiful day, the conditions were right. This was going to go perfectly... Just like in the books.

Aira smiled lightly as she followed him, kinda nervous about this really. This was her first time out of her house. And a stranger was taking her out to lunch. As much as she felt this had to be a dream, she found herself wishing it wasn't. And if it ended up being a dream, well... That would just be her luck, wouldn't it? They then set out to go get the food for this picnic Orion had proposed to her. While on their way to get the food, she played little scenes in her head from books she had read. The perfect life, the perfect love, the perfect family. Would she one day have that? Of course she would. It's right here, right in front of her. She's just too afraid to see that.
She snapped out of her thoughts as Orion spoke once more. "O-okay." Aira watched as he walked into the restaurant. While he was gone, she glanced around to watch her surroundings. The others back at her place all varied in personality and such, which only made he wonder how the rest in the world was like. Scary? Mean? Nice? The 'world' in all her books were usually nice an pleasant. She stopped her thinking again, deciding it would just be best for her to find out all for herself.
Upon seeing Orion, she smiled a beautiful smile. "Ready~" Her voice held a ring of happiness and bliss. She had decided to take this 'dream' with the best of attitudes, stop being so worried. After all, it was just a dream... Right? If anything terribly bad happened she could just wake right up.
...Right?

The boy stopped dead in his tracks after seeing that wonderful smile. He turned a dark shade of red. "O-okay then. Let's get going." He walked by her side, following the path to the local park. Everything was going great until he heard laughing behind them. It wasn't a happy laughter, no. It was a mischievous laughter, one that sounded like it belonged to someone up to no good.
A nasty sneers were spread across three male Zunes faces. "Watchya' got in the basket? Why not go ahead and and hand that over." Another circled behind Orion and was looking over Aria. "Heya Toots! Why not ditch this lame-o and join some real men!" All three broke out in laughter.
Orion would not stand for this. "That is no way to speak to a lady." He set the basket down and looked back at Aria. "Stay close to me. I will not let them hurt you." His shyness was gone, he needed to protect this girl. No matter the cost. Then Orion did something he never thought he would have to do. He let out a snarl, he's teeth exposed and the fur on his body stuck on him. His wings splayed out, it made him look much larger then the others.

That blush Orion just had on his face... What could it be from? Shrugging, Aira followed alongside him and took in the nice weather. So beautiful. So peaceful. So laughter-filled. Wait... Laughter? Aira instantly froze up. Was it fear that had made her stop? Or the fact it caught her off guard from her thoughts?
As the male spoke to her, the smile she had melted away to a frown. This perfect little dream had taken a turn for the worse. That's it, it was time to wake up. Her eyes closed tightly as quickly as they could. Concentration. That's all Aira needed to wake up... ... Wait, why isn't she waking up? Her eyes darted open, Orion and the three men still there. What was even going on at this moment?
Aira moved closer to Orion as he had instructed, nervously hugging her own tail. She couldn't help but flinch herself as Orion flared his wings out with a menacing snarl. Once again, she tightly closed her eyes in an attempt to possibly wake up. Three... Two... One...She opened her eyes, and the same scene laid before her as before.
Maybe this wasn't a dream like she had thought it to be.

The three males, seeing this guy was no joke, backed away. Then left. Leaving the two alone. Orion's fur settled and his wings settled to his side. He turned to Aria and put a protective wing over her. "It's ok. They're gone." He looked over her... she looked physically ok... But it seemed she wasn't to happy on the inside.
"Are you going to be ok?" He was worried. "Aria... As long as you are with me... I won't let anyone hurt you." He was serious, his eyes looked into hers and he pulled her into a hug.

Out of fear and confusion, she leaned against Orion as he put his wing around her. She had to gather her thoughts up before they ran too far ahead of her. Not waking up from what she thought was a dream threw her off track a bit. Okay, a lot. Threw her off A LOT. It was confusing, yet it filled her with happiness deep down. Knowing that this all was really happening. Well ,aside from what had JUST happened, but still. She looked up to Orion to say something but couldn't find the strength at the moment to even open her mouth any more than a little bit.
His words sunk into her heart, more than they should have. 'Wait a minuet.' She thought. 'I've heard that line somewhere before... I've heard it quite often, too. Is... Is that...?!' Then he hugged her, just short of her realizing this was a perfect love story being played out with her and Orion as the lovers. No, it couldn't be. That's just foolish, a love story like the books would never happen for her. She brushed off the realization as a joke to herself and ignored it... For now.
Aira nodded shakily. "O-o... O-okay, Orion..." She hugged him back semi-tightly, hiding her face on his shoulder and mumbled, but but her mumble was coherent. "M-m-maybe... W-we should get back to... O-our picnic?" She took her head off of his shoulder and looked into his eyes once more, awaiting an answer.

Orion nodded. "Yes, lets get back to our picnic" He gave her a soft smile and stayed by her side. She still looked a little shaky to him. He found a nice spot under the shade of a large willow tree. He set down the basket and pulled out a blanket, plates and various foods, from salad to steak and everything in between. He smiled at her, the guess at the restaurant really knew how to set up a picnic.
While he made his own plate he couldn't help but to look up at her. She was a very pretty young lady. He was hoping that the rest of the day went well. He did ant to see more of this beautiful girl.
